Fake Trek bike website!
This website claimed to be a big inventory sale on Trek bikes. It was set up with Trek's website, and their pics and item descriptions of their bikes and other merchandise. It had a countdown timer to show when the sale ended, but when I purchased a bike, the Paypal receipt didn't come back paid to Trek bikes, but instead to LAURIESTEWART at Facebook.com.
When I went back to the website, I realized it was separate from Trek's official website. I had gotten there from an Instagram Ad for a big season ending sale from Trek Bikes. When I went to cancel the order (because the website claimed you can cancel all orders until they ship and return all items within 14 days) there was nowhere to cancel the order, and nowhere on the entire website to contact the company.
In addition, most of the website was very elaborate and well designed, but the About Us page was weirdly phrased, with random odd characters like % that would have clued me in it was a scam if I'd checked that page. However, the return and cancellation policy pages looked professional and legit. This is definitely a scam, and I reported it to Paypal and also reported the ad on instagram.
