i placed my order 4/26 and was charged immediately and have recieved no product. i have emailed and called countless times and the voicemail box is full. i have now filed a dispute with my bank. absolutely ridiculous and A SCAM!

Thieves

I ordered from them and have not received anything and no response from them by phone or email. I can see by reviews that I am not the only one. We need to figure out how to protect others from this business. I’m going to contact the BBB and if anyone has a better idea, let’s share.

Never shipped, never answers phone/emails

ordered a pair of $130 skates that never came. The website says the order is still pending but they took my money so I expected something to ship. I have spent the last month calling and emailing them with no response, I have even reached out to contacting them on their social media platforms but get no response even though Twitter shows they have been active on their page!!!!

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever. I made an order with this company weeks ago and paid for 2-day shipping. I have called several times and never have been able to get through to an actual human. The voicemail box has been full and when I have been able to leave an actual message I never get a call back. No response or acknowledgment whatsoever from emails. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

I ordered just a couple small things, and when I realized that I should have received the items I sent an email to them. I never got a response, so I tried contacting them again through their website. I had been charged for the items. They never responded back to me. Buy from a local skate shop, or even from Amazon; don't give these people any more money.

Ordered Skates on 2/19/2020 $549.00…

Ordered Skates on 2/19/2020 $549.00 charged to my account and a receipt emailed to me. As of 2/26/2020 I can not get any response from email/ text or message I left as to what the status of my order is. I made an account on the website to check the status of my order and it tells me that I do not have an order so this concerns me considering the fact my CC has been charged $549.00 and I have an order number and confirmation email. Both numbers 1-800-554-1235 and 1-415-377-3131 are either full voice mail for a Carol Sloan or it just rings and tells you to leave a message or text. Well I have done it all and I haven't gotten a response. I am going to assume I have been scammed and warn others to not order from skates.com!!!!!!!

Contact your credit card company for a refund or lose your money!

I won't repeat everything in all the other online reviews since 2009. Instead I'll keep it short with a new review for 2019. If you order from skates.com aka skatesonhaight.com your credit card will be charged immediately not during or after shipment and it is impossible to contact them where you will get a response to get a shipment confirmation. Your only course of action is to contact your credit card company and ask for them to refund your money because even the link to cancel the order is a broken link on the website. You have been warned. These people have been at this scam off and on for over 10 years if you read all the reviews from the various other websites.

When they ship you the wrong product…

When they ship you the wrong product and then charge you for "restocking", that's BS. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Plenty of other resellers out there. Carol at Skates.com was terrible. Emails go unanswered, 30% restocking fee when they ship you the wrong product when you specified the exact size on the order. LAME AND DISHONEST.

I ordered my skates on March 1st for my sons birthday party on March 23rd. There was a 9 day shipping expectation via my receipt. It is now March 19th and I still have not received them. I called the other day & the lady told me to call back Monday because it was “too late” for her to track my order, and immediately tried to refund me my money instead of trying to find a better solution. I emailed them last night, and still have not received an email back. I just called and “Linda Williams” who tried to tell me she was a manager. Come to find out SHES NOT. “Linda Williams” then proceeded to tell me that they have been talking about my order all morning, and “THEY ARE AWARE THEY DROPPED THE BALL”. You would think they would have contacted me, but it’s obvious they do not value their customers. I told her I wanted my skates expedited like I was offered by the last lady I spoke to, and I wanted my shipping refunded. Instead of making ME THE CUSTOMER happy by giving me what they offered originally.. she went ahead and took it upon HERSELF to refund me ALL my money. I understand that I was a bit pissy over the phone, but I have every right to be considering THEY dropped the ball. Sadly I had two more orders that I was going to place with them, but with the crappy customer service they provide I will NEVER order from here again. Pay the extra money and go somewhere else.
You’ve been warned!!

Worse return policy ever

This company might have the worse return policy I have ever encountered. Do not order from them. I am still trying to get a refund for skates I purchased. I have lost $50 just in shipping and restocking because I thought I was getting a good deal on the skates. It is not a good deal. Either find a place locally that sells or order from amazon.com or a reputable sporting good store.

Rude Customer Service, webpage not truthfull about shipping

Extremelly rude, webpages does not state the true time of shipping.
Placed an order on friday and paid for a 1 day shipping, they called on the following monday telling me that it's going to take 5 days for shipping after it's proccess in 1 to 2 days.
So cancelled the order, and the guy gets pissed and hangs up on me.

Great all around treatment and service.

I have read some unsatisfactory reviews about this company but I desperately needed some replacement wheels for my inline skates and a new set of brake pads. To be very honest I didn't have the slightest clue about the size wheels I needed or brakepads. I spoke with Cust Serv Rep Rubin. He had excellent knowledge of my set up, come to find out my skates are called Hi-Lo skates, meaning they have 2 different size wheels for an enhanced overall ride ( I did not know that). While they didn't have my exact model wheels, they did have the correct sizes I needed. After reading a review about the return policy I took it upon myself as a consumer to inquire about the return policy, I mean (as a comsumer we do have certain responsibilities to arm OURSELVES with as much as information as possible BEFORE making a purchase). He was very patient with me and explained the return policy in great length. Though I may not have agreed with having to pay for shipping both ways, in case the merchandise didn't fit properly, I was very pleased with the tips he provided me with to ensure I did get the correct size to avoid a possible return. He advised me on several different topics, ranging from navigating the site to what shipping time frames I could expect, what merchandise comes from which warehouses and availability of items. I think people need to take responsibilty for their own purchases and mistakes and I really feel like some of this has alot to do with buyers remorse. As a small business owner myself, I see alot of this and I am truly happy I gave them shot and didn't rush to judgement based on the opinions of others.

Timely shipping however poor customer service after the sale. Call the new sales line to get help. It is buried under the help link in the corner of the page.

If the skates don't fit, they will take them back. BUT...You WILL PAY shipping, you WILL PAY restocking and there on NO EXCHANGES. You will have to ORDER AGAIN, pay shipping if applicable, and wait an additional 3-4 weeks. If the size you need is not available, any discounts for shipping is not transferable to a different skate.

I ended up paying $35 to get NOTHING. BUYER BEWARE BUY LOCAL!!
