Would not recommend to anyone poor…

Would not recommend to anyone poor service. I purchased a gaming PC for my son at Christmas time once it arrived it would not turn on once i look at it i could tell that a part inside was unconnected so i contacted the shop they said that it sounded like the graphics card had fell off in transit even though i had paid extra for protection insurance when i contacted the shop about this they said the payment protection insurance was for their benefit and they had no idea how i could claim it back. I took the PC to an expert before i took it back and they said in their opinion the graphics card had intentionally not been connected so to save paying delivery costs i took the system back to the shop for repairs after a couple of days the shop contacted me to say the tower we wanted was no longer in stock so we would need to pick another one i got a new system eventually and i thought that was that. Skip to now my son went to start up the system and and it was saying error with windows so i contacted the shop who didnt seem to want to know a woman on the phone talking to a guy who seemed not intrested whatsoever in the end they told me it was the SSD drive which was full and it would need a full re install as this was a system error it basically wasn't their problem and if i wanted them to fix it it would cost a minimum £80. So i took it to someone i know to sort it for me instead they told me that basically they had ensured that all data would save to this one drive as they knew someone that had limited tech knowledge would eventually have this problem we had. I personally avoid this company all costs.

Hi Achraf. We take our customer care very seriously and we apologise for the issue that your item was found to have a fault in our final checks before dispatching it to you, however, the option we gave you was a superior device with a significant discount in order to try and satisfy your requirements. It was in no way a bad option at all and it would be unfair to make such comments. We also made offers of all other comparable devices we have, all with discounts where necessary in order to satisfy your purchase requirements. You also agreed initially with one option, only to then U-turn and request a refund instead, which we did straight away.

It also appears you are a serial bad reviewer.

Spartan is scamming customers! Honest review from a computer tech hired to fix their shoddy work

I am a computer tech who was contracted out by Spartan to fix a customers PC where the graphics card had come loose during shipping. Upon arrival I found significant damage to the computer case, including its feet being completely removed and only one still in the box. They did not send a power cable to the customer upon returning her PC after an existing issue, or should I say issues considering it sounds like the whole computer basically died. Upon installing the GPU I find out the computer, sold in 2022 please bear in mind, came with an i5 2500 from..2011. The customer paid £650 for this. This is unacceptable. She has effectively been sold an 11 year old computer, which will need replacing in a year or two. Not to mention the quality control appears to be appalling. Spartan also haven’t paid me for a replacement power cable which meant I have to use my own money to get one .

I recommended to the customer she avoid this company at all costs, and I implore you to do the same. Learn how to build your own computer or hire someone like me to do so, who will build you a quality system at an excellent price. And you won’t be ripped off by having components older than a decade put inside it.

Few facts to consider here.
1. original customer made various attempts to physically damage the PC in order to send it back for a refund. We instructed a local repair shop to put right the minor issues caused by the customer, hence why when it was received it was damaged, not because of anything that occurred at Spartan.

2. Apart from the the motherboard/CPU, everything in this PC is brand new and thoroughly tested before dispatch.

3. All Desktop PC's normally take Kettle power cables and are 10 a penny. Almost every PC repair store has many available to use on equipment. More importantly we confirmed we would cover the cost of any parts required. Turns out this repair shop couldn't even raise a simple invoice to Spartan so our accounts could send a payment. It took 3 attempts and instructions on how to raise a correct invoice, which once correctly received, was paid immediately.

Bought mcair 2020

Bought mcair 2020, early December 2021, price around £750. Just two weeks after machine starts playing up. Problem : system won't accept password and there is keyboard issue, letter "L" with slight touch type itself multiple times .
Search online gives machine not recognising password is common issue. Attempt to contact company, Spartan Outlet by phone, no success, dead end they never pick up phone as calls always drop at the end.
Sent first email just two weeks after purchasing, no answer. Sent yet another email. Reply came after 2 weeks. Another 2 days before machine got collected for repair. They know it is password issue. Following 3 weeks, no communication. Then they came back with email saying they can't access machine with password I provided. Later I had to send them YouTube video link how this may be sorted. Then out of the blue, received another email telling me machine has been dispatched without explaining what repair has been carried out. 4 weeks has elapsed now.
On receiving the machine, can access but realised keyboard still faulty. Hardly Hoover over letter "L" and it would type itself which makes TouchType difficult as you keep deleting "L" afterwards. Sent email on this, they replied they have test the machine and it is fully working. Now they are asking me to send video on keyboard issue . Gave up. Now stuck with machine 90%fully operating.
These people don't have customer service and real technical qualified team behind. As they are useless incapable to help if there's an issue. No operating phone line, you can't speak to them
I sincerely regret buying this machine from them. I wonder what the 12 months guarantee is based on.
So would advise that you buy brand new machine which is bit more expensive, but at least you have manufacturer guarantee.
This very bad experience.
Give one star as machine is just OK.

