High pressure sales
The sales techniques were too high pressure for my liking. I could have done without that because it meant i had to have my windows and doors replaced in freezing January. The fitters were great. Nice bunch of lads with good humour. I had to ask for a couple of bits to be fixed before they left but they were fine about it. They cleaned up reasonably well afterwards but couldn’t clear all of the outside debris because it was buried in the snow. Overall I would recommend them if you can put up with the high pressure sales.

Very professional job with friendly staff
Very professional. It was Craig Cameron who came to fit the door. He was friendly, did a great job and cleared up any mess he made. They did our windows a few years ago too and I wouldn’t have any concerns about recommending them.

Another deceitful experience
After poor customer service from Penicuik (see my trustpilot review of 30/1/18) I agreed to have another quote provided by St Andrews Improvements for my roofline, guttering etc. Salesman, Ranjit, appeared on Tuesday night. Explained the situation after Penicuik fiasco. He took measurements and then told us that he would give us best price in Scotland and quoted £1476 and he was waiving the £199 administration fee due to experience day before. Surveyor called next day and arranged to come out between 9.30 and 10.30 on Thursday. No one appeared!! Hubby called and was told it had been referred back to the sales team but she couldn't say why. Someone from sales team would call. Had 1 missed call where you couldn't reply to number. Hubby called again this morning, had to wait on someone from sales team to call back. Did get call this time, apparently quote should be for £2400 as a "mistake " had been made with original quote. Told them to cancel!! We had paid £147 deposit which was taken from our bank on Wednesday but we need to wait a week almost to get that back. This entire company are deceitful, well the sales department are. If this is how they treat customers that spend a lot of money with them, I really don't know how they have any customers at all!!

Promise the world.. give you nothing
It all started with a chao at the door. I am a young female in my first nome so i told the man to wait till my partner gets home as he will know morw about what they are falking about.. the gent csme back that night.. Firstly the salesman (Malkey) came in was chatting away giving us all the deals and discounts he could.. lot of runnish... he was constantly on the phone and kept leaving to take calls. He told us that's there would be no payments for 1 year and we would get a £550 cash back cheque on the day of fitting..
The fitting of the windows were great but that is because they contact a company in to do it (Job worth doing) which were great.. but no cheque..
So after calling the company NUMBEROUS times to no reply i eventually got to speak to someone about my cash back.. they had no knowledge about us getting this.. they told me it would be sent out, then we weren't eligible, then it has to be 6 weeks from fitting and I'm now 5 month later with no cheque....!!!!
.. they also informed me that I will have to start paying for the windows in 30 days !!!
Then the company went "bust" .. lot of garbage because they still work under st Andrews name. This was all in August 2017 and I'm still waiting for the money back now January 2018!!! Avoid them at all cost ...

Worst decision
Worst decision ever made to sign up with St. Andrews. I signed a contract with them for a conservatory of 3.5m x3m for £11000 with their salesmen. I paid an advance of £299 for the architecture drawings as well.
After receiving the drawings, i noticed that the drawing showed the conservatory was smaller and not the way that we agreed.
I contacted their office only to be kept transferring me to different people. Couple of days later, i got a visit by the top sale manager whom said that they cant offer the price despite having a contract. We then renegotiated the contract and i agreed to pay £1000 more and descoped electrical, flooring and decorations from the contract. We signed a new contract on the new terms.
Weeks later, i didnt see any progress as the drawing were not revised. Again they kept transferring me different places. Their people call me every day asking what the issue was. Again and again, i kept explaining. Finally they call me to say , they cant build it with the price offered and they can do a max of 3.2 x 3.1m. I said i cant raise the price nor can i agree to smaller conservatory. They kept saying that they needed building warrant if they go for 3.5m wide. I said that i cannot back down as we have already renegotiated the price. They said that they will come back to me and i have not heard from them since.
Wasted my money for the contract and time. Please avoid.

