SCAM, AVOID!

I am the previous owner of this car (BU65PVJ), which was brought from "SRE Motors" in early January. After receiving the car, I found out one of the tyres was installed reversely (i.e. inside-out). And I informed "SRE Motors" to claim £12 for the reinstallation fee of the problem tyre. At that moment, they agreed to refund the claim within 5 days. Unfortunately I haven't received the refund of the claim yet.

The worst part wasn't coming yet...I started to suspect the healthiness of this car, so I paid £165 myself for a Major service. Remember this is the first service for this car since 2020, which means "SRE Motors" has never paid a pound for the service themselves.

The fun part is here, the report showed that there are some major health issues including "engine sump oil leakage badly" and "exhaust back box is corroded". Since they do not have the original engine parts, they advised me to approach the car manufacturer to get it fixed within 1 month. It means it might cost more than £1000 for fixing the engine. Needless to say, there will be a further cost for the detailed inspection of the engine.

Honestly, I do not want to spend extra time for booking and fixing for this car. Most importantly, my family members don’t like this car because of "there is no head restraint in the middle of the back passenger seat" and "the color is not suitable for our family".

Then I requested to return the car and get a full refund in accordance with "Consumer Rights Acts 2015". At the beginning they refused my request but sooner they recognized there is a law to protect the consumers, they had to agree my request. I have to say they used lots of excuses to delay the returning process.

Remember the prior £12 of reinstallation of the tyre as they promised? After I returned the car and received £4995 refund for the original price of this car, I found that they still haven’t refunded the claim of £12 yet. But now it’s more than a week since I fixed the tyre. They originally agreed and then delayed the refund but now they refused refunding £12. Their ridiculous reason is that they wouldn’t refund for this anymore because the car refund has been issued.

After 3 days negotiation, they insisted not to refund the claim of £12. Instead, they even welcome me to disclose the details of the facts to the public. I am considering to publish the evidences such as photos and the service report of the car at other platforms. Later on, I found that they are reselling this car with a higher price £5295 and claiming there is a full service for the car recently. Note that I paid everything for the service (£165) but they used it as the selling point for raising the price. I think it is immoral that they took my advantage but ate their words of refunding the claim.

By the way they claimed that they have already fixed the engine oil leakage problem by having a seal replaced. According to their track records listed above, is it possible for them to source the original engine parts from the car manufacturer and fix such serious problem within 3 days? Believe it or not, it’s up to you then.

In summary I have lost more than £400 for servicing and fixing this car. Hope that you will not be the next victim with same experience of me .
