Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 90 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently complained about terrible customer service, unhelpful automated systems, and frustratingly long wait times on the phone. Many people also experienced constant internet outages, sudden connection drops, and unannounced price increases that made keeping the service very difficult. Though some customers faced major challenges, a few people were happy with helpful technicians who resolved technical issues quickly and professionally. Reviewers mentioned that certain staff members were very knowledgeable and polite when handling billing adjustments or complex equipment repairs. These positive interactions offered a welcome contrast to the widespread technical difficulties.

If I could give negative five stars!

If I could give negative five stars, I would! Sparklight raises price without notification and their service is TERRIBLE! We constantly lose internet service but according to the website, everything is perfect at our address! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! We will be changing shortly to anyone but Sparklight!!

Sneaky company

Sparklight consistently increased their bills, provided in fine print in the monthly bill citing that they were improving technologies and services. However, nothing with speed or internet usability was improved. In addition, they eliminated their protated rates. I discontinued service 3 days into my bill. My option was to pay for the entire month that I wouldn't use, or cancel it a month ahead of time when it is required for work and school. The claim was that this was to improve how their bill appeared and make it easier to understand. This, again, was in fine print and not provided in a separate informative letter or email. Overall, this feels like it was done dirty. I would not recommend the sneaky feeling coming from this company. When I called to speak with someone, I had to call 3 separate times and wait over 15 minutes each time to speak to an agent.

Tried to returned dropped equipment

I drove out my gate at home and found a internet control box laying on the road, so I stopped and picked it up and could see it was brand new and saw one of there trucks going down the road and tried to catch up to it but he made the signal. So I attempted to call them to tell them I had it and would like give it back to them. After on the phone for over 45 minutes and trying to talk to some person in whatever country they're at, all they could tell me is if felt like taking it to their office and drop it off I could do that. I asked numerous times to talk to someone in America, and they just didn't get what I was asking. They just telling me to take to their office (some 25 miles away). I just gave up and told her thank you and hung up, and just walked over to my dumpster and threw it away. And if you say I should have tried another number...I tried (((( 8 )))) different numbers...and they ALL went to the same place. Hey Sparklight...get your damn call center changed back to America or get people that can speak ENGLISH that will help you return your equipment that your people dropped on a dirt road.

Sparklight wants me to find a different company

Sparklight seems to be trying their best to convince me to cancel my service with them and move to any other company.
The service is spotty at best, I pay for 1 gig, yet often get 140 MBPS in the router.
We've had a tech come out and look at it and he's basically just told us "I have no idea why it isn't very good, so good luck".
If you have any options to go with anyone else, do it.

Absolutely the worst customer experience ever - AVOID!

Hold times are horrendous, then when you get an agent, they all have conflicting data on how to qualify for discounts. No one can help you, so you go back into hold forever queue. I think the "we cannot apply any changes or discounts till the next billing cycle" is especially frustrating. I can update their website and show real time changes - so they choose to screw you. Absolutely the worst customer experience ever.

The Internet was always out

The Internet was always out. We moved in the house in August. It took them until February to bury the line. The actual physical box was never installed so it was just a line running out of the ground. I called multiple times asking over and over for them to fix it and no one ever came. I canceled the service and went to starlink. I had canceled going in March to not have their services in April, they then send me and April bill even though I didn’t have their services or equipment and when I said I would not pay this because I had nothing of theirs they threatened to send me to claims. Absolutely one of the worst companies I’ve ever had to deal with.

I called for my elderly grandmother…

I called for my elderly grandmother because every time the television gets turned off or unplugged the cable doesn't work for ten minutes to an hour. I was on hold for 10 minutes before anyone answered and the customer service representative was extremely condescending and rude. He was not listening to anything i was saying. He asked ridiculous questions like "does the battery need to be replaced in the remote?" No, sir, the battery works, i just told you that I was using it. Also, the crap recordings they have you listening to while on hold are maddening as well. Just a bunch of self promoting pats on the back. Not to mention the fact that my grandmother was forced to get internet because they kept raising the price of her cable every month without any additional services. There was literally zero reason for them to be upping the price. Service is spotty and customer service is a joke. I do not recommend sparklight.

