Excellent service once again!
We've used SGS for a number of jobs over the years, they are always easy to deal with, call when on the way, and carry out the job well.
I like that they email invoices to pay online, makes my life easy.
Another service on the boiler done today - all still in excellent condition.
Absolutely disgusting service 1star is still too much.
SGS were booked to come and look at an issue with a leak on our boiler - I waited in for the afternoon and no one showed up (my husband had a missed call from a private number but was at work no message left), when I called at 4pm to chase the engineer they said they couldn't find our home.
After a frustrating conversation they did manage to move stuff around to get to us the following day - so we gave them the benefit of the doubt and booked the repair in for this week yesterday 9-12 arrival.
Firstly they had obviously changed the time or booked it incorrectly, I chased at just after 12 as no one had arrived asking for an ETA, no one called me back so I called again half hour later and the told me at around 1pm they were on the way.
When they arrived they got on with the work and came to tell me it was all done and I'd receive the service paperwork via email great or so I thought, as they were leaving I quickly looked and the boiler cupboard was wonky and a part of it hanging off the wall - I managed to quickly stop them on the driveway to rectify (this is a pretty hard ask at 38weeks pregnant).
The younger lad came back in a continued to adjust the cupboard for 45minutes - he improved it but it wasn't perfect. The man that was training him just sat in the van... Poor guy in my house beating himself up (if this is how you support your staff I'm glad I don't work for you). I was told that a multi trader would come back to sort and I'd receive a phone call.
Then we get to today - I have received an invoice, no paperwork for the service and no talk of anyone coming back to the property, this tells me what kind of company SGS is, only caring about money rather than a level of service.
I have called to get this before paying any invoice only for the lady to get abrupt back with me and tell me there is no manager in and I'll receive a phone call tomorrow, I'm not holding my breath....
Just presented with an invoice for 90 pounds to tighten a compression fitting that they had fitted. Clearly covered by their workmanship warranty. Not for the first time have I have had problems with this company on warranty. If you use them be careful to keep your paperwork.
Needed an emergency electrical job doing at one of my customers houses yesterday. Called SGS and Dan was there within the hour. Did a fast, efficient job whilst being incredibly professional.
I would have no hesitation in recommending both Dan and SGS.
5 stars!! Highly recommend SGS. They always deliver. Customer service is excellent and always endeavour to send an engineer out as quickly as they can.
I am a landlord. I use SGS regularly. They are very efficient, professional and reliable. They liaise directly with my tenant and report back to me promptly. Highly recommended.
This company sent an engineer round to service our heating system, which was working perfectly. after he left, we first noticed a leak, and then that the boiler had been left at zero pressure. Multiple phone calls did not elicit a helpful response, with the company refusing to acknowledge the faults were the result of incompetent work by their technician and unwilling to give a date or time when they would attend to resolve the issue. AVOID THESE PEOPLE.
Will was polite, interested in finding the fault and considerate.
He listened attentively to all I had to report to him and discovered the problem.
He proffesionally explained the fault and advised me on what to do.
Thank you Will and SGS
Highly recommended.
My frail elderly mother has always used SGS to service her boiler. Without exception SGS is gentle, kind and courteous. Recently there was a small mixup on her bill and this was also dealt with exceptionally kindly. Highly recommend this company.

I have recently had a complete refurb on my en-suite bathroom provided by SGS with the bathroom equipment coming from Island bathrooms and the tiles from County tile warehouse. The SGS team led by Steve were very hard working especially during the recent heatwave. They turned up on time every day, worked throughout the day and tidied up after themselves at the end of each day. Like many building jobs it took longer than estimated but the cost remained the same as they did not charge by the day. Their quote was very competitive and apart from the tiler all the staff were SGS employees. I kept them busy with some minor modifications to the plan but never heard a word of complaint and the guys were great to chat to getting advice on other jobs I need to do myself. This is the third time I have had SGS do work on my house and whilst I would always get a comparison quote their 10 year workmanship guarantee is hard to beat.

Giving a three because on the whole have been happy with SGS. However we recently had a bathroom fan installed, they quoted for the job and then after we accepted the quote they charged us for the quote as well. Not usual business practice. Almost like buying a car and being charged extra for the engine.
PS SGS have now refunded the charge which was apparently in error

Booked an appointment to get a quote for a new boiler. No one turned up. No communication from SGS. Seems unreliable.

One of the lovely SGS drivers today drove his van through a muddy puddle to deliberately splash me as I stood on the pavement at the side of a road. I saw him look at me, then at the large puddle, then veer to the very side of the road at speed in order to soak me. Not to mention the dangerous driving by going way too close to the pavement, it speaks volumes about the type of person SGS employs. I for one will not be trusting them with any of my electrics/gas appliances.

I sent in a complaint after one of their drivers nearly crashed into me after cutting me off when I had right of way, and then proceeded to wind his window down and scream bl**dy murder at me. I never heard back. I've persuaded my family who used to use these people to never use them again, so they can kiss goodbye to that custom.

Phoned SGS last Tuesday about an issue with my boiler, they gave me an appointment the very next day. Nice lad called Steve turned up, very polite and clearly very knowledgeable.
He found the fault within about ten minutes. As you pay by the hour he stuck around to do some further checks serviced some other items and gave the boiler a clean bill of health.
Extremely happy with the service I received and I will now be signing up to their service plan.
total lack of communication for anything apart from a sale has characterised the job: not returning calls timeously, avoiding coming up till the last possible moment, no response to the updates sent and finally having to have the office lady "nail him down" to get the process completed and yet we were not even past step 1........ No explanation of the RHI application system and now we are left ineligible for RHI as an EPC had not been done in the 2 years prior to the comissioning date. You want to cost yourself 7k in revenue? Go to this company.
If anyone thinks this is a bit harsh then sue me. Truth is a perfect defense

I recently had SGS around to quote for a replacement 600 x 1200 radiator. The estimator open said it was about 4 hours work and quoted £650 + VAT. I had previously looked up the cost of the radiator and even being generous, it would have been £150. Therefore, SGS labour costs are £1000/day. What a joke. Subsequently had the work completed for £190.

Great electrician but not happy that I am charged £105 for a part that can be bought from Travis Perkins for £75 - when I challenged them they said that £105 was the price they had to buy them at! They made need to review their supplier contracts.....
Very helpful, quick service and polite.
We had SGS come out and service our gas fire. They were punctual, polite and really tidy. Would highly recommend.
