As a practicing psychiatrist, I have often consulted the SAC website in encouraging students who are in the admission process to medical schools. I find the information quite accurate to my own experience, although I know the process has become even more intense and more competitive. Several of my students have successfully gained admission. At this point, I was 3 years removed from my undergraduate studies working a job that was intended to supplement my medical school candidacy. Ultimately, my dream of going to medical school and becoming a physician was beginning to seem very bleak. However, SAC restored my confidence in myself as an applicant and eventual physician. They dissected my previous AMCAS applications to help me find ways to strengthen my candidacy. Not only did they assist me in finding opportunities to fill the weaknesses of my application, but they pushed me to creatively write about my impact on my past and current endeavors to impress admissions committees. After AMCAS was complete, the creative writing process continued throughout secondary applications to put forth the best possible application for each school. Ultimately, if you are an applicant with average statistics and are worried about ever being accepted into medical school, look no further than SAC. Alternatively, if you have outstanding statistics and impressive endeavors, investing in SAC will help you obtain acceptance letters from the prestigious medical schools of your dreams. I honestly cannot speak higher of my experience with SAC. Moreover, the difference between the application cycles I endured alone compared to the application cycle I tackled with the help of SAC is highlighted by multiple acceptance letters and many interview opportunities. If the investment price scares you like it once scared me, ask yourself: "Would I put a price on an acceptance letter from a medical school?" As someone who has gone through 3 application cycles, I can assure you that this process is something you will only want to do once. Investing in SAC is a surefire way to ensure that your first application cycle will be your last application cycle.

As I was a re-applicant, SAC helped me pinpoint what some of my weaknesses from my first application cycle were, specifically in my essay writing. My SAC advisors helped reframe my writing style to better emphasize my passion and reasons for "why medicine," ultimately aiding my receipt of multiple interview invites and capturing the attention of the admissions committee members that I had not captured in the previous application cycle.

This point regarding SAC's excellent writing advising cannot be emphasized enough. Receiving acceptances to medical schools requires not only excellent academic credentials and rich medically-pertinent experiences (which SAC will also ensure you possess in your application), but also a highly effective means of expressing your experiences and strengths. This expression is performed through writing, and I would recommend every pre-medical student to have his/her writing reviewed by experts to maximize the number of interview invites. Effective application-style writing is quite different from academic writing that most students are familiar with!

Once interviews started rolling in, I met with my primary advisor multiple times for mock interviews, eventually reaching a level of confidence and fluidity in speech that let me put my best foot forward on interview days.

Overall, I'd say that medical school is an investment, not only with finances but also with time. If you want to maximize your chances of an acceptances and limit the possibility of spending extra years and thousands of dollars on multiple application cycles (like I did) I would highly, highly recommend advising with SAC.

I came completely worried about the application process. I didn’t know where to start or what to write about in my essays. I struggled to figure out how to stand out where it’s easy to blend in with other applicants for schools with low acceptance rates. I heard too many stories of applicants having to reapply or barely getting accepted into a school they are reluctant to attend.

I was surprised at the timeliness of their responses and how they could help put together an effective game plan just based on an initial phone call, consultation session, and Google forms.
