Avoid! Wont get what you pay for even if you collect! (18 months of excuses)
(Reposted and updated with information as the owner of this business decided to claim this site and flag my previous review)
I should of known better, met Starkiller at For The Love of Sci Fi, he had a stall displaying what he claimed he could print I had recently watched and enjoyed the Mandalorian show and was on the fence about restarting cosplay and was taken in by a baby Yoda he had on his stall but he also had a full size print of the Pulse Rifle on the table as well as the Blaster, I stated I was interested in purchasing the items and had cash on hand at the time, he stated that these were for display and he didn't have any purchasable stock at the con (RED FLAG!) I asked if he had been in the business long thinking perhaps he was just getting started and this was the reason for lack of stock, he stated that he'd been at it ages and didn't bring stock just display example pieces as it wasted time and space in transporting as most people wanted custom commissions. (RED FLAG!)
I enquired about the cost of the blaster and rifle as well as time frame, he initially quoted a few days and a price of £90. I enquired about the Mandalorians beskar armour and if he could do that, he stated he would have to look into it to work out how much it would cost to print but couldnt see an issue.
I took a buisness card and after checking other traders decided he was offering a fair price for the rifle and blaster, contacted him directly through his site (I Have the email exchange) and paid for the blaster and rifle via paypal providing my delivery address at no time did the price change or any mention of postage be raised, he quoted a turn around time of 7 days for both production and shipping via hermes and would send me the reference number in a future email when it was dispatched (I Have discovered this to be a common tactic by online scammers to blame delivery companies for failures in delivery).
Busy with work the 7 days passed and I had received nothing I contacted him and the excuses started, I have been burned before with a PayPal scam so had educated myself on how they operated I gave him one chance that the excuse may be genuine and set myself a personal deadline where i would contact PayPal if the items hadn't arrived, the Deadline was 3 months from the initial point of order.
The Deadline passed I attempted to contact him directly via email or phone no response, as such i moved forward and contacted Paypal explained what had happened and was refunded.
The next day I received a phone call from a number with caller ID hidden so I ignored it I received 3 more calls then a call in the afternoon from an mobile number that wasn't hiding its ID, it was the owner Dave initially rather rudely demanding why I had gotten my order refunded, i calmly explained that he was long overdue on completion and shipping the order and that I had been scammed before and why i was cautious, his tone changed and he stated the item was complete and gave several reasons for delay including he had taken on too many big orders at once and offered that I could come down to his business address to collect and even knocked some money off the price. I should of left it alone there but I decided as he wasn't too far away to travel down and collect with a friend coming with me to act as a witness if the owner claimed anything had occurred or I turned up at an empty warehouse.
We arrived to a room inside a studio filled with 3D printers (Less than a quarter running which in hindsight was a red flag for the amount of work this guy was claiming he had) he showed us a broken resin printer (No idea why none of my parts were resin) and handed me the parts for both my rifle and blaster, they appeared good quality, he had also left a complete upper section of the Mandalorians armour on a shelf (Again in hindsight should of seen this as a trap as I had enquired previously about the armour)
I asked if he could do the full set he said he could and I asked if he could actually change the parts to fit me, he took my measurements then and there and quoted a price he also reduced price for the initial delay.
I agreed as he stated he would take a deposit I paid the deposit and we stayed in touch via whatsapp I resent my measurements as he had some how lost them within two days he gave a quote with his "Current" workload having finished he stated it could be done the following Saturday, pleased that I could get the full set made in such a short time frame and with a con coming up.
My initial return produced a correctly sized shoulder guard and a right gauntlet, both handguards and ingot.
At this stage he made it clear he wouldnt be continuing unless i paid the remainder i did so as i was happy with these items and then the excuses kept coming.
18 months later i have washed my hands of him with parts still missing I have at best 25% of my order
