scamdrivehire not sundrivehire

We booked and paid up front for a scamdrivehire motorhome. Luckily for us our credit card have refunded us and told us they are in serious trouble. Scamdrivehire aka sundrivehire are a pure con and Gary McFadden is a crook so called director trading as sundrivehire. a big minus 100000000 from me be prepared for a visit to her majestys.

I wish I could give Sundrive Hire MINUS 5, as they are con men

A sham.
They promise so much and deliver nothing, but charge for it!

I booked just 2 weeks ago, they took £800 immediately ready for delivery today. I called them today to check times and they told me they had ceased trading.

The female operator claimed to be a 3rd party answering service and had no contact details for Sundrive........really?!?

She also said they'd emailed people - well I didn't get one! CROOKS!

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR CARD DETAILS, THEY SOUND GREAT BUT ARE CON ARTISTS AND WILL RUIN YOUR HOLIDAY

Does anyone know who they are and where they trade from, I'm keen to find out?

Use at your own risk

I would not recommend this company to anyone. We were due to have a campervan delivered yesterday, 7 July. 2 days previous we received a letter stating our booking had been cancelled for some bizarre reason stating bad reviews on the internet!!!. We paid in full back in April and were due to compete in a stage of the Tour de France on monday. To say we are disappointed after 6 months of hard training is an understatement. Despite several phone calls to the company, no-one there could give me a satisfactory explanation as to why our booking was cancelled at extremely short notice. Another worrying factor when I pushed the matter further, is they are not set up as a limited company but operate under sole trader status via the owner a Mr Gerry McFadden. I have been promised several call backs and emails to confirm my money has been refunded but nothing appeared as yet. I will also be seeking compensation for 4 Euro Tunnel tickets and 4 entry fees for our race which has left us a further £500 out of pocket, however, I doubt this will ever be resolved.
Customer service is non existent and when you do speak to someone, they always state they are the receptionist and cannot give any details. I have yet to see anyone say anything positive about this company.

This company is atrocious!! Do not use them!

This company is utterly atrocious to deal with. Whether or not they are a scam I do not know, but I refuse to give any business to any company who have absolutely no knowledge of customer service, it is non existent! This company left me completly flat broke after taking the money from my account 2 months before it was agreed! After many many costly phonecalls, messages and emails trying desperately to get someone to talk to me and sort this mess out I got nothing, not a sausage, no return email, no return phonecall, no apology, no offer to compensate for the total mess they had created. After being excited about booking for my summer holidays what I was left with was stress, an empty bank account and bank charges racking up. and now NO holiday!! I did eventually get my money back minus the bank charges but such companies don't deserve anyones business and I have now cancelled my booking! I will never use this company and suggest that everyone be very weary of them. If companies dont care about looking after customers its because they have no reason to require repeat business!

Don't ever use this company

In April 2011 my family booked a Motorhome through Sundrive Hire and paid the full amount for the hire on our credit card. The Motorhome was scheduled to be delivered early June. In May a second full payment was taken from our credit card and we notified the company of this mistake straight away. They never return calls or emails, we eventually got hold of them and said they would refund this money on to our credit card.....it never happen.

Then on the day of collection our Motorhome never showed up. After being given the run around from the company they eventually admitted they had cancelled our booking. We asked for a Motorhome to be organised for us as soon as possible. Sundrive eventually found us a Motorhome through another company, however they passed on our credit card details to this company, asking them to charge the card the full amount for the hire-age of the new Motorhome without our permission at all!!!! Luckily for us the new company thought this was all a bit odd and phone us on our number that Sundrive also passed on to them. We said under no circumstances was the new Motorhome hire-age to come out of our credit card as we have already paid in full (TWICE) for a Motorhome that never showed up. After 2 days of our holiday wasted Sundrive finally paid the new company for the hire-age of the Motorhome. We then spent the next 2 weeks trying to speak to the manager of Sundrive in regards to the fact we were still waiting to be reimbursed for the double dipping into our credit card + we wanted a claims form sent out (as promised by Sundrive) to cover the cost incurred from not having a Motorhome for 2 days of our holiday. No-one at Sundrive would take or return our calls or emails.

After much stress and worry a member of our family finally got hold of the manager and he agreed to reimburse as for the double dipping. We are still waiting to be reimbursed for accommodation costs, phone calls, exchange rate charges and as also promised by the company a discount on our original booking fee. Sundrive is now refusing to pay us these additional costs as they promised as we have written reviews on this company...which we have every right to do after the appalling way we have been treated by Sundrive.

Sundrive hire have been absolutely horrendous to deal with and I would advise everyone to avoid booking through this company at all costs.
