Scamming Activities in Public Place: Potential Identity Theft and Misuse

This review is based on the interaction and communication made with Council personnel till July 2025 from December 2024.

In December 2024, dealt with Sheffield Council officer Ali Amini outside Sheffield Train Station, where he noted down my phone number in his notebook for sending SMS from Council. Because of the conversation, I missed my train. So, came out from train station and observed the behaviour of the office for few minutes.

As he exhibited violation of equality in public, I went to him and asked to display his Identity Card. He refused to show his full ID card and displayed only a fractional portion of the ID card hiding the entire photograph area, where only part of his surname was visible.

No SMS was received from Sheffield City Council, instead I got a letter from the officer Ali Amini which contained no signature or stamp of council. Soon after, I started getting calls from different international numbers, which were identified by my mobile as suspected scams. Also, I started getting fake SMS with One-time-Password or for password change request for my Crypto Currenncy account. My email ID started being flooded with crypto currency, finance, travel and holiday related spam emails.

Enquiry had been made and reply received from Tracy Rayworth, Interim Team Manager. The email showed great care to deal with the incident and clearly showed good amount of time and efforts spent by Tracy Rayworth. During the communication process with Tracy Rayworth, it was revealed that the half displayed printed name on the ID card of the officer was not fully correct. It was also confirmed that it wouldn't be common practice for Council service to send an SMS.

Request had been made to escalate the incident to further level along with the demand to provide the scanned copy of the officer’s ID card. In July 2025, the matter had been handed over to a senior manager and was supposed to get reply. No response received till end of February 2026.

So, overall review on the incident -

Public life disturbance,
Collecting personal information for False Reason,
Refusal of disclosing Identity,
Violation of Identity Documents and Identity Cards Laws,
Potential Identity Theft and Misuse,
Violation of Equality in Public,
Disappearance of senior management without resolving the escalated matter.

Pavements full of rotting leaves since the autumn in major roads leading up to the inner city hospital Royal Hallamshire and the schools of the area. Main city attractions like the Botanical Gardens are in the same road.

Roads full of potholes. A road in the same area - Broomgrove Rd - has been shut twice before in the recent past for repairs and now again it like driving on a rived bed.

Criminal conglomerates

I moved into Sheffield a year ago. I have found sheffield council to be the worst Council Ive ever had the misfortune of having to comply with. The structure of the service is appalling. They make NO provision for how their system changes affect people in real time. They lack coherence when discussing simple issues. They have zero respect for the fact that they have an effect on peoples lives and livelihood. They show no consideration or compassion for the people they support (badly) then try to assert themselves and flex ego and power dynamics rather than professionalism and competency. They send you in circles and threaten you if you say that you will seek legal assistance after the fact that they have declined a basic duty of care. They clearly don't understand their duty of care. They fail in all areas of safeguarding. They take people who advocate for themselves as a threat and try to override you with bully boy tactics. Over all they are a toxic sham. Ill prioritized mess with very limited communication skills and a blatant agenda of their own that does NOT serve the community correctly, or efficiently. They definitely need an audit and investigation.

Road Sweeper

The Road Sweeper came to Revill Lane S13 today and did an amazing job on the road and the paths. In the 43 years we have been living here we have never seen such a good job. Thank you

Excessive charges for bus lane infringement

24/12 - 'Merry Christmas@ Sheffield City Council, no response despite taking ALL my Christmas money.

I admit I travelled a couple of yards in the bus lane on Granville Road but to find me £115.00 + £70.00 late payment is disgraceful. I tried to advise that I had not received the original letter (we all know how unreliable the post is) but they only said I could appeal. No point as no one ever wins an appeal. I’m a 73 year old pensioner but they are only interested in claiming as much money as possible. No shopping for me for a couple of weeks.

Curupt Council

Curupt Council. Not for ill elderly or English people in anyway. They won't put Christmas lights up. But celebrate ead ect. Born English on housing lists been on for many years either taken off the list or pushed to the back. Political run. Every thing they do is against what honest people want and need. Run by political idiots. If your very ill 'old' English you have no chance of a home. Or offer you a place you DIDENT bid for in a hell hole of a dump. We're crime is high and english not spoken. And in a place eaven police don't go. Curupt cruel cowardly. Waste money on taken english flags down. But not fill pot holes in. They all need sacking. Curupt

Poor approach to supporting artists and…

Poor approach to supporting artists and the arts. The classical music scene in Sheffield is a disaster, and all music events are super expensive. Sheffield owned City Hall prefers to charge around 30% fees on top of ticket prices (most of which I presume goes to Ticketmaster and definitely not to the artists). I presume most of the pre-ticket price doesn't go to the artists either. The audiences are consequently poor. I prefer to vote with my feet and go to events elsewhere given these rip-off fees. The Council has no right to misuse public buildings, assets and trust in this way.

Is Sheffirld Council here to help it's customers!

I have been trying to change my council tax band for months. Sheffield council are obviously trying the best to disaude me. I have sent details of properties near me as requested to no avail. They have sent a phone number they say I need to use, I have tried twice with the same message that' they can't help' I have asked to speak to someone but to no avail. I believe they think if they continue in this vain I will give up. Is this the way to treat a customer.

Unclear Road Markings — Unfair PCN Issued

I received a PCN for allegedly parking on double yellow lines, but the markings at the location were either completely faded or not visible at all. There were no signs indicating any parking restrictions, and the condition of the road surface made it impossible to see any clear markings.

