Effective and efficient

Initially for security reasons I had to challenge as why I should login into my personal bank a/c on Shieldpay portal which I questioned and was offered alternative method to input my bank details. 2nd option was acceptable and worked out well. Suggest both method should be made clear at the outset.

Excellent company

I Had confirmation of an emissions claim Friday 6th January, I was somewhat dubious about giving my bank details but after checking online they appeared to be legitimate company so I sent off my bank details to my surprise the money was paid into account 11th January. Three working days!!

Very fast and efficient service

Very fast and efficient service, however I was extremely wary of accessing my on line account via the link. I contacted the fraud team at Lloyd's bank who advised me not to proceed as it may well be a scam. I then contacted Shieldpay who understood my concerns and told me how to log into the system just using my sort code and account number. This I did and I recieved the money within 48 hrs.

Unlike many reviews I've read regarding…

Unlike many reviews I've read regarding shieldpay, my experience was very easy and quick.
Recieved an email out of the blue after I submitted my VW claim about 2 years ago.
I did set up a new bank account solely for the purpose of receiving this payment and to protect my normal everyday account. I Recieved the money in full a few days later

I was initially very concerned about…

I was initially very concerned about trust pilot I followed the instructions and after selecting my bank pressed continue \ confirm, my internet banking opened seemingly give full access to my account I immediately shut down and monitored my account for suspicious activity I suspect this may have been due to facial recognition on my phone. As a result of this I posted a negative review of sheildpay pay and the procedure, which I have since removed I had a relatively quick response from sheildpay ( posted Friday night, response Monday morning) which was reassuring and gave me alternative instructions I received the payment 2 days later, the process seems contrary to all advice about internet banking and the explanation of the process is not clear especially those of us who are not I.T savvy, a warning that by pressing continue your banking details will open would help. Had I not had this perceived problem it would have warranted 5stars and would like to thank Josh for his help, I was instructed to go to the bottom of the page displaying the bank logos, click cancel then enter my details manually which was name, account number and sort code. A much simpler and less alarming way.

No improvement from Sheildpay

I'm amazed that Sheildpay are continuing to carry on this manner of going against all good security behaviour. I was extremely concerned and distrustful when I received a payment via them last year and had several conversations with them.
My bank had barely heard of them - the only person in the bank was a junior teller, senior staff including the manager certainly told me NOT to pass the details on in the manner they were stipulating.
I did recommend to Sheildpay that they really, really should make the UK retail banking businesses who they are, what and how they do it and confirm their processes are secure.

System did not work

Please just send me a cheque in the post!
Just like dozens of other reviews i am trying to arrange payment after the VW case has been settled.
I use a mobile banking app on my phone - what you have to do goes against everything you have ever learnt about on-line security. I trusted the system as i believe its genuine - however after getting/giving access to my details it failed.. it then took me to a screen that asked me to fill out my details manually. it then asked me for a bank statement to be uploaded (which i do not have) and would not want to share with them anyway, so this failed.

Please a cheque would be easier, more secure, less stressful than all of this!

18/1/23 Update i have now had my settlement paid via a manual transfer - so i'm happy with that & have increased my star rating to 3/5.
i preferred this to allowing the system to have access to my online account.
I would say that Josh was very helpful in sorting out - it sounds like he is very busy with the amount of queries the shieldpay system is generating!

Can confirm Legit!

I received a random email out of the blue regarding a claim I put in 2 years ago for the VW emissions scandal. I did a lot of checks on both Milberg and Shieldpay before responding to the email. I'm still awaiting payment. I will update this when payment is received to confirm this is all Legit.

Update: Can confirm receipt of funds!

I am expecting a payment from a…

I am expecting a payment from a solicitor Milberg for diesel scandal shieldpay have asked me for bank details and more pictures of last 3 months statements ect this goes against everything we are taught about internet security not good no text back to recognise receipt of details sent or any notice of when payment would be sent update call from josh he’s reassured me everything is ok not received anything yet but will update when and when settled .paid by shieldpay now thanks josh no worries just a bit annoyed that Milberg solicitors took 25% for them selves seeing as the company paid all court costs! And now don’t answer emails asking for a breakdown of settlement

Joshua at shieldpay has emailed me to put my mind at rest and told me I should recive a payment end of this week. Looks to be legit to me and look forwards to the payment. Update still feel very very unsure. Update got payed out today 100% legit

Help

Hi,
To date ive received at least three emails from Sheildpay to verify my Bank details,so that i may receive my due compensation.Every time i complete the verification and enter my OTP i am taken back to sheildpay and then constantly taken back to verify again and i am getting no where fast. i have rang Sheildpay on two numbers,left my details on an answer service and have had as yet no contact...Help please! Chris Fay
Fantastic response from Sheildpay, i was contacted literally immediately by the most helpful Josh,who has rectified my issues and I am now awaiting my compensation payment. Brilliant customer service, thanks again Josh 👍

The system does not work......

What a useless system. I did not believe the bad reviews when I read them before completing my bank details. Now I realise the bad reviews are true. This company has not heard of INTELLIGENT FINANCE, a fantastic UK bank that has been around for decades. Yes it is a division of Bank of Scotland and part of Lloyds but it still does not work. Unbelievable.
