Don’t order if you want something to arrive for a specific date/occasion
Slow service, lack of customer service response to chase up emails sent. This is probably the third time that I have ordered items over a month ago which are yet to be delivered. Shipton not only charge for delivery but also charge for items at the time of ordering.

I have been buying jewellery from Shipton many years and I have always been delighted with my purchases. The jewellery is top quality and there's always something to buy for all price ranges. They're customer service is excellent and products are well packaged.

Easy to order and quick to despatch your item. You need to remember that everything in the brochure has been magnified and when you get the items they are always much smaller!

Poor Service
The item itself is good but the service is not. When I pay for postage (which many companies do not charge), I expect the order to arrive quickly. How strange then, that items I’d ordered from other places with free postage arrived much quicker! Other companies also do the courtesy of sending emails to say when an item has been dispatched and when to expect delivery. Not so with Shipton’s. The jewellery they sell is lovely but the poor service makes me wonder whether I’ll purchase from them again. One more point, the vouchers they send can only be used in their stores or on phone orders. Since I (and many others) order on line, I’m at a loss to understand this.

Pretty bracelet
Item arrived beautifully packaged and was lovely looking just as in the picture. The bracelet came with an extender for those with bigger wrists too. I knocked a star off as on this occasion the order took longer than two weeks to arrive although it was not an issue in this case as it was for myself and not a gift.

So disappointed!
I have ordered from this company for years and have always found them reliable. Unfortunately not this time. I placed an order on 7/8/25. When it hadn't arrived by 22/8/25 I contacted customer services by email. The automated reply said they would aim to get back to me in 24 hours. 5 days later I sent another email and then phoned on 29th August. I was told they were waiting for one item to come in. As two of the items in my order were birthday presents I asked if they could dispatch the part order as soon as possible and was told it would go out that day. Nothing by September 4th so I phoned again to be informed the partial order had not been dispatched as they were waiting for a different item! The lady I spoke to was helpful but told me they would not be able to dispatch my order that day. I felt it would have been courteous of Shiptons to inform me if there were problems with the order, rather than me doing all the chasing.
I cancelled the entire order and requested a full refund.
Sadly I will not be dealing with Shipton and Co again.

Made order via telephone, customer service personnel were very polite & pleasant to deal with. Order arrived within the expected delivery time. This isn't the first time I've ordered from Shipton & Co. As always very pleased with my items.

I ordered the 'Laughing Buddha' but was sent a smaller item (order no.114199)
I ordered the 'Laughing Buddha'. This was and still is described by Shipton’s as having a height of 5"-6". The item I received was 4" in height a significant reduction in the total volume of the semi precious Lapis Lazuli. No explanation about why I had received the smaller item. I emailed Shipton's customer service about my dissatisfaction concerning their misleading description and asked to receive the larger item. All I have received is an automated reply acknowledging my email but no explanation for their deceptive description or offer to replace the item sent with the one I ordered. Regrettably I have lost all faith in the honesty of this company and recommend that they be avoided.

They take too long to despatch items. 7-14 days is not really acceptable. Emailed them to find out where items were and they did not bother replying. Such a pity as they have some really lovely items.

Very rude customer service
I recently tried to place an order with Shipton & Co and the experience was appalling. The customer service agent I dealt with, Jan, was dismissive, rude, and completely unhelpful. When I asked for the total cost of my order halfway through, she flat-out said she didn’t want to go to another screen to check. I was spoken to like I was a nuisance rather than a paying customer.
This isn’t the first time either — I’ve spoken with Jan before and her attitude is always the same: argumentative, confrontational, and unprofessional. In my opinion, she is detrimental to the company’s reputation and is very likely driving customers away.
If this is the level of service Shipton & Co is willing to accept, I will have to seriously reconsider giving them any future business.

Dreadful mail order customer service
Telephoned to place order and was bounced around various queues until answered. Took 20 minutes to place order with call handler for two items only then for her to tell me the order total was over £100 than what the website quoted! Then told to ring customer services to do the same thing again except this time the product codes were saying completely different items to what I was ordering! Then eventually told one item was out of stock anyway! Complete waste of time trying to order from this firm. Catalogues have different product codes to website and they don't match with staff ordering system and prices are mismatched as well. As a first time customer, I've been completely put off. This company might be OK to make purchases from their shops but I would steer well clear of their mail order service!
