Waiting times do not match

Waiting times do not match with what receptionist tell you. I emailed asking about wait times for titration as it has been 13 weeks since my assessment, and the website says the wait is up to 16 weeks post assessment. I had a response saying that the expected wait times is 5 months from when I was added to the waitlist (which was about 5 weeks after my assessment when I was sent the link to sign up). This is a significant difference and if I had been aware of that the wait times on their website was not at all accurate I might have chosen a different provider. Disappointing that there is a lack of transparency around wait times.

Very Happy with the Assessment

The call took place on time, was very friendly, didn't feel uncomfortable. Everything was explained in a way that was easy to understand, and although not everyone gets a diagnosis straight away, I was lucky enough to get one on the day. They will now work on conjunction with my GP to allow me to gain access to all the help and support I need. Highly recommend.

ADHD assessment

I was assessed by Debbie. I was feeling anxious and she makes me feel comfortable.
We went through challenging questions and memories. She was constantly ensuring that I was okay to continue and shows compassion.

The technology was not great and didn’t work very well during my first appointment. After my first appointment, it ended abruptly because we ran out of time because of the tech issues and I was left waiting over a week for a discussion about what I had shared during an appointment which I found very stressful. The assessor I spoke with was very pleasant.

A Compassionate and Empowering ADHD Assessment

I would like to provide some feedback from my ADHD Assessment today with Ms Benazir Chaudhury.

I cannot speak highly enough of the clinician who carried out my ADHD assessment. From the very beginning, Benazir made me feel safe, understood and completely at ease. She explained the assessment process clearly and reassured me that it was a supportive conversation rather than an interrogation, which immediately helped to reduce my anxiety.

Throughout the assessment, Benazir was incredibly patient, compassionate and encouraging. She listened carefully to my experiences and helped me to understand how my lifelong difficulties fitted together. I felt genuinely seen as a whole person rather than simply being assessed against a checklist.

What meant the most to me was the way she acknowledged how much I had achieved throughout my life without knowing that I had both autism and ADHD, or having the right support in place. She encouraged me to feel proud of myself and helped me to recognise my resilience rather than focusing only on my struggles. Her words were incredibly validating and emotional for me.

As someone studying psychology and counselling, I was especially impressed by her ability to use counselling skills so naturally and sensitively when working with a neurodivergent person. She clearly understands the importance of building trust, recognising masking, allowing time to process information and creating a space where someone can speak openly without feeling judged.

Benazir was kind, knowledgeable, affirming and exceptionally skilled in working with the neurodivergent community. I finished the assessment feeling understood, hopeful and proud of how far I have come. I am extremely grateful for the care and encouragement she gave me and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone going through an ADHD assessment.

Outstanding service from Skylight and…

Outstanding service from Skylight and Megan Fishburn is absolutely brilliant

Both my partner and I went through ADHD assessment and titration with Skylight Psychiatry, and we honestly had such a positive experience.

The assessment process went really smoothly. Everyone we dealt with was professional, kind and considerate, and the final reports were extremely detailed and took account of all the additional information we provided. We felt properly listened to and could tell that a lot of care had gone into understanding us as individuals.

We were then both lucky enough to have Megan Fishburn as our prescriber during titration, and she was absolutely amazing from start to finish.

Megan is so kind, patient, understanding and easy to talk to. She never ever made us feel judged or abnormal, and she always explained things in a clear, relatable way that we could actually understand. She listened to what we wanted and hoped to achieve while making sure everything was safe and properly monitored.

Titration can be confusing and stressful because quite a lot can change in a fairly short time, but Megan always had sensible advice and practical solutions. She took our individual difficulties seriously and adjusted things around our specific needs rather than making the process feel generic or one-size-fits-all.

She made us feel heard, understood and genuinely cared about as people rather than like two more patients on a list. It was clear she cares deeply for all of her patients and wants to see them thrive throughout the process.

Megan helped both of us enormously, but her support made a particularly important difference to my partner. He had struggled for years to understand his difficulties, communicate when something was wrong and ask other people for help. He often felt as though people saw him as lazy or making excuses.

Through this process, he has started to understand that his difficulties are not an excuse, but they are an explanation. He can learn to work with them rather than constantly blaming himself or feeling inadequate or broken. That change in his confidence and outlook has honestly meant so much to both of us, and I think the understanding Megan gave him has gone hand in hand with the benefits of medication.

The wider Skylight team were also consistently supportive, responsive and accommodating, particularly when there were difficulties involving work and mental health. Communication was excellent, emails were answered quickly and helpfully, and we never felt ignored, confused or left wondering what was happening.

We went through Skylight using NHS Right to Choose. There was a wait because titration had not yet opened when we were first referred, but the assessments, diagnosis and reports were dealt with promptly, and we were kept updated throughout, and Skylight kept all theur patients updated wirh regards to titration (the delay was outside of their control which we understood and appreciated) but were happy to wait and knew the service would be worth it. Thankfully titration is now in full force and we had no issues scheduling our regular appointments, availability was always excellent and eveything was on time and well organised with alerts and reminders throughout.

We are now moving into shared care, and sad that we will only be seeing Megan once a year, but it is incredibly reassuring to know that we remain under Skylight and can contact them or Megan again whenever we need help. We don’t feel as though we have simply been discharged and left to manage alone, we still feel incredibly supported.

Megan is genuinely brilliant at her job, and Skylight should be extremely proud to have her. We really couldn’t have asked for a better nurse or a better experience of titration.

We are endlessly grateful to Megan and the whole Skylight team for their care, hard work, dedication and professionalism.

I have friends who chose other Right to Choose providers and sadly had very different experiences, so I would strongly recommend researching the quality of the service rather than choosing based only on waiting times.

Skylight has been a reliable, professional and genuinely caring service, and we would recommend them without hesitation. A real positive life-changing experience.

Everyone was friendly and kind

Everyone was friendly and kind. When I forgot to fill out one form, I was given information about where to go and the next steps towards my assessment. I have had a great experience with Skylight and would 10/10 recommend.

Doctor Nisheeth was very kind and understand. I was nervous about a video appointment and he was very helpful. At the end of the session I was given a diagnosis result straight away.
After the appointment I received a test message almost immediately confirming the next steps.

Excellent experience made so easy

Excellent experience made so easy. My assessment was with Lara and I can honestly say Lara made me feel so at ease and by the end of it I was diagnosed with ADHD with a score of 9/9 on all 3 parts. Getting the right diagnosis now opens up the doors that I now have the access to so I can get the treatment that I so need. Thank you skylight and thank you Lara. Ps time to start my real life even if it is at 46 years old, but hey.... it's never too late right? 👍

Excellent and supportive

Communication leading to my assessment was clear and excellent and quick response times.
Being very anxious during my appointment, the assessor was very engaging and supportive, working hard to put me at my ease. The assessment was professional and thorough. I was given time to provide answers without feeling pressured. When I struggled, the assessor helped me to refocus. Feedback at the end was clear and I was given time to ask any questions that I had.
Thank you so much Skylight.

Amazing Experience

I was referred to Skylight by my GP, and the process was very quick and easy. I neglected the questionnaires for a long time, and Skylight were extremely forgiving. My Assessor, Edward Hurst, was incredibly kind, wise, and easy to communicate with. This was the only good experience from a mental health assessment I’ve ever had