This review contains totally false information. Firstly, there was never an issue in contacting us by phone and the client was spoken to, and emails shared many times. When we received the MacBook back, there was no issue with the passwords and we successfully logged in without issue. The keyboard was also tested extensively and the issue with the letter 'L' could not be replicated despite numerous attempts to do so. We can only assume the user must lean on the key somehow when typing. New MacBook keyboards can be quite sensitive. When we asked the client for a video showing the issue so we could address it and see what may be causing the problem seeing as we could not replicate it, they didn't reply.

CHEAP COMPONENTS! FAULTY MACHINES! DONT WASTE TIME OR BE BLINDED BY THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

The way they advertise there products pulls you in the most, for you to realise that it's all about the money. I got my first gaming pc from this company and wven though it was a while back and if they reply they are likely likely say I'm not even a customer but why would I waste my time writing this. ANYWAY they advertise their gaming pcs to be able to run games for example fortnite but if like me you were new to gaming pcs you won't realise how there components just don't equal up to the description. "Powerful i5 processor" to find out in the description its an I5 4th gen which is basically useless for running most games along with there cheap components. I advise anyone reading this to research more and maybe shop on amazon instead which I did after and got a great deal unlike I did here.

Thank you for the review Thomas. Its important to understand that the PC you purchased from us is not advertised as being able to run Fortnite etc.

You bought the entry level Gaming PC from us which we explicitly advertise for playing games like Minecraft and Roblox only. Furthermore, the CPU is fairly irrelevant in the ability to play certain games. The Graphics card is most important, and your PC came with the GT730, which is not powerful enough for Fortnite etc.

We do advertise a number of gaming builds suitable for Fortnite, however these are more powerful systems and one which you did not purchase. If you had purchased one of the Fortnite suitable machines, you would not be experiencing any graphical issues.

You may find it helpful to add more memory to your PC and turn down the graphical settings in order to have a better experience on Fortnite.

Fantastic customer service

I'd like to start by saying that Spartan outlet has to be one of the best customers services iv ever experienced. Not many companies will call you before they send out a product that you have already paid for to make sure you are aware of any faults ( if product has any) before they send it out. Spartan do ..😁 I was unaware of a chip in a monitor as I missed it..( it was advertised) and they took the trouble to call me to double check I was happy to continue. Most companies would just send it once they have your money....so thank you spartan, I'm truly grateful. We got the chip repaired and I received my item the following day. This company goes over and above to ensure customer satisfaction and I really would highly recommend them. Fantastic customer service and quality product.

Laptop Battery u/s - customer service useless

Spent £570 on a refurbished HP Laptop, only to find out it won't work without the power supply being attached. The battery is U/S. Spoke to Spartan who said the battery isn't part of the warranty, so when you buy a refurbished item they do not check the health of the battery prior to sending out to customer 🤷‍♂️. Bad customer service and will be dealing with credit card company now to pursue a claim as we've only had the item a week.

Thank you for your comments Gary. This is an interesting take on the issue, but one that isn't an accurate one. Firstly, the laptop you have bought is one that is in excess of £900 new, and most refurbished ones are £700+. Secondly, your original complaint was that the battery was only lasting 15 mins, not that it was not working at all. We accept that this is still unfortunate and disappointing.

More importantly, when you deal with second user and refurbished electronics that are powered off Lithium Ion batteries, these always start to degrade from the moment they are first used, and its impossible to know when the battery may degrade significantly, or swell and reduce charge capacity. We test every battery internally before putting it on sale, and if the battery is below 80% health (which is acceptable level for 2nd user/refurbished) we note this in the listing and price accordingly, or if its well below then we replace the battery. On this occassion, the battery test showed the battery was above 80%.

