I purchased their blue tooth version over the ear medium sized hearing aids back in November 2024. I have been back so many times with the whole system not connecting, or either ear not working . Th... See more

I Went to Specsavers St Albans to have my ears cleaned, told to spray oil in both ears for 2 weeks, which I did arived for my appointment. I was told that after cleaning bouth ears had not been cleaned completely? I Was told to spray oil in to my right ear came back for my appointment after cleaning I was told that it had not been cleaned completely? I was then sold ear canal cleaning spray for £9.50 for cleaning it myself, the end result is that I have wax in bouth ears not satisfactory. If you are thinking of going there think long an hard about it?
Hearing Aids for the first time
I went for my first hearing test ever very reluctantly as I did not believe I would need hearing aids.
I chose the Coventry lower precinct branch and met Mobina the specialist audiologist. She immediately put me at ease and gave me a very comprehensive explanation of what the whole process involved including any after care.
I had previously been to another NHS provider who had tried to cajole me into paying nearly £6500 but I said I wanted to try another provider first and did feel some pressure to buy.
Ultimately after several visits to Mobina I today purchased my private heating aids for £1000 and can day I am absolutely delighted, primarily due to the professionalism and kindness Mobina showed me.
I would therefore give Mobina and Specsavers a 100% recommendation.

My wife had a lens replacement in…
My wife had a lens replacement in cardiff queen street branch prior to christmas as the lens had popped out on her glasses. The same lens did exactly the same recently and was charged to repair even though we feel the repair had not been completed to standard. Store was keen to encourage my wife to purchase another set of frames and lenses. Shoddy service and attitude in the store this is a product issue and should not have been charged. Typical poor after care service with volume driven opticians.

From gp referral to wearing aids in just over a week.
I did an e consult to my gp for an nhs referral to specsavers audiology at 12 noon a week ago. At 5 pm that day my referral had been received and acknowledged by specsavers. 3 days later I got a call from specsavers to make an appointment for an hearing test in 5 days time. I had the test this morning. Jordan was so helpful and very informative. I am a complete novice at all things hearing loss which I noticed a deterioration of my hearing 2 years ago. Her friendly but professional service gave me confidence and I was immediately put at ease as she gave me so much helpful advice. I left about an hour later wearing nhs hearing aids that gave me immediate benefits of better hearing, I was amazed at the difference in that I could hear so much more. Jordan efficiently set up the app on my phone pairing it with ny new aids, and showed me how easy it was to use the app. She Showed me how to apply, remove, some basic maintenance requirements and how to store my aids when not in use. She also showed me how to remove and replace batteries and general cleaning. I was supplied with a box of batteries and the user manual. They were comfortable to wear and I didn’t remove them until bedtime, This evening my tv proved how well the aids were working for me, my tv volume now sits around 20 where before wearing the aids it was sat at between 38 and 42. I’m truly happy I chose nhs and specsavers to take care of my hearing loss. I’ve been with specsavers for years for my sight care, and all staff have always been exceptional in their service on every occasion. Jordan assured me that I could contact them at anytime I had an issue and I believe that I will receive the same aftercare with specsavers audiology department that I currently receive with the team that take care of my sight. Jordan said she’d give me a courtesy call in 2 weeks to ask how I was doing with the aids and that she would contact my gp surgery with the update of my being issued with hearing aids. So a very big thank you to the Ashford, Kent branch of Specsavers for your guidance, time and expertise today that gave me back my hearing. And I’m more than happy with the nhs aids that do everything I need them to do. I’m still amazed that this was all done in just over a week from start to finish. From a Very happy customer.

Attended an appointment for a hearing test with 'Brian' at Kirkham community centre.
What a pleasant, caring and truly professional man.
Really helpful to someone extremely nervous..
Thank you for your true professionalism 'Brian'.. 😊
Booked for a hearing test appointment…
Booked for a hearing test appointment at Chiswick High Road location. Arrived on time but after half an hour wait another customer came in and was seen immediately. Not a single member of staff provided any explanation as to the delay or why the person who came in late was seen immediately. Advised them to cancel appointment and that I would not be using them again.
Deaf in my left ear
I am completely deaf in my left ear and was sold a Specsavers hearing aid system that was supposed to transfer sound from my deaf side to my good ear.
It does not work.
I still cannot hear people speaking on my left side, which makes the device effectively useless for the purpose it was sold for. This is not a minor issue — it’s the entire reason I needed the hearing aids.
The BeMore app is equally poor. It regularly fails to connect, making it impossible to adjust or even properly use the hearing aids. I’ve been told my phone is “too old,” but this was never explained at the time of purchase. Selling a system that depends on an app without ensuring compatibility is unacceptable.
What makes this worse is that this appears to be pushed through the PRSI scheme. Taxpayers are subsidising devices that, in my experience, do not deliver what is promised. That raises serious concerns about value and accountability.
Overall, this feels like being sold a solution that simply doesn’t work, with very little transparency around limitations.
I would strongly advise anyone — especially PRSI customers — to think twice, ask hard questions, and test everything thoroughly before committing.
Just a cash cow
Been going to my local specsavers for several years, never had a issue, eye test every two years never missed, I have to have a medical for dvla every 5 years and because I wear glasses need the eyesight part filling in by my optican, it’s never been an issue and never been charged. Until now , would not fill in my form without first doing an eye test (only had one done 1year ago) 25 pounds and then charged me another 15 pounds for filling the form in. By the way my eyesight hasn’t changed! Feel as though specsavers are no longer interested in people just there money. Be shopping around from now on.
Very disappointed
Very disappointed with my last experience, I went to change my glasses to my local Specsavers in St Albans because the ones recommended a week before were too small for me and I couldn't see well with them, so I spoke to the consultant Mr Carroll and I was advised to choose different glasses who suit me, so I choose different style glasses and just for reading not Varifocals how I was advised first time and after a week when I went to pick up my new glasses the staff gave me my old glasses and said they didn't know anything about the new glasses and that they had nothing in the system about my new glasses.
I was very disappointed and will never go back to Specsavers for any service.

