Great customer service
So far we have made it to the offer stage of the process. The customer service and the speed in which help/advice is given has been excellent. The acknowledgement of any challenges and the willingness to help resolve any issues has been fantastic. We are waiting for finalisation, but so far the support from Sarah and Juhina has been very impressive.

Be aware of their Extremely Poor Customer Service (once you become their customer)…
Onboarding was easy with Stride Up, especially Paul K. was extremely helpful. I was going to give them a 5 star soon after joining in December 2024. However in last 2 months, my perception about Stride Up have significantly changed. If I was given a choice to choose a Halal Mortgage provider, I will look elsewhere.
I’m shocked by the Extremely Poor level of Customer Service from the Team at Stride Up. It’s unbelievable to see that they can’t deal with a simple advance payment and adjust the monthly payments going forward.
One reason I could think behind the Extremely Poor customer service is that they outsourced it from a third world country, most likely the cheapest possible in the planet. I understand it is to save money, but the cost and headaches to the customers are much higher than the savings.
It’s complete shame that we pay a premium rate (to stay ethical) and then being left to be dealing with people who have no (or poor) literacy and numeracy skills, who won’t last a day in an UK based contact centre.
I made an advance payment (after agreeing with them in writing) in February, however the payment was never acknowledged by them. I had to call multiple times (after emails were ignored) and chase up for someone to say “yes, we received your payment”, so for 2 weeks I wasn’t sure if I lost a large amount of money or not.
Soon after transferring the amount, I emailed them asking to update the monthly payment accordingly, they didn’t respond to my email for 10 days, and then for another week after the chase up email. I had to repeatedly call and found that the agents are so incompetent, I was finally transferred to a Glasgow based Team Leader. She promised to rectify the issue within 2 days, however after a week I had to chase her as well, as she didn’t keep her commitments and disappeared.
Now after 6 weeks or so she decided to raise a formal complaint (despite giving her all the time to rectify the problems) on my behalf which will take another 8 weeks for them to investigate and get back to me. I’m not sure how competent that person is going to be.
I considering to raise a complaint with FCA, as I believe their service standards are not at all acceptable and they’re very likely breaching the FCA regulations.
I still find it hard to believe how poor their customer service is. You won’t know how it is until it’s your turn to deal with them.

My initial phone call discussion with Mohammed Khan
I am due to get a Mortgage out with stride hopefully. Prior to receiving the call to discuss everything, I had a email from Stride explaining the nature of the call and what will be discussed which put my mind at ease from the get go. The call from Stride was prompt with no delays. I spoke to Mohammed Khan who was really helpful, really informative, and an all round lad!! Midway conversation, I knew that i was going to continue with this company. The numbers and figures were more than satisfactory, the options available to purchase my forever home was favourable, highly recommended. I'd speak more of my positive experience but you get the gist...

Expensive but worth it!
Strideup have been really informative and helpful during the process. Mohammed Khan advised us personally and explained everything in detail, making us aware of everything we needed to know. He has been very helpful throughout. Would definitely recommend Strideup if sharia compliant home finance is what you’re after but also be prepared for a lot of fees!

Excellent provider of Islamic HPPs
Very pleasant experience with Stride Up. I held a telephone consultation with Juhina who was patient and answered all my queries. She explained the products and services in plain and simple English and I was happy to proceed and use Stride Up for my HPP. Rebecca and Sarah were also very pleasant during the early stages and in general, Stride Up are quick and efficient and respond to queries very quickly.

The customer service is brilliant and very straightforward. It is a great alternative to a traditional mortgage and is the most Shariah-compliant form of finance available in the UK at the moment.

