As a new flat owner, my only experience is with Simarc but from the moment they demanded 10k off the vendor to alter the lease review period which collapsed the sale to spurious demands for extra fees... See more

A few people have mentioned fees for renewing notices to sublet. Simarc tried this with me despite the lease saying I only had to register the underlying tenancy agreement which was rolling and not su... See more
Run for the hills rather than be saddled paying ground rent to this horrible company. Paid ground rent for years on time on receipt of demand. Got a reminder notice and went to pay and balance £110... See more

Terrible company
Terrible company, do not use if at all possible very unreasonable and poor communication.
criminals
possibly the worst customer service know to man they took over a ground rent account and never sent the required letters then added a 132 charge onto a 150 ground rent
criminal jackals
The worst
The worst. I agree with the other reviewers: Simarc are the worst company we have ever dealt with; our solicitor said the same and she deals with dozens of these companies. They don't respond to queries, they claim not to have received documents even when they have been signed for. They charged us an extortionate amount for a lease extension when we sold our flat, having already charged a fortune just for a quote. They then took so long to process it that our buyers' mortgage offer ran out. The ground rent was £50 a year but they charged us £288 for a reconciliation. But like the other reviewers we had no choice but to pay their unreasonable charges.
Absolutely dreadful
Absolutely dreadful! Their fees are outrageous. They are also draconian with dogmatic responses that are unsympathetic, unfair and frankly robotic. I have never before dealt with such an appalling firm. There are many other companies out there involved with lettings etc and I have never had any issues with other companies - dealings with them have been pleasant and I have received human responses - unfortunately, SIMARC is NOT one of those!! If only I didn't have to deal with them!!
Worst Company. Annual ground rent £202 they try charge sum of £732!!!!
I moved in to my flat 21.07.2018. Then I received first letter from they about "notice of transfer is missing" and I am charged fee for this. I did contact with my lawyer, based on leasehold terms no notice is required. No extra fee can apply. My annual ground rent is £202, they try to charge me £732. I will fight with them. People don't pay any money, please first take legal advice. Worst company ever I seen.
Get advice before you are scammed
Please do not pay these animals any money without taking advice first. Like hyenas they feed of the vulnerable or those in vulnerable situations. They use terminology like MAY or COULD to make you think they can. None of the workforce has any conscience and all know what they are doing to rip people off. Shame on them all.
In the past they have had 5 star reviews from reviewers who seem to have rated the exact same companies as each other, you decide!
Simarc is an unethical company charging…
Simarc is an unethical company charging extortionate late payment fees. They claim to have sent several reminders, when this is not true as I have only received one payment request. I have 2 properties and should have been charged £260.00 for ground rent, however without my knowledge they charged my card 2 seperate payments of £392.00 each. This is totally criminal and deceptive. I am now passing this matter to my lawyers to sue this company as well as open a petition for this company to be struck off for their illegal practices. To top it all off their staff are so so rude!!!
What can I say
What can I say, as a 'leaseholder' I have to pay these cowboys money for nothing, and if your late with your payments they almost DOUBLE the charges.
You have NO choice but to pay due to the way leasehold works in the UK.
You can call them, email them, tell them you were in hospital with cancer, they do not care, they will steal from you and its legal at this moment in time.
Leaseholders have little or no recourse.
