perfect parking

Easy access car identified and ticket issued at the barrier parked car fortunately the bus stop was near being disabled it can be a problem . How ever getting out the machine was asking for payment well in access of the prepaid amount fortunately the attendant at the other end of the system was very helpful the barrier was raised and we were on our way home. We have used this car park for a number of years and always found it perfect

Multistorey carpark

Excellent booking/access system, good parking layout, well lit and well signed. Located alongside the Airport and a short distance to travel, especially at night or in wet, windy, cold conditions.

Simplicity In Car Parking

Booking was easy. I liked the auto vehicle recognition. Free bus service to & from the terminal about every 10 minutes and the large letters to mark car park areas so you can alight from the bus nearest to your car.

Overall good but ticket system frightening!

Having bought a prepaid ticket and adhered to my declared exit time, I was horrified to see the exit machine tell me I owed £124! Luckily when I pressed the button again the barrier opened. I trust the £124 has not been charged to the card I booked with.

Hi Chris

Unfortunately you missed out the instruction not to press for a ticket. By pressing for a ticket you over-rode the pre-booking you made and left the ANPR system unaware that you'd arrived. Fortunately, our customer service assistant found your booking and gave you free egress.

Easy to pre book and use

Having pre booked, I just drove in and out. Numberplate recognition did the rest. All very easy and quick. Cant ask much more than that, frankly.....

Good but web site description could be better

Booked in the long stay car park and prepaid. Web site explains procedure with camera recognition of number plate but did not mention that prepaid entrance is before long stay entrance. A map of the entrances on the web site would be helpful.

Slight confusion at the departure gate because number plate recognition did not link to prepayment details, but quickly resolved using the call button.

Hi David

There's a map already on the web site to help customers. It's on the PARKING page. There's also a map on the Booking Confirmation we send out.

Too expensive

Convenient & efficient, but you pay through the nose for it!

Hi Simon
Sorry you think so. We are always monitoring market prices to offer our customers the best deals. Your Southampton Short Stay price was actually cheaper than either Bournemouth or Gatwick for the same period that you stayed, which was also 6 months ago.

Convenient but not easy parking.

We arrived about 1pm for our flight on April 8. It was very difficult to find a parking space despite the fact that the electronic sign said 6 places were available. At least 2 spaces were impossible to park in because of pillars & 2 more because of other badly parked cars. We eventually squeezed into one space but I had to climb out through the passenger door because the 4x4 next door had parked right on the white line on one side leaving a large space on the other side.
It would be great to see either people checking to see how cars are parked or a sign saying "Failure to park completely within the white lines will lead to a charge for 2 spaces".
The "Short stay" is very convenient & reasonably priced - the problem is drivers who park carelessly.

Hi John

Did you try all 3 floors? Level 2 has had over 100 spaces free every day this year so far. We do charge over-sized vehicles when we see them, but I'm afraid it is very difficult for us, as a service provider, to "police" customers' use of our car parks all the time and fine our customers for not parking thoughtfully. Customers take exception when they are challenged, so we try to ensure that sufficient space is made available to park away from the busiest areas too.

Great experience!

The car park was easy to find and plenty of places to park and we didn't wait very long for the bus to the terminal. The cost was reasonable and the online booking simple. Unfortunately we were forced to extend our stay due to a cancelled return flight (French Air Traffic Control strike) but simply paid the excess at the barrier on our eventual exit.

Easy enough to book on-line, conflicting information to disabled badge users

The on-line booking process was straightforward with the number plate recognition and ticket issue a breeze.
Two points however;
- the instruction given on the sign next to the disabled bay about drivers wanting to take their blue badge with them said to go the service phone and call, on doing this you will be directed back to the car park office to collect a slip of paper to leave in the car. This is a lot of moving around if you do not walk so well, maybe it could be better explained on the website in the first instance.
- on arriving back at the airport after your trip it is not at all clear whether you need to do anything with you parking ticket before presenting it at the barrier. As it happens you don't, but the only way to find out is the try it, which could have led to a lot of queuing behind me if I had been wrong. Again clearer explanation of this on the pre-paid tickets would be helpful.

Short Term car park

I find the short term car park very convenient or the terminal building and is good value for money when booked in advance. Dependant on the timing spaces can be difficult to find on levels Ground and One but in general there are no problems finding space.

Quick & simple procedure. Pre book on airport website. Turn up & park. To exit, put ticket into machine.

Easy to find, from arrival at airport. Free regular bus transfer to terminal. What could be better or easier?

Excellent!

The car park is right next to the airport which is really handy when you've got kids on buggies. Number plate recognition when you enter the car park and we like the fact that we take our car keys with us. Car park is safe and secure. We will definitely use this car park again the next time we fly from Southampton airport.