Help. Need some customer service, PLEASE!!!!!
Have not had my windows and French doors fitted yet, tried to contact customer services several time but I am kept on hold.
Below is the email I want to send to them.
Hello customer service at St. Andrews
Could you please send me a receipt of the payment of the £500 deposit and the £199 administration fee that you have taken from my account.
I need it for my accounts.
I have called your customer services number several times, the telephonist said she would email it to me but none has appeared. Many times I am just on hold, but amazingly enough if I call the 0800 number, It is answered immediately, and she did not know the email address!!!!!
Also you may need to rerecord the answer phone message on the customer services help line, the girl says the email address but it is very mumbled and not much use. She does not speak clearly and slowly.
I found this email address on the trust pilot website. Hope to get a reply.
Also who do I get in touch with to let them know if WHEN I have got my building warrant? And how do I let you know that you can make up my windows for installation, as the customer service number is not very responsive.
I have no details for the rep as he did not leave any, even when I asked him.
I look forward to your response.
Thank you kindly,
Salma Ali
I only signed a contract with this …
I only signed a contract with this company because I was promised installation of new front door on 17th October. The door is for my 84 year old mother who was in hospital and I wanted it done before she got home as her old 1 is very draughty. Got a phone call from the fitters on 13th (while I was away on holiday and could not get my contract details) to arrange fitting on the 25th. When I said no they said it had nothing to do with them I had to contact SA which I couldn't do till 16th when I got home. Left A voicemail for the rep - no response then sent in the cancellation form. 3 weeks on and still no contact at all from this company. No door no refund complete silence. Disgusting way to for any company to behave. Contract No. L000399
Not happy with the service ...
Not happy with the service ...my dad was cold called into getting windows put in he didnt need he spent 5 hours in his house .he was told he had to pay £199.00 admin fee to get the windows at the discounted price.I visited his house and we sent a email ,2 recorded letters and a telephone call was told it would take 14 days to cancel it ..when asked about admin fee he was told non refundable ..on checking contract there is no mention al all of a admin fee or it be non refundable....I have phoned the number on book but rings out and goes to answer machine ..so its like this he is due the admin fee back as he has rights of cancellation of which was done next day ..so can you answer this with a reponse or il be heading to national papers and my lawyer
I ordered new windows
I ordered new windows. As a sweetener when I was undecided, the salesman said I would receive a payment of £249 to assist with the first 2 repayments. This never materialised.
The 2 fitters who turned up (late) had to leave to buy a ladder! Who would have thought one would be needed to fit windows upstairs. The job was supposed to take 1 day. One of the fitters had never fitted windows before. On the second day the same 2 lads turned up (late). The one who had previous experience worked really well, but at 5 PM he asked if I wanted the job finished or would they return tomorrow? I wanted it done so both stayed on until 8.
Now, the job was done well - windows are fine. However, I am not sure if I would recommend this company.
HAD WINDOWS FITTED IN NOVEMBER 2013
HAD WINDOWS FITTED IN NOVEMBER 2013. ONE WINDOW IS MISTING BETWEEN THE PANES. I PHONED THE COMPANY ON 14TH SEPTEMBER 2017 AND WAS TOLD THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE SINCE THE COMPANY HAD GONE INTO LIQUIDATION IN AUGUST 2017. AM NOT SURE NOW IF THIS IS TRUE. THE LADY I SPOKE TO WAS VERY OFFHAND AND SAID THEY COULD HAVE SOMEONE COME AND LOOK AT IT FOR £50 AND WOULD THEN GIVE ME A PRICE TO FIX IT. ARE THEY OUT OF BUSINESS OR NOT?
CONTRACT NO. WAS SA9417
HAVE NOW FOUND OUT THAT COMPANY NAME HAS CHANGED TO SAH REALISATIONS AND THAT IT HAS GONE INTO ADMINISTRATION SO GOODBYE TO ANY HELP WITH MY WINDOW.
BEST OF LUCK TO ANYONE WHO HAS PAID FOR WORK IN ADVANCE OF IT BEING DONE.
job well done.
St Andrews home improvements and Job Worth Doing have just completed our 14 unit installation. I would like to say a big thank you to all at both companies, for the competent way they carried out the job. The contract was well priced, carried out efficiently, on time with care and diligence.

