Rented skis from YOLO sports

Rented skis from YOLO sports , Les Gets. Someone took my skis near the end of my trip. I reported this ASAP. I was charged €100 for stolen/lost skis. I have since had it confirmed that the skis were returned. I am still awaiting my refund despite being told that I will be refunded several times. Their administration is appalling. Either lock up your rented skis or don’t bother renting from YOLO SPORTS LES GETS. They appear to be very economical with the truth.

AVOID: Poor Stock, Unsuitable Gear, and Refund Refusal

Beware of Ski Republic Arc 1950 - Spirit. My experience was a series of service failures that ended in a denied refund for equipment I never even used.

Poor Inventory: Despite booking in advance, the shop lacked basic stock. They did not even have the standard basic models available that were promised in my reservation (I reserved standard piste-skis).

Inappropriate Equipment: As a piste-only skier, I was only offered wide all-mountain skis. When I explained these were unsuitable and harder for me to maneuver on groomed runs, the shop had no appropriate alternatives to offer, and even considered it as an upgrade.

Refund Dishonesty: I returned the equipment immediately without using it. The shop staff told me I had to contact customer support for a refund since I booked online. However, customer support declined my request because the shop owner claimed they offered "good skis" and that I simply refused them. This is a blatant misrepresentation of the fact that they simply didn't have the correct category of gear for my skiing level and style.

Save yourself the frustration. Book with a shop that carries proper stock and treats customers honestly.

Professional service and good gear

From my initial email request to reserve a locker, I received an immediate and courteous reply. Upon arrival at Richard 3 Ski Republic, 105 rue du Pic Blanc, Alpe d'Huez, Xavier and the team gave us their full attention. The equipment was of good quality, and the location, 'Ski to door' for us. Settling the bill at the end of the week was transparent and correct. All around, a very professional service was delivered with courtesy. Well done, Xavier and Couran. A Bientot.

Old tired equipment

Old tired equipment. I feel bad leaving a poor review as the guys in the shop were so helpful but the snowboard kit was very poor. Paid extra for premium kit which usually (I thought) means this years new gear, dont bother there is no distinction. Both my son and I had so many problems with old knackered boots we, after 6 trips back to the shop and much time wasted, eventually switched to skis and the equipment was better, One pair of boots I was given on the second return to try sort out pain and bruising I was told was 2-3 seasons old! Premium? I dont think so.

Used ski republic at val cenis

Used ski republic at val cenis. Utterly appalling. They used my daughter (child) to sign my credit card approval without my knowledge. Charged me for a broken pole that I had used all week with no problems. He broke it over his knee. Do not use

Pricey

180 euros for 6 days board hire seems unbelievably expensive.

I think I was ripped off.
