The Turbo Vado 3.0 EVO is a terrific bike. While I like to dial in new bikes myself over several rides, it would have been helpful if the local delivery dealer who built the bike offered to set up ba... See more

The bike is beautiful, but it was missing several components for the AXS transmission. Specialized has been slow to get back to me.

I purchased a turbo levo for rehab…

I am a 53-year-old male . I purchased a turbo levo for rehab purposes because I have had two shattered hips due to trauma and multiple total hip replacements. I have a 2020 turbo levo and it has been nothing but trouble from the day I got it it is so far it has had 3 motor failures that have Left me stranded in the bush on three occasions . the “new” motor has done just 182klm and makes so much noise ‘as it has done from the moment it was put in’ that I have no confidence in even riding the bike any more. Prior to this bike I had a 2017 turbo levo which was a far superior bike than the later models both in reliability and far quieter running. I have owned multiple cycles from multiple brands in my almost 50 years of cycling but after my experience I would never advise anyone to buy a specialised bike as I would never purchase another one myself

Specialized were really exceptional…

Specialized were really exceptional helping me to source a replacement for my stolen bike. Went above and beyond and I am really shocked just how helpful, accommodating and understanding they - and Balfe's where I bought the bike - all were. I will always buy a Specialized from here on in, because of this and the great bike. Thanks again x

Frustrating Experience with Specialized Store in Costa Mesa - Unresolved Brake Issues on $9000 Road Bike

Frustrating Experience with Specialized Store in Costa Mesa - Unresolved Brake Issues on $9000 Road Bike

Review:

I recently purchased my dream road bike, a high-end model from Specialized, at the Specialized store in Costa Mesa, California. Little did I know that what should have been a thrilling experience turned into a nightmare due to persistent and unresolved issues with the front disc brake.

Right from the beginning, the front disc brake exhibited a vibration-induced noise that not only was loud and disturbing but eventually led to brake failure, destroying both the rotor and brake pads. Despite my attempts to address the problem, including changing the brake pads and rotor myself, the issue persisted. When I sought assistance from the Specialized Store, I was met with blame for contamination, even though they agreed to change the brake pads initially.

The problem persisted, and after changing the rotor, the noise still haunted my rides. The store's customer service initially displayed willingness to help but later outright refused, claiming the noise would eventually disappear. The frustration peaked when the rotor and brake pads were completely destroyed due to continued riding with the unresolved issue.

I turned to Specialized rider care support, hoping for a resolution. With their assistance, a claim was filed with the store to replace the destroyed components and even the fork, considering potential facing issues. Upon picking up the bike, the noise was still present, and the mechanic admitted hearing it too.

Weeks went by with the bike still in the store's possession, and multiple components were replaced, including a claim with Shimano for the caliper. However, the noise persisted, and communication from the store ceased. No one was willing to discuss the matter, and every attempt to reach out was met with silence.

My frustration reached its peak when Specialized rider care, after promising to investigate the matter with the mechanic directly, also stopped responding to my emails. I find it utterly disappointing that after spending $9000 on a high-end road bike, I am left alone with a malfunctioning brake and no resolution in sight.

The attitude of the Specialized Store in Costa Mesa was consistently dismissive and blamed me for the persistent issue, which is not the customer service one expects when making such a significant investment. If I were buying a new car and encountered a malfunctioning brake, I would undoubtedly expect a prompt and effective resolution. Unfortunately, in the case of my Specialized road bike, the problem remains unresolved, and I am left wondering what to do next. My advice to potential buyers: beware of the after-sales service and customer support from the Specialized Store in Costa Mesa.

Last month I bought a bike but …

Last month I bought a bike from Specialized that came with rear derrailleur hanger completely bended. Have to sent the bike to the garage to fix it. I know I can return, but with this I could lost 2 weeks and resources.
BTW, I left a review in their site where I mention that i liked the bike but the bike came with this problem. Specialized simply moderate the review. The site review system are not transparent, they sell tons of bikes and just 3 or 4 reviews

Over Priced Unreliable Junk With Zero Support

So to set the scene, I'm 56, live in a small village on the Wales/Hereford border which is surrounded by many hills. I also suffer from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The nearest specialized dealer is about 8 miles away over many of said hills.
I purchased a Turbo Vado 5.0 about 18 months ago to try and keep going. I've only done about 200 miles on the bike so far but now it seems to have just died. It won't turn on. Checked battery, did reset etc but nothing will bring it back to life. Contacted support who said take it to dealers. How can I do that I ask, bike is broken, weighs over 30kilos, many hills, COPD etc. I don't have a bike rack either. They just stopped responding!!! Over £4,000 for a bike that has done less than 200 miles.
I'd say from my experience they are a very expensive piece of unreliable junk and my advise would be to avoid.

