In 1867 Joseph Stannah started our business moving goods around the docks of London. Much has changed since then but one thing hasn’t. And that’s our commitment to Joseph’s desire to deliver quality products and first class service. Over 40 years ago we added stairlifts to our range and since then we have helped over 700,000 people make more of their day. With options to buy or rent new or reconditioned stairlifts for straight or curved staircases we have a stairlift to suit everyone.

The installation of the chair-lift was meticulously planned so that when it took place everything went smoothly. Both people who visited to carry out the installation were extremely pleasant and helpful and cleared up after the job was finished.
The engineer was polite, tidy and explained everything he had done.

All over so fast it is difficult to say much. Superficially fine, but the proof of a service is in the using, and my wife has been in hospital ever since the call.

We had an excellent experience with the agent who visited and took time to give us clear information about the Stannah stair lift and make sure that we understood and were satisfied. It was manufactured and delivered and fitted in about 10 days by Ross who was very polite, respectful, and extremely helpful explaining in detail how to use it which we greatly appreciated. We bought the lift before it became an absolute necessity and find it a real boon. The added bonus is that it gives our family peace of mind knowing we can navigate the stair safely. It is neat and can be folded in when not in use and not noisy when in use. We are delighted we chose Stannah.

The service was carried out efficiently and with good humour. I felt he was a bit under pressure and , with hindsight, a post-service test run should have been done.

The service was excellent. Three people came Mac, David and Tom at different stages. They were cheerful and very kind and could not have been more helpful. In my opinion when you have good staff like this, this is what makes a good company! I would highly recommend your company.

Planner said he couldn't put parking/charging point in corner of landing (like previous stairlift) as it wouldn't be safe. This was ridiculed by service guy. So it's difficult to get past stairlift as it only just clears the stairs. Great if you need to move furniture etc. I was assured charging points would be at the top and half way in the corner, then told after fitting this wasn't possible. Fitters couldn't wait to leave and then as they explained how to operate the stairlift it failed to work and took some time to find what they had done wrong. To cap it all the 2nd fitter, who arrived about an hour after the 1st must have been very tired as he leaned all over my freshly painted walls with handprints everywhere. Drill was heard banging, later to find dents in painted wooden panelling where it was obviously dropped. The brochures don't show the wiring hanging everywhere and it's not as neat as the older 'van gogh' stairlift that hid the wiring inside the pipe at half the price. Not very impressive at over 8 thousand pounds. I told stannah in an email and heard nothing, brilliant.
Very polite and professional excellent communication. My mother is very pleased with the service they provide .

Previous dealings with Stannah have been good, however, on this occasion i am left completely annoyed to the point of anger
Stairlift had broken down and attempts at trouble shooting problem failed. Rang Stannah who admitted contract cancelled by them in error so no service carried out for 2 years but would still be charged for a call out. Contract reinstated.
Engineer arrived and pressed 1 button and stairlift worked, he had no idea why it had stopped and found no fault. Charged £253.32.
Carried out service.- charged £175.68.
Whilst I accept a call out charge would be charged how do they warrant £253 ? I have rang and asked them to look at it again but there’s no relenting on the decision.
Will not use again and will not recommend.

Appalling service:Over 10 years of loyalty rewarded with neglect and ghosting and being ignored. We are a church and a registered charity that has used Stannah for over 10 years. Our lift is a vital lifeline used weekly by elderly and vulnerable congregation members. Sadly, the service we have received has left us hugely upset and disappointed. This review is not written out of malice, but to ensure senior management finally hears our voice.Throughout our 10 years, Stannah has completely failed to keep their end of the deal. We contracted and paid on time for six service visits per year, but they simply have not come out six times a year. Some cases 5 and other less. The lift was surposedly survices however the lift came to a holt. Because of this maintenance neglect, our lift recently suffered a major breakdown due to a severe buildup of dirt and gunk. This is shocking, as Stannah’s records claim it had just undergone consecutive services. The physical evidence proves the lift was completely neglected, exposing exceptionally poor maintenance and record-keeping by the previous management team, who made zero attempts to address our technical issues. We were promised compensation for the distress and the time the lift was out of service, no emergency call out was attempted. Appointments were made and cancelled. and a promise of compensatiob was made. The previous Manager offered a good will psyment not actually saving an amount. We have not got the apolagy we deserve we have continually requested partial refunds for the missed appointments. To date, we have not received a single penny. While we are finally getting regular visits from a reliable local technician, the overall service from the company remains poor. We have repeatedly written to Stannah Customer Services, but we have been ghosted, ignored, or sent contradictory letters that dodge the issue. We have acted in good faith for a decade, but we can no longer tolerate being ignored while our elderly users are left in the lurch. We expect senior management to contact us immediately to resolve this. The new manager as avoided all questions. We have had to request a Subject access and are looking at a money claim. As this ongoing we have entered todays date!

Chairlift was fitted within 6 working days of home/stair assessment. The two guys Carl and Roberto who fitted it were pleasant, polite and efficient. Very tidy and fitted the lift to allow as much room as possible to still be able to walk up the stairs. Good communicated enables us to come to a mutual decision regarding use of socket and concealing cables. All controls etc explained satisfactorily.

Having paid £5,590 in 2018 for a stair and circumstances change death of the primary user of admission to a care home. Stannah will then charge you £540 to remove the item when they should be reflecting their brand values.
