Carry on doing what you’re doing. Everything was first class. My leather suite was worth waiting 14 weeks for! Delivery was excellent.

Good advice, quality, and service

Our new sofa purchase was made very easy with the help and advice from AJ in the Bedford branch. He helped us find exactly what we wanted without the hard sell tactics of trying to sell more than needed. The delivery guys were excellent, making sure everything worked and was in the right place, and clearing up after themselves. We must be happy as we've just ordered a chair to go with our sofas.

Buyer Beware

In March 2026 we bought a sofa from the above company, Bedford Branch. We received good service in store and paid the full amount plus delivery charge, on the day. We were informed that, because of various delays, delivery was not likely to be until July and this was reflected in the paperwork, July 17th being the advisory date. We were happy with this as we were in no hurry for delivery and pointed out that we had other commitments, including holidays, before then.
Imagine my surprise to receive a text yesterday, June 27th stating that the sofa would be delivered on Tuesday 30th June, only three days away. Unfortunately we had commitments on that day and were unable to accept delivery and so we rang the store. we were offered delivery on July 11th, when we were on holiday, and July 20th, which we could accept. Imagine my reaction when i was informed that there would be a " storage fee" of £40 per week.
I wish to make clear that it is not my fault, but a company issue that there is no capacity to store customer items , neither is it my fault that the item arrived unexpectedly earlier than anticipated.
I have been informed by the store manager that, unless the storage fee is paid the item - fully paid plus delivery, will not be released. Be aware that scs/poltronesofa customers who are not in a positon to accept almost immediate delivery of their furniture, with very little notice, will be liable for this fee.
This is not customer focused but meets the needs of the company and is punitive.
I do not intend to pay the fee and will be taking further advice on a way forward.
After many years of using SCS, I am sad and disappointed that the company now seems to have moved away from its original high standards of customer service. I would say Buyer Beware.

I am very sorry to see that you are disappointed in your experience and can completely understand any frustration.

The date provided on your order documents is an estimate and we do advise that this can change and goods can arrive sooner or later.
The order document has been signed to confirm that you agreed to accept delivery earlier than the estimated delivery lead time and this does also state regarding the storage fees.

I appreciate that the outcome is not what you may have hoped for and appreciate why this may be upsetting for you.

The one in Bedford is above and beyond

The one in Bedford is above and beyond.
They've got a wonderful range of sofas, laid out spaciously, and organized in the style of real living rooms (so you can see how yours might look). There's also a huge selection of colours to choose from.
Decent prices with delivery to your room of choice.
Great service, too. They're there to help but don't put pressure or annoy you with sales talk!

We were approached by the deputy…

We were approached by the deputy manager Raz almost as soon as we walked in. He left us for a few minutes while we found what we wanted, and then reappeared so we could make our purchase with ease. He explained everything as we went along and made it very easy. Thanks Raz!
