Do not use - this company is a scam operation

Please do not use this company, they are a total con. They prey on the elderly. They contacted my father when he was extremely vulnerable while my mother was ill, just before she died. They sold him not one but two policies, a month apart, for £199 each to cover a small portable TV which is not worth £200 never mind £400! And I understand that if you do try to claim on any of their policies, it is impossible to contact them. A totally immoral company. Please protect yourself and your money by having nothing to do with them.

Rip Off

I know this is shutting the door after the horse has bolted but Service Monkey would not return £240 to my mother for a miss-sold policy after agreeing to the refund in writing.
£240 to a 78 old pensioner is a lot of money- What type of director is Rob Sturgess for letting this happen !!

Sickening people who scam the elderly.

Just discovered this shower took £159.99 for 36 months cover on an electric cooker. Of course, don't ring them because you can't get through because they are a scam company who steal from 80 years olds.

Update 25/04 - Website now gone and Companies House filing late so they have "gone". Will keep tracking the director to see what pops up in its place.

Further update - Now reported to the FCA as they are selling warranties and are not regulated.

Update - Having gone through my father's record, I know see they took £620 over 18 months for warranties he did not need.

Update - I have reported the company to Trading Standards - let's see if they make any progress

Scam - shame on this company AVOID

I would give zero if I could. They have scammed my mum as this company simply takes money but does not deliver on the insurance. You can’t get through , they don’t respond to emails. It’s a scam scam scam. Please avoid. So angry at how the prey on a certain age demographic. Shame on them.

Terrible service don’t use

Terrible service so far contacted Service Monkey about a TV that’s stopped working and they have been fobbing me off for 2 weeks, “can’t get an engineer “ Have had numerous conversations on the phone but trying to get through is awful. Just spent 17 minutes on hold and trying again. I will never recommend based on this experience. Extremely disappointed with these guys.

have just read other reviews. They are exactly what we have experienced elderly Mum conned out of £199.

Be aware of this company

Be aware of this company, they target elderly people by phone. No terms and conditions have ever been received for the policies that have been taken out.

However are very quick to take their money.

I have called the customer service number and emailed them twice but have had no response

Scammers

Scammers. Avoid like the plague! They prey on the elderly, 'encourage' them to pay £199 over phone by card only and then treat this as though it is a legally-binding contract. It isn't. My elderly mum was lucky as her bank automatically closed her card account to stop payment. Obviously, the company is blacklisted on their system, which tells you all you need to know. Will be paying them a visit if they persist on trying to get money out of her. None of it is legal and the man who set it up has since gone one to set up another company to do the same thing. I cannot stress this enough: THE COMPANY ARE CON ARTISTS.

This company seem to prey on the…

This company seem to prey on the elderly selling them overpriced breakdown insurance policies for household items, that generally involve the policy costing more than the replacement cost of the item. Hardly an ethical business.

Update following the (since deleted) reply below, which claimed my review was inappropriate and did not represent what they did as a company. I have zero interest in listening to anything your company has to say. You cold called my mother despite her being on the Telephone Preference Service opt-out list, and convinced her to take out a vastly overpriced insurance policy. A quick sampling of genuine reviews here and elsewhere confirm this is precisely what you do as a company, despite your claims to the contrary.

One star is one too many.

These people contacted my elderly mother via phone 6 months ago (even though she is on TPS) and conned her out of £199 for appliance cover she neither wanted nor requested. They have demanded a further £199 out of her recently and, despite several phone calls (including 2 where they were going to phone me back but never did) and a letter which included the Power of Attorney for my mother informing them that they were not to take the payment, I have discovered today that they have taken the payment. They have, in my opinion, preyed on the vulnerability of an elderly person. I have researched this company. Their letters (which were increasingly harassing) contained no website listing, no email address and no policy number. They have no social media presence, which I find disturbing. I would avoid this company at all costs.

22/8/19 I received a reply to my review saying that they found it ‘inappropriate’, asking me to call them. I shall be having no contact with them and I stand by my review. When I have contacted them I have found them to be abrasive, rude and evasive. I have even been told on one occasion that the reviews on the internet were not for their company but for one of the same name in the same building. (I shall leave that one there....). Since posting my original review, I note that they have moved premises and somehow have managed to delete all the reviews on Google.

Scammers

Scammers, I had a call to say the warranty on our TV was running out and they needed to make sure our bank details were correct and updated and they were sending us a pack out and we had 14 days to change our minds. A short time after we got off the phone we had a message from our bank to say someone had tried to take money from our account but the bank didn't release the money. They have a website and they look genuine
