I have been using Sherwoods now for around 3 years, often placing large orders for BBQ events. Their whole packer briskets are great value and cook really well considering they are leaner UK/Irish meat - I just trim less. I have also had fantastic results with their brisket points (I have smoked so many of these!) hot links, whole pork bellies etc. Food always comes extremely well packaged and remains frozen, and DPD have upped their delivery game too. On the single occasion I had a delivery issue which was DPDs fault, Sherwoods went out of their way to resolve it the same day and I had a DPD branch manager deliver the package.

I imagine 95% of briskets bought on planet earth are bought to smoke , just cooked the one i paid £88 for from ""sherwood foods"" << based in ireland ??? anyway , zero fat cap finished cooking under 1" thickness and three slashes in it that almost severed the thing they were so deep , not my first or even 20th time cooking a brisket but this was by far the worse brisket i have ever seen let alone paid for . i will never be using this company again unless i buy a brisket for dog food .PS was bought under my wifes name so please dont say you have no record of me buying from you .

I love bratwursts as I used to live in Northern Germany a few years ago and so I have good knowledge as to what a bratwurst should taste like and these are spot on , there the right size taste and texture . They arrived frozen and very well packaged with reusable frozen blocks which were still frozen solid . I've bought several packets of them to eat over the Xmas period and so I decided to try them tonight with Hella Currywurst Sauce that I bought from Amazon as I couldn't wait to try them and I have to say that they are just as I remember them . Thankyou Sherwoods for bringing back the memories for me and I will be back for more once these have run out .

I really wanted to like this company & I feel I've given them a fair shot by waiting to cook everything. I ordered 4 packs of 4 chicken legs, first pack was off after defrosting...i wasn't aware it came vacuum-packed & frozen so portioning isn't possible. The other 3 packs had next to no meat on very very bony legs. I ordered the ham shanks & although BB date was 2025 I wasn't prepared for them to have been packed in January 23 & I cooked them in the slow cooker for hours but they were dreadfully tough...the sirloin steaks were very nice though. All in all disappointing. Delivery is very expensive (you have to spend 60 for 7.95 delivery) & a 1.3% surcharge for paypal

I've used Sherwoods many times now. Especially around Christmas. Never been disappointed with the quality of the meat. There was once an item missing from my delivery. I called them up and they sent it out the next day. Every cut cooks perfectly, pork, beef and lamb. Yes, everything is frozen but you can actually refreeze meat. Most butchers get their supplies frozen then thaw them to sell which we freeze when we take them home. I'm still alive! Thank you Sherwoods.

Meat was delivered quickly and well packed/insulated. The only let downs are the high delivery charges (my deliver was £17.95), payment surcharge and the surprise that the meat was all frozen. This really isn't clear on the website until you search around to find it.
Frozen in large clumps means it can't be split down into portions so unless you intend to use the whole thing in one hit... Don't bother!

I have been pricing up for an order for a family BBQ this summer. I usually use John Davidsons butcher as their BBQ range has been excellent but thought I was price up with Sherwoods.

Even though after spending a fair amount I still need to pay for shipping at £7.95, then this is the main issue, a surcharge on payment for either Paypal or Stripe of 1.3%, not a massive amount but it is the principle of it, charging customers to pay you is beyond a joke, especially when you don't offer free delivery. Whoever thought this was a great idea needs a word, it has put me off spending and for any future orders.

Pork was decent, beef burgers were edible but nothing different from your local supermarket, but chicken was absolutely vile.
Diced chicken came frozen in a bag so you couldn't pull it apart or pemarinate - meaning the whole kg had to be defrosted and cooked together.
After cooking, was incredibly dry no matter how much we marinaded it - substantially inferior to any of our local supermarket chicken.

I ordered on the 3rd December to be delivered on the 9th December but have had no delivery and DPD messaged me on 3 occasions to tell me that my delivery would arrive on Sunday 11th. NO DELIVERY.
I would have given no stars had that been possible.

Good quality meat and service.
The selection of BBQ meat is better than most and the ribs actually have meat on the bone. I will definitely be using again.
The 6k pork belly is incredible value and very highly quality.

Bought at least two to three large 6 kg beef briskets for smoking. Superb!
Minimal trimming needed. 100% happy some of the best I’ve used. Top guys , top Irish beef!!

Don’t be fooled by the fancy descriptions, my 5 star restaurant grade fillet was an end of the tail not the middle cut as you would expect, very disappointed

Absolutely appalling quality. The meat standard, is in line with Lidl or Aldi, @ triple the price.
Don’t waste your time or money.

Such poor service following a missing delivery that I felt the need to be their first ever trustpilot review...

Following on from a parcel disappearing from my doorstep I raised a just query around redelivery. As a customer you have entered into a contract with me to deliver a product. When you approach a third party to deliver that is a contract between you and them when that fails that is for you to take up with them. I am still entitled to the product. So much so that I can claim back through my bank.

What irritates me is you think acceptable customer service is to call the customer and wash your hands of the issue. I'm not sure if your were 'skirting' around the insinuation that I was lying about the situation with the comment "it's fishy to me".

Quite frankly disgusted with the situation not a way to treat a customer.
