Do not bother…

My daughter received one of these gift cards for her birthday off a friend.
She has only just got round to using it and it wouldn't work.
We did have the receipt but as we have had it a while we have misplaced it.
I contacted customer services who explained that I needed to go back the store where I purchased it or ask the person to brought it to.
As it has been a while we do not know who brought it and we had the receipt so we know it was paid for.
Customer Services lust kept repeating them selves over and over and were of no help.
Would not recommend. Better to gift cash than these gift cards.

Don't waste your time

Got this for a Xmas gift last year, only just got round to spending so looked on JD got to checkout, card not valid.
Call customer services to be told no longer valid in JD but now Adidas, it only online but I have to redeem to get an Adidas code, OK
Try to redeem, asking for expiry date and 3 digit code, not on card....
Call customer services again, to be told there is a 3 digit code and expiry date, but there's not., think the card is out dated.
So ask to speak to manager, waiting 29 mins on phone and now waiting for call back.
Honestly don't waste ur time buying these unless you want a headache and have time to deal with all this bulkshit that goes with it Jeeeeeez

If I could give 0 I would!

Absolutely shocking! My son's gift card, bought by my father from his pension, cannot be used where advertised. What is more shocking is that I have contacted the company via phone and was told to email, I have done this TWICE and been completely ignored, nothing has been done or ever acknowledged. How companies can trade like this and get away with it is beyond me. Avoid like the plague. I wouldn't have had to write this if they had had the decency to just email me back and apologise. All I want is the card cancelling and the money refunding to my father - is that really so hard to get right!

Student No Choice Card.

The Student Choice Gift Card is the worst gift I have ever recieved. It has brought me nothing but anxiety, embaressment and frustration.
The website frequently posts incorrect information and the mobile website has not been updated in months. In these months important changes have been made such as Costa dropping out. The Costa page is still visible with a quick Google search.
I have tried multiple times to spend my card however each time I have recieved an error message and been told to phone Customer Support which unfortunately with Student Choice is an oxymoron. Though the people have been polite, their training covers very little of the problems that people actually face when using this gift card. There seems to be very little communication between sectors of this company since the advice given by Customer Support directly contradicting the information given on the website.
The card itself is incredibly limiting with what it can purchase. In Northern Ireland it is impossible to spend in person as our Wagamama doesn't take the card. The only place you can actually use the card is the Odeon in Victoria Square however I doubt they would actually take it if you tried to use it there.
The most important thing to know if you already have this card is that you cannot spend anymore than is on your card. If you wanted to buy a £26 dress but had a £25 card the payment will be declined. You must ask the shop assistant to put in two separate transactions which might not be possible in many shops. This is contrary to what is said on the website which states that it is possible to top it up with your credit/debit card or cash when buying in person.
It is essentially a pre-paid credit card with an extremely narrow and unclear use. I do not recommend this card for anyone.
