Avoid Solomons and Mel Pascoe at all…

Avoid Solomons and Mel Pascoe at all costs. Pay up front, but when things go amiss, there’s no service. If I could give zero stars I would. The installer was given the wrong boxes. Then Mel argued that it was my fault, because that was what I picked. It wasn’t. Then she demanded more money because she would have to reorder and would be stuck with the previous order. Not my problem. Turned out the wrong boxes were sent with the installer. The order read, that the planks at the top of stairs I would supply, as it was identical to the already existing flooring. Semi gloss. They did not do that and replaced them with their new planks, which are flat, no gloss. I was then told that in time, they would turn to gloss. Not so. I have left over pieces and the product is different, but for what we wanted, it would pass. I wanted those 2 planks replaced and glued down properly. Then Mel Pascoe said that she would contact the owner and would ring me back. 6 weeks later and still waiting for that call. The installer was very helpful when he realised what had happened with the wrong planks. He returned to the shop only to find the right planks there all the time. He went above and beyond duty. Also said that this happens often and worse. If only he had read the invoice with the instructions.

DON’T USE SOLOMON’S - STICK TO NATIONAL CHAINS THAT AREN’T FRANCHISES IN CASE THERE’S ISSUES

Like other customers, I have also had issues with the quality of the workmanship completed, and the inability to get it rectified. There are issues with the scotia and how it has been laid, and was told that it didn’t have to be perfect, even though it is already unsightly and breaking. Additionally, the stairs have been laid with very rough cuts, with nails sticking out and clearly visible. I was told by the installer they would be replaced, only to have found out he lied about talking to the store owner about getting new floorboards, and tried to hide it all with rough silicone. They left cigarette butts in my backyard and dirty walls. I have been dealing with [Name Removed] the manager but he hasn’t responded to any correspondence after the initial complaint. I also reached out to the State Manager but was told there was little they could do because it’s a franchise. I would recommend going somewhere that isn’t a franchise so there’s the ability to take complaints higher. The only way to get resolution with Solomon’s is to take them to QCAT.

Caution Do Not Waste Your Time with…

Caution Do Not Waste Your Time with Solomons at Brendale QLD.

I had the misfortune to use Solomons at Brendale to recarpet/vinyl my property.

The property was empty and had a total interior repaint at a considerable cost and the final issue was to recarpet/vinyl the property to finish the renovation. I made the mistake of paying Solomons the total amount prior to installation.

Pictures were taken after the interior painting had been finished and after Solomons carpet layers had finished laying the carpet, the damage to the property/paintwork was considerable. Two door frames, one wall and three doors were damaged requiring a total repaint.

Solomons at Brendale refused to acknowledge that their carpet layers had caused the damage, so I am off to the Department of Fair Trading.

All I can say in my experience with them, go elsewhere and avoid them and I wish I would have read this review forum first.

Avoid at all cost

Avoid at all cost. We had the flooring picked and scheduled to be installed in Feb. After chasing up for a few days, the installer (contractor) came and removed the carpets..only to steal my things. Owner claim that he could not do background checks on his contractor, who is a convicted thief. Delays and delays with no communication. Manager kept playing dumb on what happened and clueless on what was said to be done but not done.

After order cancellation, I have yet to receive the refund in full, which was promised. It is now May 2024. How hard can it be to refund 2k? Owner citing cash flow issue. If a business have cash flow issue and can't even refund mere 2k, then it is probably not a good sign. You probably won't get what you paid for.

Cannot deliver on schedule and poor communication plus dodgy contractor..avoid or engage at your own peril.

Solomons Willetton Western Australia

Solomons Willetton Western Australia. All I can say is definitely don’t use them. On the 4th December 2023 a Hybrid Floor which we were told would take 2 to 3 days to installed. We are still waiting on the completion so 8 months later no completed. Unless we email or contact Dan we have no communication. We have been promised so many times that it will get completed. The most terrible thing is we have completely paid for this terrible service and not completed job. If I could do zero stars I would. So so unhappy

Absolute chaos

Absolute chaos from everyone in the Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast franchise. Salesman sold product, installer didn't know how to use. Installer changed product, but didn't bring height up as instructed, nor was it level. Installer walked out halfway through job, and was not present for hours he said he was. Salesman uncontactable, 2nd salesman, receptionist nor franchise owner had any idea what was going on over the course of many weeks.
After more weeks of being ignored and terse insistence, the floor had to be re-laid, but installer used the wrong glue and couldn't be pulled up, so re-laid on top. Kitchen was already at level due to previous tiles, so double layer here rendered my bottom dish-drawer and some doors unusable. Had to get doors shaved, including fire-door specialist. Dish-drawer still un-usable. Installer was also AWOL through second laying. Took extra weeks to get door trim installed.
They carpeted around shutters they told me they'd take out. Re-laid carpet only to put holes in carpet where shutters had been.

I could go on and on, but a 4 day job was strung out to almost 6 months. Only lucky I had a uber flexible work schedule to let a dozen people come and go at sporadic times over many months. I had to delay getting my furniture and sat in a construction site the whole time. I'd hate to deal with that with a family household.

I did also contact head office a few times, the only comfort they had was that the double-laying probably didn't void the warranty. Thanks.
