High prices and no service - avoid it!

Upper management has made a decision to charge very high prices often 50% or more higher than competitors, while often letting a long line of customers wait at the one register they allow to open, forcing most people to use self-checkout machines. High prices and little or no service is their business model. I avoid Stop and Shop like the plague and will drive out of my way to other markets with much, much better prices, many cashier lanes open and great service.

Stop and shop ripped off and no response at all
I try to buy ice cream but OTC is not covered what they said but scanned and took my left all money last month Sunday (7/28/24)$27.86

This is terrible for customers
I won't come back

Teaneck Stop and Shop Avoid if at all possible

Avoid if at all possible. Only one cashier open, as usual, 20 minutes waiting on one customer with 12 others on line. It is the check out person not the customer as the same with every customer.

Fruit and vegetables often bruised or not fresh, sometimes moldy hidden on the bottom of the sealed package.

When ask for help in finding an item, the response is always "i don't work in this section". After waiting long time until they can find the manager it is clear he does not care.

Ignorant people after 8:30

Ignorant people after hours went there at 8:30 to get a lobster seafood is closed but deli and the entire store is open not quite sure why what's the matter they smell like fish they got to close down early sounds like a bunch of pussies

I visited the Stop & Shop on Lincoln…

I visited the Stop & Shop on Lincoln Street in Holyoke mass. I talked to the manager about something I couldn’t figure out and she went above and beyond to help me . she is a manager her name is Veronica. I just want you to know that you should have more people working for you to be like her. She was so helpful and courteous. I couldn’t believe it. I have never had that kind of help at Stop & Shop before I can’t say enough about her, thank you very much for making her manager

Manager, Tisha, rude and disrespectful

I visited the Nanuet location 101 Market St. on May 21 and had my third encounter with manager Tisha. This woman is extremely rude & Nasty I wish that Stop & Shop would give her some classes on customer service, because obviously she does not know how to give good customer service. She makes rude remarks and snickers when Asked for help or she’s loud and demeaning when she speaks to you I will continue to write her up every time I have a encounter with her hopefully Stop & Shop will do something about it

Same as everyone else

Same as everyone else. The store on Kings Highway in New Bedford Massachusetts treats me poorly when I tell them I'm not getting the digital coupon price. Today I got 'accused' of 'clipping the digital coupon while I was in the store'. They said I have to 'clip' the coupon before entering the store and several hours before I want to use it. Huh?

Customer disservice

Called the 800 number because the website was not working. Guy who answered said that he did not know how to fix it. I asked if an IT person is there. He said "Yes but I cannot contact him." I asked about a supervisor. He said "i'll see if he's willing to speak to you." Hung up after waiting. Called the company. they said someone would call me. When the call came, she did not know why she was calling and had no idea about what to do. Have been going to Whole Foods since.

Total deterioration of shopping…

Total deterioration of shopping experience. Checkout is impossible. Forced to do use machines. They charge you for bags and then the bags rip when carrying in the groceries. Every other place for shopping is better!

Haskell Pick Up Fail

Haskell, NJ Stop and Shop is terrible. Did a pick up order, wasn't ready at 4:56pm (granted 4 mins before my window) told to come back in 15 mins, came back in 30 mins around 5:30pm...still not ready! I didn't even get an email saying my order was ready until 9pm that night and my slot was for 5-6pm. I called customer service and canceled the order, offered nothing but a refund for the awful service. Placing an order on shop rite's website instead. Rather drive 15 mins out of the way then deal with the buffoonery.

They ripped me off!

On Sept 16,2023 I placed an order for delivery from Stop & Shop/Peapod(on their app on my phone) The total of my purchase was 760.00!! I was dumbfounded. I noticed I was not given the sale prices that were advertised on that day. Before I placed my order on 9/16, I called customer service and they told me that the sales would be on my final invoice and I should go ahead and order it. So I did. I also took screenshots of every sale item (there were over 30 that I did not receive credit for) as instructed. When I received my invoice and the delivery, I noticed none of the sales were honored. So I immediately called customer service again. i even built them a spreadsheet that outlines original price, sale price (as advertised) and the difference that they owe me, which was over $400.00!! Yes, they made that many errors.They informed me that it had to be escalated to a supervisor. I am currently on hold with the representative, and they are refusing to honor their advertised sales. I have furnished them with dated screenshots of every sale item and its price.
I need to file a complaint and would like help resolving it. Is there anything I can do? Help!