Waited 25 minutes for the North Street Brighton branch to answer the phone and then gave up. Boots answered in 2 minutes, no contest.
My 89 year old mum was fitted with…
My 89 year old mum was fitted with hearing aids less than 3 weeks ago.one packed up and within a week the other aide stopped working. There is no aftercare when things go wrong you have to book an appointment which is not until the end of the month. After paying over £2000 for these you do not expect to find both aids have stopped working absolutely disgusting I’m absolutely fuming with Specsavers and would not recommend them. Will now be looking for a full refund and going else. Be very aware if you are going use them
Totaly disapointment
Five - six years ago, the service at the Specsavers branch in Holloway, London was first class. Not anymore. Formalism and incompetence. My new reading glasses are useless. I can only read from 15cm. The member of staff explained to me that in a week or two my eyes will be adapted to the glasses and everything will be fine. This is incredible. Instead of glasses being made to fit the eyes (by simply measuring the distance between the pupils), the glasses are made mechanically, and the eyes have to adapt to the glasses. This is not professionalism. This is amateurism. I will never set foot in not only the branch in Holloway, but also in Specsavers again.
No compassion
No compassion
I visited the Middlesbrough branch . I was with my five year old little girl and partner .
I asked where the toilets were for my little girl ,I was told there weren't any . I explained it was for my young daughter ,the lady said again there are no toilets . I asked if she could just let my little girl in the staff toilets ( she was upset and panicked at this point ) the lady said no . To have my little girl urinate in the middle of store would be easier than to show a little compassion?
It was a busy store with a lot of customers, customer toilets are needed . I was there due to a eye test prompted by diabetes .Eye tests are a medical requirement for people who suffer from diabetes, one symptom of diabetes is needing the toilet more frequently. Not very accommodating at all. So even within my child ,after this experience I wouldn't return .
Extremely poor service
I contacted Specsavers about a home visit and didn’t respond for weeks. When they did contact me I was unable to take their call but did call back. Yes they would contact me again - didn’t happen.
I rang again - yes someone will phone you back - didn’t happen.
Rang again someone will ring you back. Still waiting
I suggest you use another firm.
Terrible service was told on first…
Terrible service was told on first visit my eyesight had deteriorated a lot . Trialled contact lenses which made my eyesight worse. When I returned I was told that they were legal to drive with but I said anything over six foot away was a blur. Went back 2 weeks later to trial a different set which were even worse. Retested my eyes and had a different result and then told me I could manage with my old glasses!! Absolutely terrible experience and will never use this company again
Pushy salesman, praying on vulnerable
Shocking home visit to my dad who was bed bound and living out his last days. The guy was very forceful and my dad ended up paying £358 for a new pair of glasses, including scratch resistant and anti glare. This visit was 3 weeks ago and sadly my dad is no longer with us. I called Specsavers to complain and a snotty woman answered and told me bluntly that their staff aren't pushy. I have since got my dad's money back. Avoid !!!
Pensioner treated with kindness and respect and given clear advice.
Was worried about my eyesight and was given an appointment though my next review appointment was some months off. Was made to feel welcome, the young man attending me was very pleasant and caring, the optician explained in clear terms what the problem was and how she could help to improve the sight in one eye. The young man offered to bring frames to me, if I preferred to sit and could not have been any more patient or kinder. I left the store feeling relaxed and confident in the advice. Not a common experience for an elderly lady using a stick. I have been going to Specsavers in Otley for many years now and can recommend them.
Not worth one star
Not worth one star, used to be good now like everything else gone to pot ! Ordered Four pairs of Glasses one came back with the wrong lens, got reading pair on writing this blurry, it is true , you only get what you pay for !
