I recently had my patio doors and two side windows replaced. I found Seal Lite to be professional, accommodating and extremely helpful to the requirements I proposed. Both Paul and Ryan, carried out the work to a high standard and went beyond what would be expected to help me achieve the best end result for my situation. I am very pleased with how they look and work. Paula Bristol

We had front windows and a patio door and front door replaced in Chartwell Green. The fitters were polite and friendly. The craftsmanship of the windows were made very well. The time it took them to install was a week. All the people were lovely. Would definitely use Seal-Lite again as we still need the back window replacing at a later date.

We could not have wished for a better service. We are so pleased that we picked this company to replace all windows, the patio door and front door - it was a big decision and we are thrilled with the finished product. We were originally concerned about replacing our bay window with a flat window, but there was no need to be worried! Paul and Ryan were friendly, professional and respectful. They made such an effort to keep our house clean and tidy as they worked and their communication before and throughout the week was brilliant. Thank you.

Following a recommendation by my builder and a visit to Seal-Lite’s Clevedon showroom, I specified two fixed windows, a set of bi-fold doors and a lantern roof-light for my new-build orangery. The samples appeared well designed and manufactured (I’m a retired Chartered Engineer so know what I am looking for) and I was more than happy to buy from a local business.
Things went downhill from there. The 2 – 3 week delivery schedule turned into 6 weeks. When finally site-delivery day arrived, the builder’s window fitter discovered that no glass had been ordered. This meant there was no glazing for a week after installation of the frames leading to a ridiculous situation where empty frames were swamped by heavy rain. Not all the glass was ready for collection on the same day and, quite rightly, the window fitter charged my builder (and therefore me!) for a second visit. What sort of window company forgets to order glass for its products?! This smacks of management incompetence and is clear evfidence of flawed businesses processes at Seal-Lite. To make matters worse they were not interested in appeasing an angry customer, offering a derisory £100 refund to my builder on an order worth more the £10k.
Product quality defects then came to light. I discovered the lock on one bi-fold door would not turn. Investigation by the fitter revealed that the lock barrel had been drilled through by one of the frame securing screw holes and the screw itself left protruding as it could not be screwed fully home. This was obviously a manufacturing defect (by supplier Korniche) but how did it get past Seal-Lite’s quality control (or Korniche’s for that matter)? In addition, no door stay was supplied and it was pure luck the wind did not slam the door against the adjacent masonry.
The lantern roof-light should have been the jewel in the crown but the assembly supplied had four additional unnecessary frame sections which completely ruin the clean lines of samples shown on the Korniche website and in Seal-Lite’s showroom. The lantern was well below the maximum size allowed and now looks massively over-designed. To add insult to injury, the cover plates for the securing screw troughs had been cut to completely the wrong sizes – in fact I’m pretty sure offcuts had been supplied. It’s probably assumed that a customer would never see these items unless spring cleaning up a ladder. In fact the angled glass of the lantern reflects a clear view of the sub-standard parts whenever one looks through the lantern! Fortunately, the builder’s window fitter was able to source some matching uPVC sections which he jointed skilfully and now look perfect – but it simply should not have been necessary. Worse still, Seal-Lite denied there was a problem.
My builder, Seal-Lite and their supplier Korniche are all implicated in my total dissatisfaction (and no doubt will all be blaming each other). I have lived locally for over 30 years and had never before considered Seal-Lite as a serious window supplier – now I know why.
