I purchased a phone from smggsm.com a year ago. I submitted the required information to activate my Accidental Damage Coverage. Upon contacting the insurer, CPS, I was informed that (even though they received the information I submitted) smggsm had not purchase any protection coverage from them in 2 years. I'm out the money I paid for the coverage.
smggsm.com claims to be BBB accredited when, in fact, they are not. They also market warranty services and accidental protection through CPS who hasn't sold them a product in 2 years.
How much more clearly can this company reek of defrauding its customers?
This company charged my paypal account twice for the same item. I contacted the company 15 minutes after the order was placed requesting a cancellation before shipment and it took them 4 days to contact me. You cannot speak to a person when calling the # and instead must leave a transcribed message. When they finally did contact me they were not helpful in resolving the issue and would not return the item without me incurring return shipping charges and a restocking fee. Very shady company. I would not recommend that anyone do business with them.
