New car

We had seen this car two weeks earlier and took a look, customer service was great no hard sell left us to look over the car and then let us take it for a test drive, the car is great we waited while a new mot was put on by spencers, washed and cleaned inside and out would give 10 out of 10 so if your looking then look no further 😀

Communication non existent!

My daughter sold her car to this company. They said they would inform the dvla that it had been sold to them. They did not do this and as a result my daughter is getting threatening letters from the dvla saying she is still the owner and owes a years tax and they want to fine her, all because they didn't do something that is very simple! We have chased them up about it and heard absolutely nothing back, their communication skills are non existent and pathetic and we will have nothing more to do with them.

Can’t recommend Spencers enough

Can’t recommend Spencers enough. My Dad was on the hunt for a MK3 Audi TTS with a good amount of factory options when I come across the one Spencer’s had got listed on Auto Trader. It immediately ticked all the boxes in terms of the factory options and a full service history. We made the journey over to have a look at the car and was greeted in a very friendly, professional manner by James. He left us to have a look at the car on our own but was there to answer any questions we had. After test driving, this was definitely what my dad was looking for and we made a deal with a part exchange on his old merc, Very fair part exchange valuation. We agreed on picking the car up the following weekend, however when the car was being prepped, an advisory showed up on the MOT for a drivers front shock absorber. I called James to discuss this and was assured it would be rectified free of charge as part of the prep. The shock was on back order from TPS so we agreed to still collect the car and return it at a later date for the work to be done. This is exactly what happened and the communication from the lady on the service side of things was spot on. I cannot recommend Spencer’s enough and I will definitely be back next year when I’m ready to upgrade into something bigger. Thank you once again James.

Great service from Start to Finish

We recently purchased a VW Tiguan. The whole experience was great from start to finish. When we picked the vehicle up we were very pleased to find that they had serviced and mot,d the vehicle. But also filled it up with ad blue and Fitted 2 new rear tyres. All this with no extra charge!
I had mentioned the tyres were slightly scrubbed on the inside when I was looking at the vehicle but they weren’t an mot failure . What I’m getting at is, they didn’t have to fit new tyres but it went along way in my book. We’ve had the car six weeks now and it’s been a pleasure to use. I would recommend Spencer’s cars and the team. 5 star and I would use them in the future.

Do not buy from this dealer

If could have given no stars I would have , do not buy anything from these people . Don’t trust the reviews on their website as they are not a true reflection . We purchased a Mazda 2 from them and was told that it didn’t need a service as it was done recently in fact according to them it had only done 1000 miles since the last service , This was a lie as the oil was incredibly dirty the pollen filter looked like it had never been changed ,They claim to check all their cars before they are sold which is another lie because if they did they would have seen that the car had been damaged all along the passenger side of the car and had been repaired .The damage was not repaired under insurance as it would have been a write off. Now that’s lead me to assume that they either knew about the damage but still wanted £9700 for vehicle which was what it would have been worth if it wasn’t for the damage or they are totally incompetent and the vehicle was not checked as the damage was clearly visible to a trained eye. Lesson learnt make sure you take an expert with you if you deal with these people . I made Spencer’s aware of the problem and it was amazing how their customer service turned sour and they would not repair the car or compromise with a partial refund . I will leave you to make you own mind up as to whether they are rip off merchants who want to make as much money from people as they can while offering the worst customer service I have ever experienced or incompetent people who make false claims over checks which they claimed to have completed . Just don’t take the chance take your hard earn cash some where else to a dealer you can trust .BUYER BEWARE

Best car buying experience to date !

I highly recommend these guys. As a lady looking for a car I tend to be cautious as have had bad experiences in the past. Mike in sales was top drawer, extremely honest and not at all pushy. Whole process has been so smooth from start to finish and I couldn’t be happier with my new car. I will be recommending Mike and Spencer’s to all my friends and colleagues

Would NEVER recommend these people

My partner and I bought a volvo v60 in July 2020 we've had nothing but issues with this car. The clutch went after 4 months, it pulls to the left, the media module doesn't work anymore which controls the Bluetooth, the cd/did player, the hill start, the car sensors!! These are things that shouldn't be going after such a short space of time.
My partner paid volvo to fix the clutch as my partner wasn't aware of the 6 months customers consumers rights paid over 1k to get it fixed. Volvo said bolts were missing it had no fluid in it, the sub frame wasn't on correctly which was making the car drive to the left!! We was told about the customers consumers right act and with the media module also not working he went back to spencers they said it was a new clutch and if we'd of told them they'd of fixed it. We was never told a new clutch was put in but as it had been taken to volvo they wouldn't do anything about that. But as I said volvo said it was on dodgy and bolt and parts were missing which is why it lasted lest than 4 months.
If we knew it had a new clutch it would of gone straight back to know but we had no documentation nor did they state this!!

They won't pay for the media module even though that hasn't been fixed by volvo as the price once again is over 1k.. so we're taking it further. How can they get away with taking money from people and not fixing faults or contributing to the cost.

I would never recommend these people never had such a bad experience with a car "dealership " in over 20 years of owning cars .

Seems I'm not the only one who's had issues with them.

Stay clear and find a proper car garage. If I could give zero stars I would.

Saw a Polo with Spencer's on Cargurus

Saw a Polo with Spencer's on Cargurus. £3995, looked a good deal. When I turned up to look at it, it was good and I decided to buy it. Just before I signed the agreement, I was told it was £4995! They said it was a marketing error. Maybe. Although I had checked the price by phone, left them my number, checked their website before I set off and talked to two salespersons at the site. Also the price displayed on the car was £3995.Only when I prepared to buy it was I told the raised price. To make matters worse, it was still on the web as £3995 two hours later. I tried to buy it on the internet but the salesman rang next day to explain the mistake. He then rang back 30 minutes later to offer me the car at £600 more than the original price. I am prepared to accept that it was a genuine error, but they had plenty of chances to correct the error, and didn't. I asked for an apology from the General manager. It came back qualified and from a salesman. Sales are based on trust. It takes a long time to build, and can disappear quickly.