SPARKLIGHT - EON DOUGLAS - Technician

I would like to write my review for SPARKLIGHT about THE BEST employee technician, that comes at home, that you guys have. Mr. EON DOUGLAS was not only extremely helpful and smart, fast and interested in your problem but he goes above and beyond your needs. Smiling and friendly, he always finds a solution, which I thought there was none. He is The GOAT of technicians that SPARKLIGHT has and my experience with him and the company was THE BEST. I have been a member since the Co. first had another name, and I am loyal and grateful customer ESPECIALLY after Mr. EON DOUGLAS helped me with my Internet needs. Thank you very much. EON is a keeper and a wonderful person; he became a friend. You guys better give him a raise! ❤️

I cannot give a Zero star review or I would. 26 people in line to wait for a customer service rep. A chat bot that is so dumb it can to even understand what a customer service rep is, Some idiot in marketing is giving new customers 24.95 a month for 12 month and then adding a monthly billing charge and and paper statement charge. The CIO, CMO and CEO do not give a crap about anybody. DO NOT use their service!!!

Currently in Perry Georgia today with a light AND I MEAN A LIGHT DRIZZLE and my wifi is now out and all my TVs and game systems are now useless. Thanks a lot you worthless greedy corporate layabouts. Should have stayed cable one and just shut down instead.

I just got off the phone with their AWFUL customer service line. After waiting 4 hours....only to be immediately hung up on...SEVERAL TIMES!!!

Talking it over with my folks we will be dropping these worthless jagoffs ASAP.

WHAT INTERNET IN 2026 STILL CUTS OUT DURING A LIGHT RAIN? If some clouds and a little water screw y'all over then please do everyone including your customers a favor, your employees a even bigger favor, and shut down for good. This is ridiculous.

Impersonal Corporate Feel

Been with them for years. They had someone put in line to an ADU we have on our property. I have tried for 2 months to get a hold of someone and get the service. It is no longer the personal service Cableone (now sparklight) used to have. Now feels very corporate and impersonal.

Do not use Sparklight

We signed up with Sparklight in 2019. For six years we made monthly auto-payments and never missed a bill. Since we no longer needed their services, we canceled our service in February 2026. We paid the final outstanding bill and thought everything was fine. They even thanked us for our six years of loyal service. A few days ago I was informed that my once excellent credit score was now 130 points lower, now below 700. When I inquired about what happened I was informed that there was a $35.41 outstanding balance on my account and that it had been sent to a collection agency. This was all unknown to me. I then tried to login to my old Sparklight account to pay the debt and was informed that it had been closed. I received NO notice from Sparklight about ANY outstanding balance. When I called Sparklight, they informed that there was in fact a $35.41 outstanding. Since the account had been closed I was never notified of this and had no way of paying it even if I had known about it. This is NOT a good way to thank a once loyal customer. In short, I've now had to contact the collection agency to inform them that has been paid. I now have to wait on Sparklight to contact the collection agency to inform them that the debt has been paid. Once they are notified, I learned that it may take up to 6 weeks to be resolved on my credit report. Even now when I login to my credit reports I see my excellent credit score. I cannot even see what the loan officer sees as a less than 700 score. THANK YOU SPARKLIGHT, for trashing my credit score for a measly $35.41. My recommendation? DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SPARKLIGHT!!!!!!!!!

Called sparklight last week

Called sparklight last week. Was promised a 9/29 connection for our business between 8-12. This was guaranteed by the rep on the phone as we discussed the importance of not missing the date to open our business. No one ever showed up and no one ever called, texted, emailed their no show or status. Zero follow up. Now we are inoperable due to their failure to keep their appointment. They would not make it right and come out to connect. They gave me a later date which I explained was unacceptable due to keeping our livelihood down for two additional critical days. We advertised “open to the public on 9/30” bases on their guarantee which, again, they broke and will not correct. When I called, they lied and said they came and called, but were caught in said lie, as we were present at the connection address AND we have an answering service to which they would have left a message, but did not. Do not do business with this company. Their service is horrible and their willingness to make their mistake correct has now fallen on the consumer. Not the first time I’ve had issues with Sparklight, which is why I left them before. Guess that’s my fault for trying them again…

Nothing but good experiences.

I've got nothing but great things to say about Sparklight. It's very affordable, my internet connection is super reliable. The customer service has always been excellent for me.

I currently pay for 300mbps and am getting 315 right now so that's awesome.

For living in a tiny town, they're a godsend.
