The music is generally easy to listen to but unfortunately the same tracks are played over and over, every night. There needs to be more variety

The airplay has decreased…

The airplay has decreased progressively for maybe around 3 years and by that I mean the same tracks repeated, often in the course of a day, dreadful ,insult to listeners, can't listen to this station any more, planning insults us , it's embarrassing

Competition blues…

I am fed up with number of times the competition is aired, even when 1hrs of non stop music is played, you air the competition.
Please give it a rest

Competition Obsession

Some reviewers have commented that the station is a bit 'samey', by playing the songs over and over again but I don't mind that because their choices are good...what I am unhappy with is how this money competition they run has taken over the programme. It seems to be on every 15 mins..one can only assume that the DJs are on some sort of commission. I have been a big fan of Smooth Scotland for many years, I now turn it off and listen to my play list....with no mention of a competition..

I listened to Smoth Radio all the time

I listened to Smoth Radio all the time. Now I have decided to NOT LISTEN and found alternative stations, as its constantly promoting a Global Player competition to win money on a Friday Afternoon.
I end up listening to less music as this promotion just dominates the radio station.

Boring

Hate how much the competitions are advertised. Hate the fact Adil Ray mentions his own name every 5 seconds. And jenny needs to stop with the silly bing of the bell.

AGAIN WE have to COMPLAIN …

Again we have to complain about this 'bunch' on Smooth.
Apart from naff presenters, these GARBAGE competitions.
They spend more time 'virtually' ..GOBBING OFF about them more than playing or sensible chat.
WE are Absolutely Sick of listening to a load of SPILL.
LIKE the greatest hits and the lottery.
Instead of SHARING these big prizes they are glamorising big money that only ONE PERSON CAN WIN..ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. I BLAME THE PUBLIC TOO WHO ARE SO GULLABLE to TAKE it in. THE UK SHEEP..Nose to tail.
This week on smooth for instance.. £100K..SHARE IT OUT..10 PEOPLE WIN £10K EACH..I'd do it then..Greatest hits last week..£750k to one person..crazy, disgraceful and virtually obscene. Could make x7 people win £100k each and x1 £50k.
The lottery £50 million.
Could make X50 £1 MILLIONAIRES.
IT SHOULD BE STOPPED AND MADE ILLEGAL.
EUROPEAN LOTTERY TOO..1 PERSON WINNING SMALL FORTUNES. DIABOLICAL.
SHARE IT OUT. £1 MILLION IS ENOUGH FOR ANYONE.
WE'VE ALREADY WRITTEN TO THE GOVERNMENT TO ABOLISH THESE REDICULOUS AMOUNTS..AND SHARE SHARE. to 'MANYS ADVANTAGE' rather than one individual. Sickening.
This country has gone..kaput.

I think this is fixed

Been in the draw the last two weeks. Spent over £50, only to see the latest £200.00 draw was filmed live?? Seems to be a fix in my opinion. I thought the draw and call was done at or after 5pm on that Friday night end of week? How come Smooth can draw the winner, ring them up, and also be there to record the call??

Repeated songs and now gambling

Myself and my work colleagues switched to Smooth radio a couple of months ago, to avoid the constant adverts and gambling on greatest hits.

The good points I like about Smooth include the minimal chatter, no stalling for time to play less music and the acceptable number of adverts.
I was also very impressed recently when Smooth started playing Christmas songs.

However, they seem to play the same songs every day without fail.
The Christmas songs have turned out to be a small number of selected Christmas songs that I hear played at least twice, sometimes three times per day. Instead of playing the same ones over and over, why not include some different ones, like David Essex Winters Tale for example?

I would also say that if you are a massive Whitney Houston and Barry White fan, then Smooth is definitely the station for you, as those artists are played extremely often!

Smooth really does seem to have a very small playlist of songs that are repeated at least every day, usually more than every day.
I was also very disappointed when Smooth recently also became a gambling radio station. The vast majority of us put the radio on to listen to music, not to start gambling.

What an awful station

What an awful station. I am forced to listen to Jenny Faulkner each morning because of another family member. I can't help but feel the frustration of hearing a nice tune only for it to be faded out, or for Jenny to start talking over it, well before it has finished. 'More Music Mornings' they call it. Yes, because you're only playing two-thirds of each song.

This is by far the worst station on the…

This is by far the worst station on the airwaves I can’t understand why the have presenters on here as they serve no purpose whatsoever, I call them presenters because they’re definitely not DJ’s they talk absolute garbage and at least the R2 DJ’s are genuinely interested in music and very rarely play the same song or artist in the same month never mind same day!!! Get this station off the airwaves