I challenged the PCN and provided photographic evidence, including the fact that several other vehicles were also parked in the same area — which clearly shows the restriction was not obvious to any driver. Despite this, my appeal was rejected without what felt like any real consideration.

I ended up paying the charge simply to prevent it from increasing, even though I believe it was issued unfairly. The system leaves drivers with little choice, even when there’s a legitimate dispute.

It’s unreasonable to issue fines where restrictions are not clearly marked or maintained. Drivers cannot be expected to follow rules that aren’t visibly in place. This has been a frustrating and disappointing experience, with no accountability from the council for the poor condition of the markings.

I don’t usually leave reviews — I try not to fixate on negative experiences — but this situation genuinely bothered me. The sheer lack of attention to both the condition of the road and the appeal left me no choice. One star is all I could give, and to be honest, it's only because I couldn’t leave less.

I'm trying to register on the Council…

I'm trying to register on the Council Tax site. I have been successfull with log in, answered all the security questions correctly, but I'm not recognised and advised to try again and to request a PIN. Done that but no response. There does not seem to be any way of contacting someone through the site.

Evidence discarded and ignored. Threat of arson just ignored by authority.

We were attacked just outside our own property because we decided to video record a someone who threaten to set our house on fire, basically arson. we asked few questions about their intention and the drunk and disorderly neighbour who could not handle his drink, begun physical assualt and property damage (smacking my phone off my hand 8 times). If it's sunny and my neighbour drinks you can count on Islamophobic and racial comments something very commen around here, also this was confirmed by the 101 operator who said "unfortunately we get alot of these phine calls during hot summer days when people drink" so i replied "so is ok for people to drink and become racist/Islamophobic biggots?". The operator seemed ashamed and condemned the actions of the biggots but nothing materilised. I kid you not even with clear footages from multiple witnesses, there was no action taken. This has been ongoing since 2024. We have informed sheffield city council and south yorkshire police both took no action so far. Even though there is over 12 separate clips, 3 different cctv. There is no justice here in Sheffield the council and the south Yorkshire police are both ineffective against clear racism and Islamophobic remarks and laughing about direct threat to burn my family home by Mr Woodward. Just ignored by the authorities completely.
Also just for clarity the sheffield city council neighbourhood officer chris mager confirmed in writting no action will be taken against the perpetrator and his son despite all the evidence submitted so do not be surprised when we label sheffield city council and south yorkshire police complicit in whatever harm that may happen to my family. We informed the authorities and organisational bodies but a racist system is a racist system. No justice for black, brown or muslims thats is the message received. Just remember no bad guy ever wins. Justice comes from Allah, I was just giving the system a chance to put things right which they did not for over a year.
My colour scares them (weaponised black ethnicity) That is why the racist biggots first hated the black and browns then Muslims. The pattern is as clear as day. If you are black, brown and Muslim no justice, but the biggots forget they have no power over their own fate yet alone my fate and future. Justice will be got whether you want it or not. We don't like to be oppressed and we don't oppress. We live for justice which you failed to bring forth so we will do it through the courts. Level playing field.

council rents personal review.

I have found out that the housing rents department had applied to the dwp to ask them to pay £342.36p out of my universal credit of £669.36p without first contacting me as i have struggled on both jsa and now uni credit i have too now decide same as before on who to pay and who not to pay.In my view the sheffield city council only cares about getting re-elected and allowing expensieve flats/apartments to be built too those who can afford the rent instead of helping people on low incomes survive and to help people who live on the streets in sheffield into accomadation repair houses on glossop road for this purpose and the same with the old park hill flats that are derilict.I was lucky to be a volunteer at the arches project and heard some truly heartbreaking stories from some of the clients in there. This council is not like the one i remember growing up in the late 1960,s and late 1970,s/80,s.we as sheffield citizens should stand up too the council and say enough is enough.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear

Oh dear oh dear oh dear ! Having read the reviews of Sheffield council tax telephone ‘service’ I have to admit that my expectations were not high …. But oh my God .. the council took that very low bar today and smashed way below it in spectacular fashion !
Having been on hold on the phone for 2 1/2 hours , slowly inching my way forwards from no 46 … I actually got to no 1 in the queue… so tantalisingly close and yet so very far …
The plinky Mozart music designed to soothe ( it didn’t ), throughout the ordeal … and messages of ‘All our staff are busy’ … suddenly changed after my epic wait .. to … Our office is now closed !! What ?? 2 1/2 hours and I’m 1st in the queue.. and you do this ?? Honestly .. this felt like a telephone equivalent of Squid games … good work Sheffield , that level of incompetency deserves recognition

Would give [-5] if possible.

Would give [-5] if possible.
As a disabled tenant, I am already navigating various challenges, and the presence of mould throughout the house, particularly in the kitchen, has significantly worsened my health. The mould not only creates an uninhabitable living environment but has also led to physical illness, making daily tasks increasingly difficult to manage.

The mould accumulating in various areas, including the walls, ceilings, and especially around plumbing fixtures in the kitchen, which has been a source of persistent moisture. This situation poses a significant risk to my health, as mould exposure can lead to respiratory issues, allergic reactions, and other serious complications. Paying for furnished but they won't replace not one item. Neighbourhood Officer it's just a spy for them!! ***the date is wrong - not sitting clicking like a mad man to prove I'm not a bot, to a ................ BOT

Do customer service exist?

I’ve phoned throughout the day and each time I’ve called I’ve been placed at number 45 in the queue - funny that. Makes me think their services don’t exist.

If anyone manages to get through to someone regarding Council tax then please let me know your secret.