I bought a used Specialized Turbo Levo

I bought a used Specialized Turbo Levo. In order to use the theft functions in the app, you are required to transfer ownership. I followed the instructions on their site, but received no reply. There is an contact number on their Danish site. The number is out of service - I have tried several times over different days.
I have re-send my request on their site - still no reply after 3 weeks - I have also checked my junk mail folder. When buying the used bike, I thought Specialized was a great brand for both bikes and service. This will definitely be my last Specialized bike.

Fictitious Warranty

I have a 2022 Diverge Elite E5 with~2400 miles. The rear hub and bearing sets fell apart. I registered this bike, why?, the lifetime warranty. Nope, this is "normal wear and tear". 2400 miles is not normal. It's also 3 weeks and counting with no parts!

Uncomfortable and not durable but what you expect with such an expensive shoe. Avoid.

I bought a very expensive pair of SWorks MTB shoes.
They are:
- very light which is good
- very stiff, great for riding but as expected not great for walking, but no problem.
- comfort, I am someone who can put on a new pair of running or cycling shoes and have no issues. But these shoes were just terrible, digging in everywhere, but I kept with it and after 6 months they are like a glove.
- toughness, after 6 months straps started to break.

Overall a great fast shoe but at such a price they are terribly uncomfortable and they easily break. Just not worth the money, back to Shimano for me unfortunately.

Battery problem Como Turbo 5.0 IGH

My 5 month old Como Turbo 5.0 IGH had a problem with the connection between battery and motor. It took 10 days for Specialized to ship the part after the dealer requested it.
They blamed high pressure but either they sell so much junk or they don't have enough resources.
Furthermore, the error should not have happened in the first place with a "premium" bike like this.

Do not buy any products from their website! Go to a local dealer

Holy staffing issues. It feels like no-one is available at the national level to service their products! I'm guessing there have been significant reductions in staffing to the customer service team because of how visibly it shows. When things go right you don't notice these things however I encountered an issue with an order I placed, for merchandise. There was a several week shipping delay on their end, which I was fine with (the hold-up was due to items not being in stock that the website listed as being in stock). After needing to contact customer service regarding an issue with the in-stock items that did ship, I was placed on hold for 30 minutes plus, multiple times, multiple days in a row (during "open" business hours) using their call center, and had to end the call each time. There is no customer service email address to use. Online chat is just a bot, even during business hours. It feels like the company has no staff, I received continual automated messages via phone and chat. After a long, drawn out series of attempts I was finally able to get through to someone via chat and I could tell they were swamped. Until Specialized gets their act together I cannot recommend making any purchases from this company. Contacting a human is close to non-existent and the problem I had with my order is still unresolved. I ordered a very expensive bike from them last year and had a good experience however I think they've made some changes that have me concerned about being a customer of theirs going forward. Also noting I try to be sensitive to unusual customer service waits but this situation was really over the top with how hard it was to get a hold of someone and then the person not really having a lot of control/authority to help address the situation.

Still waiting for that call back….. :/

Specialized concept store - Chester

Spoke to chap about cycle to work scheme. Proceeds to tell me he sell me a bike with this but won’t make much money. On agreeing to reserve the bike tells me it was already sold and returned. Asked if this has been used. Advised would check and call back. Does not call back. And proceeds to ignore the phone for the 6x I called back throughout the Friday.

Great bike, great customer service

I am amazed by all the negative reviews as I have now had 2 happy years as a Specialized customer. Love my eMTB and very happy with service from the Ruislip branch in terms of advice, support and spare parts. My local dealer in Dorset has also been fab.

Cant buy a bike ANYWHERE and no support

Cant buy a bike ANYWHERE in France ??
I have been a Specialized customer for 15 years with MTB and road s-works bikes. I have been trying to buy a Turbo Levo SL in S5 and it is IMPOSSIBLE. I have called store after store in Europe and get the same answer ... "cant help you". When you call central office, they don't help. Specialized sends bikes to reviewers but nothing on helping customers ... but Trek on the other hand cant do enough. SUPER BAD experience for someone trying to spend US$15,000 on a bike in Europe ... and I am even trying to buy two ... how hard can this be?

This company does not care about their customers. 40km on the bike and engine broken. 2 weeks to get an answer from the manufacturer and then they don’t answer to your reply. First and last specialized. 2months waiting to get it inspected, here where I live the season is about 4-5months so nice to wait for next summer.
