They are taking almost £700 out of my wages this month with no warning because of a mistake they made in my increment saying I was on the wrong one when I wasnt. Said its an error -from over 2 years ago- and they are trying to take another monthly payment of the same amount for the next 5 months. Their emails dont accept replies. All issues have to go through a portal which they can only respond in a call back within a 3 hour window in a time frame of 3 working days (so good luck if you're a busy clinician) or in an email (that you cant reply to). No wonder our Trust isnt using them from April. This kind of incompetence ruins lives. Company should be forcibly dissolved.

I am a nurse. SBS duplicated my payroll. Told HMRC I earned double what I earned and lumped me with a 5500 pound unpaid income tax bill they have refused to sort out.
I am being chased for money I do not owe and SBS refuse to help. I have logged multiple complaints that have all gone unanswered. No a single response from them. I have been promised manager call backs, payroll specialists call backs. None of which I ever received. I have taken time off work for these call backs that never happened. This has been going on since April 25. It has left me suicidal and caused massive deterioration to my.mental wellbeing. SBS are bullies who so not care about anyone. They are not fit to run a hose pipe let alone the payroll for the NHS
I wish I could give this company zero…
I wish I could give this company zero stars. Currently on maternity leave with incorrect payment and an entire missing salary of over 3k. I have been chasing this for nearly a month with promised call backs that never happened. One of the most stressful situations to encounter recovering from a traumatic birth and not being able to pay all my bills. SBS maintains they have paid me correctly when I can see and count that they haven't.
Shambolic Business Services
Unfortunately had to give one star because 0 isn't an option. Its hard to find the words how poor this service is. No matter how many warnings you receive, or reviews you read, nothing will prepare you for how bad SBS are. SBS have poor response times, untrained staff, poor leadership and absolute zero understanding of what the NHS does and how their actions could affect patient care. How this company are continuing to fleece trusts out of money to provide a useless service is astounding and the fact no one seems to able to break free from the service is criminal. Avoid this company like the plague and I look forward to watching the BBC Panorama documentary that is surely to follow.

As others have said, I've given one star only because I can't give zero or negative stars.
Categorically the worst organisation I have ever encountered. My trust have outsourced Payroll and Pensions to this group and they are utterly incompetent. Unable to answer the most simple question, knowledge about payroll/pensions is worse than mine, and they intermittently pretend not to have access to my previous records (which they do).
Ignore tickets, close cases without a response, take weeks to reply to the most simple queries, and continue to give incorrect answers even why I provide a link to the guidelines they're supposed to follow.
An unofficial but credible source tells me they're cheaper than the alternatives, but the consequence of this is a hugely frustrated workforce who can't get the right information on their records and risk enormous pension tax bills as a result.
Hopefully these reviews will persuade other Trusts to stay away....
Appalling
Appalling, literally appalling. My trust outsourced Accounts payable to SBS, and spent God knows how much, making our APs redundant. SBS simply don't do what we are paying them to do. Half the AP department had to be brought back on the agency, and even then, most had lost the will to live, within the first six months. Now, any and every administrator, has to do the work that SBS are being paid to do, because if we don't do it, nothing gets done, and we end up on hold with the suppliers. SBS pay unreceipted invoices, and then tell you to raise new orders, because the receipted ones cannot be paid. They never check anything. They just throw it back at you, and carry on licking the window. Seriously, you wouldn't give these idiots a broom, and expect them to know what end to hold. As for the procurement system it runs like it was created in the 1970s by people with special needs. Completely useless, you can't even highlight a line, yet alone filter results. Every page is covered in completely useless information, and it takes multiple clicks and endless searching to fund the most basic information. All the defaults are set up illogically and it's impossible to change them. The chances of your supplier actually getting the order, is completely random, but you can't even download it and send it yourself. It's hard to believe that there is anyone soo stupid, that they could design a system this bad.

They are useless from every point of view. I still wonder why the NHS is wasting money on them. No wonder this poor institution is driven to bankrupcy with this kind of partners. A disgrace.

If I could give 0 stars I would do. Absolutely appalling. Frequent ‘administrative errors’, resulting in incorrect payments, practically non existent complaint resolution. Just what are we paying this ‘service’ for?!

Months of incorrect payment. The online help is a waste of time as staff don't actually read what the request is, and follow up goes unanswered. If I worked like that I'd be sacked

Very poor service. Colleague still not paid for some shifts since November 2024, despite numerous emails, form filling and following instructions. No clear way to make a complaint or call a manager to resolve this.

Months of inappropriate payments taken from my salary with promises they will stop and also refunded. And yet still the money is deducted and still no refund.

Absolutely a nightmare
Absolutely a nightmare. I have been promised call backs that never happened. My situation as been going on for that long they are calling it critical urgent but still no response. I owe you money and am desperate to get this resolved but if you can't be bothered why am I getting so stressed about it. I am beginning to doubt that this company even exists as all emails phone calls etc. just seem to disappear into a black hole. I have never dealt with bungling clowns before and never in my wildest dreams ever perceive that a company could be so incompetent
The website is useless
The website is useless. I have lost money on multiple occasions now because fields in claims form are greyed out preventing me from filling them in. There follows weeks of emailing back and forth to try to sort the issue (never resolved), before the 3 months to claim back study expenses has elapsed and I then can't claim anything back. The study budget for doctors is essentially inaccessible because of this.

They close your case number without resolving the issue. Doesn't resolve the issue on time. You need to call them to get an update. Once you call them the people behind talk soooooo fast you wouldnt understand what they were trying to explain. Then at the end of conversation, they will tell you they will close the case but didnt really resolved the main problem, so you end up putting another case on the portal.
Also, not consistent to what they are saying, mixed information. You end up wondering if you are going to get paid next month. Very poor service.

Contradictory advice given. General help desk personnel undertrained, working from home and basically, say you will receive a telephone call within 5 working days at any point?
This often does not happen? Very poor communication, despite requesting information regarding my pension application. SBS NHS is not fit for purpose.

Poor communication skills, gave incorrect information in regards to times that query would be dealt with. Advised I had left my Trust but they didn't think to ask for an updated email address, only confirmed my phone number and then proceeded to send an email to my Trust email which I obviously dont have access to. When called to get an update had an abrupt member of staff who clearly didn't want to help.
