I went through right to choose via NHS, all within a month I had been sent my assessment forms to fill out, given my date for my remote assessment call, which I had yesterday. The nurse I had Wioleta was lovely, she made me feel comfortable and she just let me be me. She explained the outline of what the call would be and then at the end of my call I got my diagnosis. She then informed me of when I will receive my report then the options of what I could do next. She was very professional explained things to me.
The appointment came really quickly less from 6 weeks.
The process was very easy with straight forward procedures and did not make it complicated.
The face to face appointment was professional although on a friendly basis. I was made to feel relaxed and comfortable.
I felt listened to and was definitely understood.
It was comforting to be able to talk freely and not feel judged on any level.
Result was given at the end of the session.
Excellent communication
My experience with Skylight was amazing, during my assessment the person I was talking to was very helpful and understanding and patient with me, it made me feel appreciated and listened to
After using right to choose I have been referred to Skylight.
I recently had my assessment with Monique after a short wait following referral.
Monique was very patient, kind and gentle.
She made the whole process seem less daunting.
So far I am very pleased with how I have been looked after.
Thank you very much.
Very efficient, quicker waiting times, communicated with compassion
My assessor, Monique Thompson, really made me feel comfortable and the whole assessment was completed at my own pace and she really took the time to understand my difficulties. When she noticed I was upset by the outcome (diagnosed ADHD) she was super kind and reassuring and pointed me to some good resources to help me gain a better understanding of how my brain works.
In addition to this, the process from referral to assessment so far has been extremely quick and efficient (after waiting more than a year previously on the NHS waiting list).
I am very much looking forward to starting my medication titration and moving forward with my life. Thanks again Monique!
Brilliant people who care, a very strange time in my life made better by reassurance and support. Thankyou.
I was very nervous about the assessment but in the end found it a positive experience. My assessment was handled very well in a professional but friendly manner.
I had my appointment booked very quickly after I finished my paperwork! I had CJ who was lovely and kind and very thorough in the assessment! I was pleased with the time taken and the outcome
When a trans person kindly corrects pronouns and preferred name after it's not been used, after sending it in a form prior, it should not be listed in the system as "[deadname] (prefer to be called X)". Use one or the other, either my legal name (for formalities sake, uniform across all forms, and legally tied) or the name I said I prefer hearing (because that's the only one I want to see in texts and emails). I don't blame anyone in specific but kindly ask for the next trans person after me to not have to experience this. It looks unprofessional.
The gentleman who completed my assessment was lovely and very understanding.
I feel much better now I’ve been assessed and it’s good to know services users are sign posted for help and guidance.
I was very impressed with how my assessment with Dr Bernhard Kelley-Patterson was conducted. I felt listened to and understood. The assessment was very thorough - nearly two hours - but felt pleasant and natural, it didn't make me feel anxious in the slightest. I came out of it feeling I had done the right thing addressing my issues and going through with finding help.
I can't thank Skylight Psychiatry/Miss Thompson/Mr Shoko enough for their professionalism and care with myself. I wish I had used them many years ago. 5*
Assessments are still ongoing, but I feel like I am getting somewhere at last. The NHS waiting times are ridiculous, tried right to choose and I was surprised at how soon I got an appointment.
Very grounding very welcoming and safe to open up was nice to get the closure that
I needed, big up skylight psychiatry!! Positive experience definitely
Really positive experience - assessor was clear and supportive and found the assessment far less draining that expected!
The assessor was very patient and explained everything to me. He was very informative and explained all the next stages.
Didn’t have to wait long at all from the day of my referral through to my assessment, everything was explained effieciently to me, Monique was happy to take her time with me and when I was given my diagnosis at the end of the referral Monique took her time to talk through and explain everything to me
I can honestly say that my video call with RHEA was an experience I was dreading but instead the very welcoming and professionalism of this specialist was so calming for me and after diagnosis of ADHD I had a tear in my eyes. Not too sure I would have felt as comfortable as I did with anyone else. Waiting times were minimal and very very grateful for their support.highly recommend them
