Got charged an extra $420.60 and no help from customer service

It started as I needed to ship out 224 individual letters. At $1.90 each ($425.60 total) I clicked print. 20 minutes later nothing has printed so I click print again. Another charge of $425.60 appears and now the printing labels finally generate. I figured no big deal, I'll just call them and get the first charge refunded. Nope turns out I have to mail them 224 letters each with a copy of the unused label (that never printed). If that wasn't enough if s headache, each statement takes 3 minutes to load on their very slow website. So on top of the cost of printing all these 224 letters, (each its own file) and the time (3 min to load each of them) I also have to mail it to them....

When I asked if they can help me without this whole hassle I sat on hold for 2 hours to be told they would get in touch via email. After 3 weeks go by, of me following up every few days no answer. I call again and spend another 50 minutes on the phone for them to tell me they will finally answer my emails.

Yay! Guess what? Via email they tell me they can't refund them and I have to send all those files by mail...

Did I mention there is a subscription fee???

STAY AWAY From Stamps.com

For certain mail types, such as stamps with no tracking, unfortunately we would require a mail-in request. We apologize for any delay regarding your misprint request. All misprint refund requests must be sent to, reviewed, and approved by the USPS before being credited back to your Stamps.com postage balance account. When you purchase postage through our software, the postage is purchased directly from the USPS. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this matter on your behalf.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this process causes. We would like to help as much as possible and we hope to hear from you soon.

pretty reliable

pretty reliable. The new desktop version has a fault which creates an inability to mail internationally. The older desktop version still works.

I love the ease of using Stamps.com. The tracking info is now easy to get without switching to a different page to find the tracking number. I also love that it saves my contact mailing addresses. I have been using Stamps.com from the beginning so many years I can't remember when.

Be Careful on Their Website

Beware of this website. They signed me up for a membership, without telling me I was signing up for a trial membership. And after the first month, it would be charging $20.99 a month. Nowhere did I see any mention about a trial membership. And I certainly wasn't told UP-FRONT about a $20.99 monthly fee for a membership. It wasn't until I received a follow-up email that I saw what they'd done. I only went to their site to calculate the cost of mailing a package. So, if you go to their page, be alert for any signs that they're putting you into a trial membership. I don't pay $20.99 a month for a streaming service--I certainly won't pay that much for a website I'd be using only once in a blue moon. Live and learn! Despite stamp.com's reply to my review, I stand by what I said. To sign anyone up for something that's going to be as expensive as theirs is, without making that perfectly clear at the very start, is simply just another form of subterfuge to get people to sign up, while not fully understanding what it will cost them. Shame on you stamps.com!

Happy in Orlando

The convenience of mailing packages from home and avoiding the trip to the post office is well worth the monthly fee. I print my labels on regular paper and tape over them with packing tape because I couldn't figure out how to be sure the 4x6 label would print on the half of your self stick labels. Otherwise it is good to always have a post office at home.

difficult to get a refund

Software is great and easy to use but it’s difficult to get a refund when postage doesn’t properly print. I’ve lost money every time.

The Stamps.com site is user friendly. Easy to order items or put more money into your account. Mail clerks have no issues finding things needed or printing postage. Easy system to use, time saving.