Totally get what everyone is saying …
Totally get what everyone is saying about the sales people doing the whole 'dazzling' at the initial sale and also agree with other points as well as we were promised a couple of little things that we're still waiting on (cashback card anyone?)
Myself and the wife have had 2 pieces of work done by St. Andrews, our windows and most recently a replacement back door. With the first sales rep we had we had a fantastic experience, VERY straight forward, honest and down to earth. The second guy we had did not have a clue and even when we dod agree to have the door done he made a mess of tje paperwork meaning another seperate agent had to return ro our home the next day to sort out his mistake.
Despite the above I cannot fault the workmen as I think they left the place tidier than it was when they started on both occasions.
HOWEVER, the thing that has really wound me up is the CONSTANT additional sales calls trying to get us to get more work done. Today has been the straw that broke the camel's back as my wife has received 3 missed calls to her mobile, we had 3 calls to our home number where my mother told the SAME GUY that we wouldn't be in till at least 6pm amd then at 6:45 we had 2 calls in quick succession from 2 different guys going over the exact same thing with my wife. She also said that it was blatantly obvious that the second chap thought the first guy hadn't gave enough patter on his call so wanted a go himself. I feel this constant harassment has wholly sullied our experience with St.Andrews!

Windows fitted in beginning of July …
Windows fitted in beginning of July (well some as other got smashed) had to keep phoning to see when other was getting done, no one knew anything about it, finally got it done, if I hadn't called I would still be waiting, (had to Google HO as no details were left), now into September, still waiting on door to be fixed, been told at least another 2 wks so probably Oct for that, still waiting on plasterer to complete
repairs, appointment already been cancelled twice, no contact number left for any issues & no call after fitting to check if everything ok. The only calls you will receive constantly are ones from a call centre offering you money off
a future job, have asked constantly to be
removed from this as certainly wouldn't go with a company that still has the original job outstanding, seems to be the situation of taking your money and run, wouldn't use them again & don't feel it's worth what we paid, no
difference in noise reduction and bedroom
blinds ruined.
October.... Still waiting

Pleased with new kitchen door/two side panels, and bathroom window
We had an external kitchen door and two side glass panels plus a bathroom window replaced in Greenock, some building work was needed to increase the opening, it was all done in a day and it was a very nice and clean job.

Poor customer service and inundated with sales calls
Signed up for windows as part of 'Government grant scheme' which I'm dubious ever existed, the price we were quoted however seemed reasonable in comparison to local companies so decided to go ahead with an order.
Took time off work on the stated day of fitment, only to be contacted well into that day to be told a fitter hadn't turned up so they would send two the next day to ensure no further delays. Cant fault the two fitters who were allocated the job, 8 windows fitted in a day and no mess left behind. However, one glazing unit had been cracked in transit and I was assured by the area manager that a new unit had been ordered and he would personally come and fit it the next week.
Of course there was no further communication and when I finally got hold of customer services around a week later I was told that the unit had a fabrication time of a few weeks and would be fitted then. So in total around 6 weeks passed before I could finally get hold of the area manager again who then said he had had the unit in his van for weeks but hadn't been able to contact me... despite them having my home and mobile numbers as well as email address.
We have now found that one of the windows is leaking. Despite numerous attempts I have been unable to get through on the customer services phoneline and emails sent to the email address stated on the recorded message fail to get through to the recipient server, I can only assume St Andrews do not want any negative customer feedback.
Furthermore, we have now been inundated by St Andrews cold calls offering us conservatories, building work etc to which we have turned down and asked not to be contacted. During one of these calls from your Glasgow call centre 2 weeks ago, once I was allowed to get a word in edgeways from a very pushy salesman I advised that given the issues we have had we would be unlikely to use St Andrews for any work in the future and reported the leaking window issue, to be told it was now on the system and a customer representative would be in touch, Which low and behold has not yet happened. We have just received another cold call today from the same Glasgow call centre, who hung up on my partner when she advised we were still not, and never would be, interested in a 30% discount on a conservatory. This seems to be the level of 'customer service' to expect from this company and hopefully this review will actually spur them in to contacting me and resolving my complaint.
As per company response below, my contract number is SA33816.
Numbers I have tried -
0345 688 0258 - no response and directed to email address as per recorded message
01606 866500 - no response and directed to same email address
Email address unresponsive - 'Delivery incomplete - The recipient server did not accept our requests to connect'
