There’s me thinking selling my Mum’s house would be easier if I took the recommendation by the estate agents and also going with the same conveyancer company as the buyers, With the buyers being first time buyers too and us having no chain it couldn’t be any simpler No! (Joke) Well where do I begin!! The first few weeks getting all info and documents in is tedious as they only seem to work on a Friday so to reply or send anything to them they receive it all prompt Monday but then nothing is updated till the Friday again! So it’s drawn out for weeks then you get to the surveys which you then have a couple weeks for enquiries to come in No help from the Solicitor at any point with any paperwork to help you understand any jargon as they only work on a Friday!! So you try and muster through as you don’t want to delay the process and as you have no reference if you haven’t been through the process then you think it’s normal until your daughter is buying a house and you see how her Conveyancer Company is progressing.
What I want to know is why am I still waiting for contracts to be exchanged and a completion date 4 weeks from all enquiries satisfied being told waiting for deposit funds What for 4 weeks now? When you can transfer money in a day I am baffled you have to prove ready available deposit funds like my daughter had too! Just constant delay tactics it’s not good enough!! I don’t know what I am paying money for because my Solicitor isn’t constantly chasing them especially when they work in the same building for the same company!!!! Shocking!!!! And to top it all now they are all on holiday at the same time even the Buyers!!!!