StrideUp team was Professional
StrideUp team was Professional and had good understanding of the products they offer. Email response time was very quick and they addressed all my comments. My application was processed swiftly and at each stage they kept me updated. I am extremely happy with their service.
Very fast and responsive customer service.
Juhina guided me through the first step and advised the best product based on my financial situation.
Then the completion team and other teams contacted as and when necessary to make sure I get my offer. Unlike the conventional banks, stride up gave me the offer they initially said they would so I didn't have to worry about extra funds. Jazakallahu khair for such an easy experience.
5* Service unfound in modern day financial services
I have been waiting 10+ years for a product that is in line with my Islamic values.
I have heard horror stories from friends and family using other shariah compliant products and was anticipating a subpar service.
I was in contact with a staff member (Rebecca) over the weekend and we managed to book a call on the same day (Saturday). It was clear from the outset that Rebecca knew the product and the process and was experienced in her role. She answered all of my questions without hesitation, reviewing my documentation the following day (Sunday) and manged to book me in my advisor call for Monday!
I spoke with the Advisor this morning (Mohammed) and again, the experience was exceptional. He knew the product and was able to answer all of my questions.
I cannot commend the team enough, I have been able to apply for a decision in principle, speak with two advisors and book in a valuation in the space of three days.
Exceptional Experience with StrideUp – Highly Recommended!
I’m incredibly glad I chose StrideUp as my lender. They truly stand out as one of the few genuine providers of Islamic mortgages in the UK. The entire team at StrideUp has been exceptionally helpful, understanding, and supportive throughout the process.
My journey started with Juhina, who guided me through the Decision in Principle process with so much patience and knowledge. She answered all my questions and provided invaluable advice. From there, Saarah consistently responded quickly and ensured I understood every step – she was always just a text away to help with any confusion or concerns.
When it came time to finalize the financial agreement, Bhavita was amazing. She spent 2-3 hours on a call with me, making sure I received a proper, clear agreement that suited my needs. Her attention to detail and commitment to helping was incredible.
Finally, my case manager Paul handled everything so quickly and efficiently, ensuring the entire process went smoothly. Thanks to the whole team’s hard work, my loan was approved within two weeks – faster than I ever expected!
What’s even better is that I didn’t need to use a broker, which made the process even easier. StrideUp has truly exceeded all my expectations – they are better than any other Islamic or non-Islamic mortgage provider I’ve come across.
I highly recommend StrideUp to anyone looking for a mortgage. A massive thank you to the entire team – especially Juhina, Saarah, Bhavita, Paul, and everyone else working behind the scenes. You’ve made this process stress-free, and I couldn’t be more grateful!
Best to look elsewhere as StrideUp initial deposit rates increased *Updated*
With StrideUp initial deposit rates gone up to 15% from 10%, it's simply no longer feasible or appealing anymore to most first time buyers.
Standard mortgages accept from 5% deposit and a competitor Islamic Mortgage with Gatehouse is currently at 10% deposit and with better rates. It's bye bye to StrideUp unless they change their direction.
**Update** I've increased the rating from a 2 to 3 stars as recently StrideUp have brought back the 10% deposit which will help First time buyers, so thumbs up for that.
But I think the public need better rates especially when conventional mortgage rates are working off a base interest rate of 4.75% in November 2024, Strideup really need to offer better rates on a 10% deposit, I mean sure I wouldn't mind if it was a tiny fraction above the conventional bank mortgage rates but when it's 1% above or higher, it makes it hard for people who are trying to stick with islamic principles when purchasing a house.
A 5 year fixed rate conventional mortgage with Nationwide is at 4.84% and with StrideUp it's at an eye wartering 6.59%.
Please make the rates more competitive and affordable as you'll find more Muslims and non Muslims flocking to your product.
This service was amazing

Super fast. Very easy.
My advisor Adeel was great!
He took a massive burden from me and made it seem so much easier and uncomplicated. I am super impressed with StrideUp and the people who work for them are a true asset to this bank
Jazak’Allah khayr to everyone involved
StrideUp all the way!
The people working at StrideUp have been immensely helpful, extremely accommodating and were always reachable when needed. I would personally like to thank Mohammed Khan, the Lead HPP advisor who supported us with our first home purchase. He was incredibly patient with me and my never ending questions, went out of the way to help us when he could and gave expert advice throughout the whole process. I would also like to thank Sarah and Rohima, they promptly followed up to and questions and concerns I raised. I cannot fault the service I have received, I am very grateful to StrideUp for making the dream of buying our first home possible. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Thank you all again, I will definitely be recommending StrideUp to everyone in my circle :)
