Moving my trading away from Spreadco

I am moving my trading to one of the larger spreadbetting companies.

In my view the website pricing does not always reflect actual market prices and the account management team are unhelpful with regard to this.

Dear Max,

Thank you for taking the time to give us your thoughts. Whilst we endeavour to fill all trades almost instantly there may be times where dealer intervention is necessary to ensure trades are filled at the current market price. We hope this hasn’t affected your trading with us and you are satisfied overall.

Best wishes

Spreadco is a company that delivers.

Spreadco is a company that supports its clients. The mobile app makes it a breeze to trade on the move. It is clear and concise allowing you to have all the latest updates at your finger tips. The computer trading platform is great if you have a computer to hand during the day. They also communicate whats happening both with Spreadco and also the wider financial markets. If spread betting is what you do then you can't go past these guys.

Spread Co is worthy of recommendation

I have been trading with Spread Co since Dec. 2015. It is a reliable trading platform. Account manager is responsive. Saturn trading platform is pretty good. Orders are always performed promptly. Spreads are tight. But it would be better if orders of 0.05 lots are allowed for main currency pairs, such as GBPUSD, USDJPY, AUDUSD, not just EURUSD.

Tight spreads and fixed too on the Oil …

Tight spreads and fixed too on the Oil contracts I mostly trade. Excellent customer service. Was annoying that withdrawals could not be made online but the facility is now there. I have traded with many and this is my favourite. Have not experienced any of the negatives mentioned in other reviews. Once a stop loss did not activate but one phone call and it was resolved

Not great at all.

I moved from the market leader as I was attracted by the promise of 'No holding costs on short index & equity positions'. They do however simply deduct, from your account, the daily loss incurred in a short position so they are not 'not charging interest' like the market leader, just deducting the loss each day from your account. They do not like to discuss this on the phone, but it works out as more expensive than actually holding a position, with no deduction from your account, and paying interest. There is 'no holding cost' because they are HOLDING NOTHING FOR YOU!!! Blatant, I couldn't believe they could get away with this marketing. You may as well close the position yourself at end of day to avoid having to pay the short dividend when it's due.
Also, trying to close a position in profit is hit and miss. It may take minutes while it is 'submitted for dealing' while the market moves away and you are given an alternative price....

Dear Mr Richards

We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your account. I would like to address the issues you have raised.

Every night at 10pm London time all positions are Marked to Market against the market closing price. Either a debit or credit will be applied to your account depending on whether you are in a profit or loss. Your daily statement will clearly show whether your positions were marked against the market closing price. Please be assured that your total PnL will always be calculated from your entry price against your close price multiplied by your stake. No other charges apply for short positions.

There are examples of this on our website (in the FAQ’s section) for all clients to see in order to familiarise themselves with the concept.

In times of high market volatility trades may be referred to our dealing desk, which occurs industry wide. This is why you would have experienced a slight delay in execution however we endeavour to fill all trades instantly as part of our best execution policy.

We would be more than happy to discuss any further issues you have so please do not hesitate to contact us on 01923 832682 or email us at cs@spreadco.com.

Best regards

Inconsistent behaviour: cannot be trusted

Their haphazard and illogical platform contributed to my loss. I contacted them about it but would not agree with to partially compensate. They have since fixed the platform. Would you not agree that they realised there is a problem and fixed their own platform? Why not resolve the issue with the person who found the problem? Their inconsistent behaviour is proof that they cannot be fully trusted.

These lying, cheating frauds cheated me out of £23000

I have lost £23,000 with this firm, Spreadco goes by the name 3D markets now, such is their bad publicity. This firm cheats winning customers out of their money using underhand tactics in a very discrete and intelligent manner. They make it very difficult to close winning positions turning it into a loss and will turn a loss into an even greater loss by not letting you close the trade. You get the most unfavourable price and they publish incorrect prices on their platform to scare traders out of winning positions. They don't have enough customers to accept customers winning money, so the only way for this small business to profit is by cheating customers out of everything they can. Google "Spreadco House Of Parliament" and you can see they were discussed in the House Of Parliament, regarding their questionable practices towards customers and even employees. The Conservative MP from Birmingham called for an investigation. There has not been an investigation yet which is incredible. Oh and I already complained to Spreadco - they did nothing as expected.

Questionable Spread Price

Looking at the price on the FTSE100 at 14:00hrs on a demo and the price is anything but fixed at 0.8. The spread spreads to 4 points as times. I spoke to customer services and I was told that demo is not a true feed and that I would have to open up a ‘live’ account to see true prices. In a market where trust is a scarce commodity I can’t understand why they have to play these games. If the prices are not there on demo, why should I believe that they are on a ‘live’ account? Time is precious and the last thing I wan’t to be doing is making follow up calls questioning spread charges post trade.

Unfair service provided

Do not trade with Spreadco - their system is not synchronised correctly and therefore when you believe you are trading at a certain price, which has clearly appeared on the ticket on your screen, you receive a fill at a completely different price. (when mentioned to their dealers, I was asked to do a Print Screen and send it through to them - how absurd to think that one would have the time in the middle of trading such volatile markets to do a Print Screen???....) This always seems to work in favour of Spreadco. Furthermore in light of the fact that they offer a .08 spread on the EURO/DOLLAR it is very difficult probably impossible for them to hedge your position in the market. This means that if you win they lose if you lose they win - keep well away from this type of broker as it is not in their interest for you to make money. My personal experience earlier this week is that if you are short or long they publish incorrect prices on their trading platform to scare traders out of their positions and therefore closing out positions on prices that were not traded in the real market. I mentioned this to their head of customer services but they do not seem bothered and are just happy to lose clients on the hope that there is another mug around the corner. Keep AWAY and trade with the bigger boys who have enough flow to deal with profitable clients. Good Luck!!