Because of the complete uncertainity and reliability of Lithium Ion batteries, they are the only part of any device containing Lithium Ion batteries that we do not warrant. This is something you will find common amongst all sellers of 2nd user and refurbished equipment for the same reason. We warrant every other part of a device, and if it was to stop working for any reason other than the battery, we would be more than happy to take the item back for repair/replacement. Whilst it is very unfortuante that your battery has an issue, it was something unknown and one we cannot forsee in any way, hence again why we do not warrant batteries.

A replacement new battery is a moderately small cost, and would still provide you with an exceptionally good value for money item that still provides you with a huge saving against new, and other refurbished units. We have even offered to fit the battery for you free so long as you cover the cost of the battery and shipping.

Will never use them again!!

Will never use them again!!! I've ordered a laptop in 'Good' Condition. I was expecting few scratches, small dent etc. Laptop had a missplaced hinge which to me is an issue as I've had similar problem with my old laptop hence I needed a new one. I understand that refurbished items will have some sings of use but shouldn't be damaged. Their customer service is shockingly terrible, whoever emailed me was very rude saying this fault was described except it wasn't and because I've change my mind (not true) I now have to pay return postage (ok, fair enough) and another £10 because I don't want this laptop and there is nothing wrong with it, but there is. I don't feel that I should be charged that £10. I have never come across as badly managed company, charging you for nothing! I have now ordered from somewhere else and will NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN!

This is a completely inaccurate review. Despite the customer claiming there were physical issues with the item, we agreed to accept the return and upon receipt of the item and inspection there were no issues. The laptop is a 360 degree item meaning you can turn the screen back on itself and use it as a tablet, so the double hinge has space around it in order for it bend accordingly. The customer was adamant this was not supposed to be the case and therefore was physically defective. As the item had no issues, it has to be classed as an unwanted purchase and therefore return postage cost and restocking fee is applied as per our terms of sale.

Fantastic Price, Quality and A* customer Service.

Absolutely over the moon with the service and quality of the product I received. Superfast delivery, carefully packaged. Item looks and performs like new. A friendly and helpful Human Being (rather than a bot) who called me before I even knew there was a problem, talked to me on the phone, sorted out an error on my order that I made (not them) and went the extra mile to get my new monitor to me the next day rather than 2 days as advertised. Thank you - my partner works in the music/tech industry so I will recommend far and wide :0)

Do not ever use this company!

Do not ever use this company!
They sell defective PCs that do not work, meaning you have to constantly send the PC back to have work completed on. I was sent a PC that was missing screws and subsequently it was falling apart after getting out the box! They do not apologise and are very unprofessional, stating that I had falsified photos I had sent them, really? Yes because a mother of 3 working for the police has time for that!
They carried out some work after many emails and finally agreed to take the PC back one last time. Upon receiving it back I switched it on and the USB ports were disabled, so the keyboard and mouse wouldnt work. They claim they had retested it in the warehouse, but if that is true, why were the USB ports disabled? In the end I had to reach out to the local community and JEM IT Solutions helped to fix the PC. They told me that the Motherboard Spartan used was very dated and didnt actually support Windows 10 or even Windows 8 for that matter 😡
I would never ever use this company again!! I have been in tears over the past 6 weeks that this has been going on for and all I wanted was a PC that worked for my autistic Son. They are a disgrace.
I have emailed them for an activation code for Windows 10, which they have refused because apparently I have breached terms and conditions, after I sought help from another IT company.

This is a wholly inaccurate and unjustified review. We sell thousands of these machines and have very few issues as we have a very strict build and QC process.

In this particular case, when the original complaint came in, the initial pictures from the customer showed the PC complete with the Graphics card in place, and then later pictures showed the card somehow managed to remove itself from both the rear housing and the PCI slot of the motherboard and was bent??
Clearly, there had been physical interference with the machine. Nonetheless, we still accepted to have the PC back (which we paid for). Upon receiving the unit back, we conducted a thorough examination and it was clear the machine had been tampered with extensively. Regardless of this, we put everything back to how it should be, tested it fully and extensively and ensured it was 100% in full working order with no issues whatsoever.

Judging from the circumstances with this case from its beginning, we knew that this machine, in particular, was going to be a customer problem case if we didn't ensure it was 100% working when returned, so we went to extra lengths to make sure it was perfect before returning it.

