The two drivers were brilliant.

The two drivers, Mike and Paul went out of their way to give us a brilliant holiday, despite problems with the coach.
Nothing was too much trouble for them they really looked after us.
The hotel was very good, good food and comfortable.
It was an excellent trip.

Belly laughed all the way.

We just had the best time in the Wonderful Black Forest. Our drivers Keith & Jim were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. we made some wonderful new friends and I haven't belly laughed to the point of crying in years. Both Hotels we stayed in were very clean and tidy. The food in Germany was great and I recommend trying their huge selection of delicious cakes. Personally, I don't think this trip is for anyone with mobility or breathing issues. You may want to take your own pillow, as the German hotel ones were very flat and lumpy. Apart from that our Hotel was very welcoming. Breakfast was continental with a wide range to choose from and the dinners were German dishes, which were very tasty. Our only gripe, was the way our drivers were treated on our return to the UK in the Belgium hotel, where they were told they couldn't be seated and fed in the restaurant till 9pm. This is outrageous as they are the ones responsible in getting us from A to B safely, surly they should be a priority as they need their sleep. Andre, who we believe to be the kitchen manager, was extremely rude, walking away while my friend was trying to talk to him. Not only rude and unhelpful, he ignored any one that wanted to be served in favour of his friends. Several of us also noticed that he would put his work load on to the other member of staff Alexander, who was the complete opposite, kind, helpful, respectful and rushed off his feet. I hope Shearings' will look into to this. However, on the whole a really wonderful holiday with plenty of happy memories. Thank you. Already looking forward to our next trip away with you.

The Yorkshire Dales

The experienced driver was very friendly and helpful. He knew the North Yorkshire Dales like the back of his hand. The Holiday inn at Scotch Corner was clean and the food was good but buffet style, staff helpful and friendly. Though the hotel was a bit isolated, being situated on the Scotch Corner roundabout. Good value for the money👍

We went to Switzerland by coach

We went to Switzerland by coach, which is a lot of travelling, but, then, we knew that when we booked.
The Hotel, Seehotel Pilatus in Hergiswil was very good with excellent facilities, food and staff.
The week we were there suffered from rain (and snow one day) on every day barring one.., which affected the trip. The bus crew still took the trips that were planned, but, I think that they were not well planned. One day we were left to our own devices in a mountain village which was closed (shops cafes etc). On the last day we went to a mountain village and left for three hours and, again, the whole place was closed. There was nothing to do and we would,ve been better off back at the hotel.
On another day we spent a few hours in a town which had lots of shops/cafes, but they took us there on a Bank Holiday so everything was shut, Again!
I think the planning of trips should be adjusted according to conditions and not followed slavishly. There was a lot of discontent in the group and the tour could have been delivered better with a bit of flexibility.
This was our first such tour, and we compared it with others taken with companies providing guided tours which are much more informative and you learn about the areas you visit. I'm afraid I don't know much more about Switzerland than I did before.

Great service

When I phoned to talk about my booking as it had been cancelled, and to ask if I could book an alternative holiday, the girl who answered was extremely helpful and couldn't have done more to sort my request and new booking out. After feeling stressed initially I ended up feeling relaxed, confident and looking forward to my new holiday.

Chose an Express coach holiday to the…Italian and French Riverias

Chose an Express coach holiday to the Italian and French Riviera in May and stayed at the Hotel Bergamo and had a wonderful time.
The journey although long as expected was comfortable with plenty of space on the coach. I believe the Express Coaches have more leg room than the standard coaches. Dave and Rob our drivers/hosts on the journey were faultless, allowing us plenty of breaks and provided a brilliant selection of refreshments throughout the journey.
Having read several reviews prior to going we were a bit anxious about the Hotel Bergamo in San Bartolemeo. The Hotel is a reasonable size, traditional family run Italian style hotel, slightly past its best but still a lovely hotel. Located on the main road with a short walk to the seafront it was ideal. The breakfast was Continental with a good selection of pastries, croissants, cold meats and cheese, and exceptional coffee from a machine plus tea, hot chocolate and juices. The only downside was no selection of hot food. Hard boiled eggs were available and a reasonable toast machine.
Evening meals consisted of fresh salad and vegetables, several courses consisting of anti pasta, main and dessert with choices of fish, meat and vegetarian options. The food was served at the table not the usual buffet style by the very efficient staff, Enso, Elenor and one other.
Wine and beer was readily available at the table and the bar served free drinks from 6-10pm. Prosecco, Aperol spritzers, limoncello, local liquors and spirits were all readily available and served with a smile and joke with Ricardo (Ricki).
All in all this holiday was superb, with trips out to beautiful places the highlight being a visit to the Casino at Monte Carlo.
I would definitely recommend this holiday which provided good value for money.

