St Peters Lutheran College Brisbane Review

I had children at St Peter’s Lutheran College and if I had to make the decision again, I wouldn’t send them there.
One thing I really disliked was the reliance on BYOD. I understand kids need to use technology, but I don’t think having them sitting on their own laptops for so much of the day is necessarily a good thing. They’re kids. Put a laptop in front of them all day and of course they’re going to get distracted.
I also never felt there was enough oversight around what the kids were actually doing on their devices.
The other issue for me was dealing with the school when I had concerns. I often felt like I could raise something, but nobody was really listening. That became incredibly frustrating, particularly when you're paying significant school fees and expecting the school to actually work with parents.
If I was looking at the school now, I’d be asking a lot more questions about how much time kids spend on their devices, what they’re actually doing on them during class, how teachers monitor it, and what happens when a parent raises a concern.
Obviously other parents may have had a completely different experience. But knowing what I know now, I would choose somewhere else.
