While there were endless super detailed instructions etc I needed more of a human to human interaction, so had to ask for it, as it was easier to walk a through things with someone on the phone.

In spite of a lot of information a couple of things were still missed, e.g. that I only have 3 days of free storage once good arrive to the port of destination. Would be useful to know in advance what to expect.

My shipment was delayed by a few days and before I chased no one even knew where it was.

Overall I am satisfied with the shipping etc.
But not with the UK office personal approach as would love involvement from the company side as it should not be just sending standardized info to everyone.

With the outset of covid and my belongings in storage in the UK and myself already located in the US.
i found 1st move international very professional and informative although it took me three years to finally be reunited the process was made easy and felt that i was looked after.
would definitely recommend the company and any associates connected.

We recently moved to Cyprus from the UK. Despite the fact that there was a delay due to the our moving load having to go on another ship (no fault of 1st Move) we received great customer service and our boxes and items were so safely wrapped and stored that they looked the same as when they were picked up. We were so pleased with the professionalism, communication and care they showed for both us and our items that I would have given 10stars if possible.

Small hiccups aside they made our move so stress less and breezy and we really appreciated them for that.

A great company. I had items shipped to me from the UK to Canada. I must say I was very impressed with 1st Move International from start to finish. This company deserves 5 stars. My items were from my mother's estate and very meaningful to me. They were there for any questions I had. They kept me informed throughout and helped with all the necessary paperwork. Everything was packed carefully and despite having many fragile items, nothing got broken. I would definitely recommend this company for shipping your items overseas.

After a few weeks of research we chose 1st Move (who were not the cheapest) but appeared to offer everything we required. I read some reviews which were both good and bad. (The bad made me wonder if we’d chose the right company to move our belongings) I can honestly say that whenever I had a query/question Tessa answered immediately. All staff that I had contact with were above and beyond helpful. We couldn’t fault the professionalism of the staff, even those that came to the house under Covid times.
We packed the majority of items ourselves and left anything of value that required insuring to 1st move.
Upon receiving our freight in Austin TX it was well packed, well sealed. Not a drop of moisture was visible anywhere. No items were damaged.
The US delivery company were indeed 1 man, so expect when it states curb side drop off, that’s exactly what you get unless there is an option to get them to unload within your property.
The only niggles I have is the small print really requires reading by everyone at the start of the process and familiarise yourself several weeks later, 4-6 week delivery was quoted, but that was a little on the optimistic side. I guess with all the world issues currently, it took 9 weeks door to door (but Covid is the new normal now and so this should always be factored in)
Watch out for little hidden charges at the destination delivery. Further taxes to pay. (Less than $100 but just a reminder that it’s in the small print)
Overall very satisfied and would recommend 1st Move to anyone and I’d certainly use them again if required.

My items were collected and packed on 23 Sept and it is now 20 Nov and we have still not received them. The communication with the local Miami shippers has been appalling. Patrick from the Long Island Office has been helpful but we then Got extra costs by the New Jersey team. Even in these extraordinary times I would hope there may be a smoother correspondence from collection to delivery

1st Move has cost us an absolute fortune and our belongings still haven't arrived! We were quoted £1,500 but charged £3,700 after collection despite packing less than we originally listed (and none of that was even furniture just toys and a few clothes/personal items!) We're still paying 'additional charges' for mandatory quarantine and no set date for delivery given. I've just received yet another email to say that they'll let us know if there are any other charges after paying out another £160 for mandatory quarantine because it wasn't covered in the £3,700!!

Really disappointed with the total lack of cost transparency and communication.

I hope our things arrive in perfect condition after all this!

The guys at first move did an excellent job of getting various parts and components together and well packed for my car Restoration in Australia, from initially talking to Tom in sales and then Tessa and Mike, they were really helpful in getting it sorted out, some items were not delivered and Tessa tracked them down to the next door premises!

Really happy with the level of service. The entire process was smooth, always on hand to answer questions. Couldn’t fault them!

Do not send your goods with this company.
They quoted me price for door to door delivery and assured me that everything was included in this price ,right from pick up from my home to delivery at my address in Chicago,USA, but when the shipment arrived in the US at new york port ,it was handled by third party and they asked for handling fees of 649 US dollars to send it to Chicago.I had already paid 2250 in Biritsh pounds after they collected the items and they told me everything was included in that price.
However In order for the goods to be sent to Chicago warehouse i paid another 649 US DOLLARS, two weeks after payment they confirmed that the shipment was available for collection, so we had to hire a Van to collect the pallets of shipment where they charged another 105 US dollars for processing fees and not to forget to add 149 US dollars for van rental just to bring the goods to my address.
I feel like I am scammed by this company.The shipment has costed me almost 3000 POUNDS which is way more than they actually quoted.(intially quoted 1791 GBP)
When you call them first time they say door to door delivery is included in the price quoted but when they actually bill you they write totally different and add exclusions and extra charges at the bottom of the invoice.

I had a great experience with 1st Move International moving my belongings from UK/ Reading to Canada/Ontario. Communications were easy and fast. The guys who packed my stuff were quick and efficient. I had many fragile items that needed an extra care. I was kept informed of each step along the way. Also, the initial quote ended up being slightly less once my things were weighed and packed up which was a bonus! On the Canadian side, I had to go to Immigration to get my stuff released due to some paper work needing to be signed but other than that, it was delivered all in a great condition and nothing missing. I would definitely recommend 1st Move International!

Very easy to organise the transportation of items to Australia

Their service is efficient and professional. Even though the goods got delivered over a week later than planned, it was nonetheless a smooth running experience.
