It has been around 18months since I ended my service with this company but I felt it unfair to leave a review on my experiences until I had spent a decent amount of time with one of their competitors.
I want to say for one that the reviews based on service works and repair works are unfair to aim at STL as they are at the mercy of OFNL and these changes, and the length of time they take apply to all OFNL providers and is out of STL's hands.
However, compared to my current provider the stability of my connection at my property has far improved since moving away, strange as they use the same lines but I can't ignore it when leaving feedback.
The biggest factor in my review is to do with the service I received from the company. I once reached out to see how it would be possible to get a signal from the terminal in my cupboard into all of the in wall ethernet ports in my house. I was told this wasn't possible and I would need to pay for a standalone internet connection for each port. I knew this wasn't correct and pushed back and to say that the responses I received were arsey is an understatement. Fast forward to my new provider who advised me I would need to input from my router, into a network switch and then feed the ports from the switch into the patch panel and voila, issue sorted. The second experience was when I contacted them to ask if and when they would be getting gigabit speeds. This was at a time that other providers were beginning to advertise the imminent release of this capability. The response I received effectively said, "We don't have it and do you not think we would reach out if we did considering it is a selling point?"
You can tell this company is owned(?) by or at least affiliated with Sky due to their approach to customer service.

Had my router delivered today 26/6/2025 I couldn’t set it up. Called the number & spoken to a Tim. He was professional & polite, really calm & didn’t rush me. He even said he will stay on the line to make sure the internet works on the other devices! Gave me his email to reply back to him if there was any issues. Total time maybe 30 minutes! Start to finish. Really can’t complain, great customer service. I would definitely recommend you use this company.

Awful service! There was maintenance work on 17/6/25 in my area and was told it was just 30 mins disruption. There are no internet networks until 18/6/25 10:37am. I rang the customer service line several times and they just kept saying the work is completed and should be back online soon. They requested us to re-set the hub every time we rang and still not networks! I checked my neighbours and they also have the same issues! There is clearly some mistakes on the work and no one takes any immediate action to fix it! My work is completely remote and now i am unable to work at my house but go to coffee shop. It is completely annoying and will consider to go to other provider when contract ends!

Very Disappointed – Still No Internet After OFNL Work
Since OFNL carried out line work near our estate yesterday afternoon, we have had no internet access at all. We called customer service last night to report the issue, but all they did was ask us to reset the white box (ONT). We followed the instructions carefully, but the internet was still not working this morning, and the issue continues to affect us now.
This outage has had a major impact on our family’s daily life and work, especially with so many things depending on a stable internet connection.
We also mentioned during the call that several of our neighbours are experiencing the same issue, clearly showing this is not an isolated case. However, when we called again this morning, your support team continued to insist that our white box must be faulty, without taking the wider problem into account.
We are extremely disappointed with how this has been handled so far. We expected better service, quicker action, and a more thorough understanding of the issue – especially when it’s clearly affecting multiple households.

This company disclaims any responsibility for the severely inadequate performance of our internet connection. We are unable to watch television via glass and currently lack a stable connection for remote work on MS Teams, which is adversely affecting my work. Despite rigorous troubleshooting efforts, the issues remain unresolved. I have repeatedly requested the presence of an engineer to assess our situation; however, my requests have been declined. Consequently, I am formally lodging a complaint and will be examining my rights under the Consumer Rights Act, as this service is evidently not fit for its intended purpose. I advise others to refrain from engaging with a company that appears solely driven by automated systems rather than prioritising customer experience.

I had been with this company for about five years, and the last year was an absolute disaster. I believe things started going downhill after they were acquired by Sky, especially since I had already had a terrible experience with Sky in the past. Every evening around 7–8 PM, there was no enough signal for streaming or online gaming, and even basic browsing on my phone became difficult - I often had to switch to 5G just to get a connection. After several calls to their customer service, where the usual and ridiculous responses were 'buy a Wi-Fi booster socket,' 'we guarantee the signal, not its strength,' and 'unfortunately, too many people are connected in the evening so the signal weakens,' I finally decided to leave and switch to a different provider.
