soffits and fascia…
We recently had our soffits and fascia replaced by Smith glass LTD, this was not just a simple stick New boards on top of the old ones, this was a complete removal and replacement of soffits and fascia, from the start of installation to the end it was very professional, scaffolding company were very good very careful especially around our conservatory,as for the fitters Lee and his young sidekick James were great very professional polite and tidy, cannot fault the workmanship done we are over the moon with the results,if I had any questions Lee would explain it all, thanks lads

We are very happy with our new windows and the way they were put in. The workmen were lovely and polite and so very tidy. When they finished our home look like they’d never been, apart from the new windows that is.

Conservatory roof
As my original roof had been up over 20 years and it was cold in the winter and really hot in the summer I had a new roof put on. I was very impressed with the salesman and the installers of the roof. They were all very polite and cleared up after themselves leaving everywhere neat and tidy. I also had a follow up phone call after making sure everything was alright. I would definitely recommend the company.

Always punctual, polite workers. Clean, tidy workmanship, no damage to decor or property. First class finish to all windows & doors. Disappointment
The windows improve the look of the rooms. The fitters who did the job were very efficient and helpful and they did a very good job. However this morning I was disappointed to find that there was some condensation on the windows as I had understood that the replacement windows would cure this problem.

Good Afternoon and thank you for your review.
I am sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with your new windows however there is a solution to your problem.
If the misting is between the glass panes (you cannot wipe it off) then this means the units have failed and you will need to have these replaced under your guarantee however I believe following our conversation previously this is not the case and it is surface condensation.
With having new double glazing the new windows will be better insulating your property, as the old windows were wood it is likely that this difference will be very noticeable and although a positive is cheaper heating bills one negative is the possibility of encountering condensation due to increased air tightness.
The solution to this is to ensure that adequate ventilation is happening and steps are taken to reduce air moisture in rooms, not only is this a damp causing problem it is also not good for people's health, a big cause of this for example is people drying clothes and other items on racks however the solution can be as simple as using the installed trickle vents or opening the window to the night vent position, if this is not enough to resolve the problem then a dehumidifier can also help.
Although it is annoying when this happens please just be assured that this means the new double glazing is working perfectly as it should be.

my wife noticed a tiny crack in the bottom corner of the glass in a kitchen fan light when she was on the steps cleaning the tops of kitchen cupboards...I rang Smiths and they flatly refused to come out and replace it..the windows were installed 11 months ago..the guy told me I must have cracked it or someones kicked a ball against..I explained that was not possible as I have never even opened the top fan light..you cant reach it without a ladder for a start and I have a lower larger window..he told me I should have inspected all the windows when they were installed...even it it meant climbing a ladder to inspect them???.....would I recommend these people no I would not.

It is a shame that you have felt the need to leave a negative review to try and reflect badly on our company considering the large amount of works that we did for you in November 2021 are absolutely perfect. Today you called up expecting a cracked piece of glass to be changed 11 months after an installation and we politely informed you that cracks to glass are not covered beyond the time of installation and any issues such as cracks should have been reported previously, we explained the reason for this is that glass does not just crack of its own accord and that there must be a reason for the crack such as for example a ball could have hit it or somebody could have thrown a stone, issues that are not covered under the guarantee as they are caused by a third party.
You did not give us the opportunity to inform you that we do offer a service to our existing customers where we will fit the replacement unit required free of charge when our engineer is passing however you would need to purchase a new unit because you hung up the phone after swearing at us.
We have done absolutely nothing wrong and to now leave us a negative review is abhorrent.
New UPVC sliding Patio doors
just had my very old heavy steel sliding patio doors replaced with lightweight UPVC, they look very smart and glide like a feather, job well done, thank you Smiths.

Conservatory refurbished.
We placed an order for our conservatory to be updated with a new blue glass roof which we are very pleased with, but in the beginning we had doubts if it would ever get done. But when Smiths changed their installation manager to Chris everything changed for the better, so thank you Chris job well done.
