I clicked the link to this site after googling about an arrest my brother had witnessed. The result was an alert that my computer has blocked this website because my email addresses, passwords, and bank information have just been taken. It then asked me to call a number right away to remedy. I closed the window and now have to scan my computer for a virus, etc.
I came across it online and downloaded the app and wish that I had read the reviews first. This is the worst piece of crap that I have ever run across in my 59 years on Earth this app does nothing that it says it's going to do but try to get your information hold you in certain places it doesn't do what you ask it to do and then it gets stuck all the time I could not find a way to give it 1/4 star so I had to give it one!
When we were signing up for spotcrime free email notifications, there is a fraudulent ad inserted just below the signup that has a big green START button. My husband unknowingly clicked this button thinking that was the place to start the subscription. Although he knew the subscription was free, he entered our credit card information, thinking it was a free trial or being used to verify a legitimate account. Our credit card has now been fraudulently charged by 3 different companies. Fortunately Wells Fargo is aware of the fraudulent transactions and declined them. Please beware of this spotcrime.com that seems to be allowing fraudulent ads on their website. Also, we have not received any email notification reports from spotcrime since we signed up for daily and weekly notifications. Thank you
I use spotcrime.com to keep me aware of crimes in my area. This is especially useful for finding out what areas tend to have more criminal activity. I receive bi-weekly emails updating me on things that have happened nearby.
This would be very useful for someone trying to decide on an area to live or open a business.