Shady Business Practices

It is an ugly way to run a business. I am warning others what they are doing is criminal behavior.

Their website had a problem and.....

Their website had a problem. i called for help and the rep said he did not know what to do. I asked if there are IT people there and he said yes, but he cannot contact them. I asked about a supervisor and he said he will see if the supervisor will speak to me. Waited 10 minutes and gave up.

Do not trust

Do not trust their site with your credit card or orders.

I was adding items to my cart and decided to finish the next day. The next day, I come back to my cart and the order went through without my permission.

I also had a huge mess with orders with two orders having the same order number and some had items missing. Just a huge mess.

I tried removing the credit card from the account but for the card to be removed you need to replace it with another card which is ridiculous.

There is nowhere on the website that can direct you to delete your account if you want to. You have to call customer service who has to put in a request to their supervisor.

I did just that and the account was still up after a week. I called again and I hope this time, they follow through.

Its better to shop in person

The Bellport Stop and Shop Sucks!

The Bellport NY , Stop and Shop is horrible, should be called Stop and Rob, truly overpriced and really no customer service! On Thanksgiving I was forced to go there for last minute items, the store was packed , they really didn't have adequate coverage, fully realizing the potential for a busy day.If you are going to be open on a major Holiday At least provide proper customer service, a long line is to be expected but when I decided to be sweet and get my wife flowers, only to be told that the floral arranger was going home because they couldn't pay her! So let me get this straight you are refusing a paying customer ,the opportunity to spend more money, WOW! I spoke with the manager, named Joe, he apologized but when I said well not as sorry as me lol, he said yes he was , this was truly laughable, I mean he wasn't the one going home empty handed, wow! A wird of advice either, guys get your act together or close down and let any of the other fine establishments in the area take over like ShopRite! The Gallagher family knows how to treat their customers right! So no longer will I stop and shop with the company by the same name too!

Stop and shop Monroe NY. Angry front line. Bad policies.

went to stop and shop Monroe, NY today. Person at self serve checkout advised you have to scan and put on tray before you can bag, 5 times until I turned and said, I hear you. Person was angry, I advised I have been here before and can handle putting groceries in a bag, thanks. I scanned and put in bag at same time on tray, that caused another round of you need to put on tray, then in bag. Really? If you have so much theft hire some people, people that aren't angry. Stop and shop is going down hill consistently. I guess they want us all to go to shoprite or Walmart or Target or one of the many, many other options. You are in a service industry, having angry employees and stupid policies serves no one.

Stop and Shop in Monroe,NJ is so…

Stop and Shop in Monroe,NJ is so unfriendly and short staffed. A few years ago I complained about the same problem, obviously nothing was corrected. Go to the store early in the morning to pick up a couple items there’s 1 register opened. Of course the person in front of you is doing their weekly shopping. Go over to self checkout, which I don’t agree with, that’s taking a job away from someone who needs it. Cashier stands there in case you need help, very unfriendly, you don’t get a greeting a thank you, just a blank look when you leave. Complained about her years ago. Obviously she wasn’t trained in customer friendliness. They are pretty much all like that. Main reason why I don’t shop there anymore, just when I’m desperate I’ll go. I guess us spending our hard earned money there doesn’t need to be acknowledged

Super stop and shop grocery store on…

Super stop and shop grocery store on Northampton St in Holyoke,MA, is the freshest and greatest company to shop for. They always have such fresh produce and an exceptionally, friendly, and wide variety, delicatessen! Both the men behind the counter, are so knowledgeable and really go out of their way to be courteous and kind to the customer. The butcher shop keeps the meat selection stocked well up so you have a lot to choose from. They also, through this covid virus, do their best to keep paper towels and toilet paper in stock. The bakery is closed to the public, but they bake fresh cakes, pies, and cookies, for the taking. The stocking staff and all staff have worked so so hard, during the covid virus, to keep the store user friendly, now in these difficult times. They all really deserve recognition for their long hours and hard work! Thank you Nothampton St Stop and Shop for all you done now through covid, and even beforehand!
