Bought a floating Moon lamp online from…

Bought a floating Moon lamp online from the Science Museum shop. With shipping etc it was about £150. The lamp is amazing but a total nightmare trying the get it to float. The other downside when you switch the lamp off you need to be very careful since the ‘moon’ drops, if your lamp switch is beyond an arms length of the ‘moon’ then you need another person to catch it. The other downside is every time you switch it off you need to set it up again. Trust me. The setting up is NOT THAT EASY.very frustrating. The setting up hassle alone makes me feel I have wasted about £150.

No stock control

I made a £100 approx online order. All items marked as in stock. Email to say it had been dispatched. Two days later email to say I had cancelled it. I didn’t. Emailed to ask what’s going on, no reply.

Now having to hunt around for alternative presents.

For a science museum to have such poor computer systems in place is actually hilarious.

Whoever is in charge should go and stand in the corner until they can put better systems in place.

Persevere with chaotic customer services, don't give up

This is a present to somebody so hasn't been opened yet. However Science Museum uses Royal Mail as couriers. Big mistake. First contact with Science Museum customer services was told to chase Royal Mail myself ! Explained they had the contract with Royal Mail not me, so their responsibility to do that. Also as they were on strike Science Museum should use somebody else not expect their customers to hang around waiting for strike to finish. So they did !

So after many contradictory emails from various people in customer services , was told it was out of stock and would get refund when royal mail said so! Then told they had found one in their shop and ups were going to deliver it!

Then got email saying out of stock grhhhh. So phoned and was eventually told UPS had picked it up.

It arrived yesterday. Hurray. Well done somebody in customer services.

Space Lab - Great Gift

I picked up a Space Lab set for my nephew's birthday. It arrived on time and he loved it.

Apparently he hasn't put it down. I'll be coming back for his christmas present.