Emmerdale and Coranation Street

Starting with our driver, Dave, this man was brilliant, a caring man who was there to keep his passengers updated with information, checked on everyone, and got us safely from A to B as quickly as possible.
We had a two-night stay at the Holiday Inn Brighouse Leeds. We had a number of issues with this property but did not allow the poor service, the food, and the standard to affect the tour.

Day 2: The Coronation Street experience was brilliant, with so much to see. Our guide, another Dave, was full of great information and knowledge. There was a lot to see and we walked the cobblestone street. Next, we visited Esholt where we saw the old Woolpack, then on to Skipton. Personally, Skipton could be removed from the tour as more time is needed to see the town fully. There was plenty of wonderful scenery as we traveled between locations.
Day 3: We returned home with lots of great Coronation Street, Woolpack, and landscape memories.

Nearly 6 hrs to get to London from Wolverhampton after about 10 pick ups … only 2 hrs free time in London then another 2 hrs to get to hotel dinner pushed back to 7.30 and very poor choice if you vegetarian… no courier on coach and wasn’t even a shearings coach … was no where to go outside of hotel as not the most desirable area … then 3 hrs in Oxford oh Sunday first time with shearings and definitely the last 😡

The holiday was really good

The holiday was really good, met some lovely people on the same trip. 5 stars for your 2 drivers Gary & Corey they work tirelessly and made sure we were all happy and enjoying ourselves. A credit to your company. Hotel staff were also brilliant. Day trips also really good. The only down side and the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 stars is the time length of the trip in Europe to and from destination. 15 hours journey is too long and uncomfortable in mine and many of the other customers. Surely that could be split to have another overnight stay en route.

Disappointed

We couldn’t fault the driver he was excellent but the pick up times were ridiculous, we had 3 hours of picking people up before we headed to London . Hotel was one hour 15 minutes from London and in traffic even longer, picked up at 7.50 had 45 minutes service stop , Hyde park 1.5 hours so got to hotel at 7 pm to be told dinner at 7.15 , a long day. Food that day was adequate not great 😌

We didn't like the hotel although the food was good it didn't have the personal touch shearings have always had. The hotel obviously is not used to coach parties and was a bit disorganised. The Corrie tour was great and the hotel staff very hard working and accommodating. It just lacked the personal touch. Our driver Dave was very helpful polite so no complaints there at all just didn't enjoy the hotel experience as we have before

On 11th may 2026 myself and my friend went to Eastbourne and came back on 15th may 2026 don't get me wrong we have had quite a few holidays with shearings and we have always had really nice hotels clean and tidy but this time the hotel was not up to standard when we arrived got the keys to room well what can I say bathroom was disgusting and the pedal bin in bathroom was not cleaned we had a room on third floor over looking fire escape the window needed painting tv not even dusted also the table same and bathroom where radiator was hadn't been cleaned and also behind the toilet and sink not been cleaned they did offer us another room but it was a double which we asked if they could change to single beds answer to that was no manager came to see us while were having dinner and said it would be cleaned next day we went out came nothing had been done apart from bathroom bin emptied but not cleaned so took it to reception and she got someone from house keeping to clean it but the room was never touched after that never stayed anywhere like it and I do hope that we never stay anywhere like it again but on a lighter note the food I have to say was very nice the hotel in question is the burlington hotel in Eastbourne and like I say we have never stayed anywhere like it the shearings driver Michael was wonderful I have to say

Just come back from a tour in Scotland

Just come back from a tour in Scotland. Isle of Mull and Tobermory. The tour driver Gavin was fantastic. Went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed pur holiday. Genuinely cares abouts his passengers. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Colomba Hotel served good fresh food. Rooms comfortable and clean. Only problem was hotel lift. Very small and dated. Can highly recommend this tour.