It was returned back to the customer, and then apparently had a whole host of other issues which have required a 3rd party IT service company to come in and rectify them according to the customer! We know this is not true and that everything was done to ensure the PC was returned in tiptop condition.

As always, we take our customer service very seriously and we always address and fix every issue where necessary, however equally, we will not tolerate abuse of our products for which we are then meant to take the blame. We have thousands of happy satisfied customers, many of them repeat customers because they know we are reputable and professional, and we always resolve an issue where we can, even when it's not our doing in many cases.

We would advise any customers to disregard this inaccurate review, and see for yourselves what its like to buy from us.

PLEASE READ THIS

Ok, ordered from these before Xmas and was very happy with the product (imac)daughter loves it and its great quality only thing is didn't come with keyboard which I didn't know or see anything stating it didn't when I purchased it, but a new wireless one cost £25 from amazon. Now ordered a touch screen laptop mid January but unfortunately when it arrived we noticed that it had a audio fault, I contacted them and they very understanding and I was reasonable in my request. They offered to have it sent in to be looked at and the returned but as I had just purchased it I requested a new one sent out and defected one collected at same time but they didn't have another in stock. So they offered a full refund no questions asked so I sent the item back. Upon the item returned they tested and contacted me stating that they were unable to to find the issue, but offered the full refund anyway or I could have it returned, as I had witnessed this error personally I knew it was there so I choose the full refund.
Within 2 or 3 days refund has been done and dusted.
I have read all alot of these reviews about the customer service but alot of people are completely unreasonable with their requests as it is a reconditioned product service.
Do not let these reviews put you off these are very honest and genuine company.
Thanks alot Spartanoutlet.com for all the swift responses 👍

Windoes is never activated as this has to be done by the buyer as a first time set up as like any new item. The formatting and installation of any drives is always carried out by our technicians, and we would not have been able to install the Windows 10 OS if they had not been. Installation of drives also has nothing to do with available memory of the hardware.

We appreciate that the Keybaord and Mouse are not premium quality, however they are very good value for money for the low price point that this package is available for.

DHL Mail sent confirmation of package delivered, together with a photo of the item at the address. We give strict instruction not to leave parcels with neighbours due to liability issues. When the customer complained of not receiving the item, a claim was opened with DHL to recover the money to then reimburse the customer. This is standard policy and procedure as per our terms of business.

In this case, the money was reimbursed and the customer refunded accordingly.

Now for the facts:

Buyer contacted us to say there was an issue with the PC as it wouldn't connect to the monitor with signal. We made arrangements to collect the PC back to check the problem. When we received it back the unit was working perfectly fine and we believe that the buyer was connecting the cable to the motherboard output, not the Graphics card output. We then sent the item back out for redelivery.

Upon confirming the item was sent back, the buyer insisted he didn't want the computer and wanted a refund, which was never refused. We stated clearly that we had to contact DPD and instruct them not to deliver the item and get it back to us, and that once we had received the item back in stock we would then process the refund, which we did.

Neither Citizens Advice/Consumer Rights were involved and we received no communication from them. Refund was processed upoin receipt of the item back from DPD.

Where do i start, the delivery came a day later than expected, then once I got the laptop the laptop didn't charge, when I raised the concern they rang me to tell me a courier is on their way to pick it up, minutes later I received an email saying the courier will come on Monday, I told the customer service that I needed the laptop as I'm out of work and they I was told to use it with low battery (what a response) I asked if I could make a complaint and they didn't answer the question and just said use what you can of the laptop, the laptop is on 11% what am work am I supposed to to on it, I run my own business, I can't afford to have a laptop that doesn't charge, I would definitely not recommend this company, I can't wait to send this laptop back and get my money back, it was outright awful.

Now for the facts:

This was a Microsoft Surface Book of high quality. Whilst the AC Adapter was working when sent, for some reason it stopped working when the customer received it. When the customer first complained, he reported there was over 40% battery still in the machine and we recommended he continue to use the unit whilst we arranged a replacement to be sent it out.

Buyer insisted on returning the item, which we arranged. We tested the item and put a new charger with it and it was just fine. The buyer requested to have the item back, so we shipped it back and the buyer was very happy and has been using it for weeks now without issue.
