I've Given 3 stars as the venue is in a Great location, is very noisy but has everything you would expect from a Super Bowl venue. But how on earth can you justify £14 for one child per game?? That... See more

Service is terrible

Service is terrible, food took over 45 minutes to arrive and I was absolutely starving. Absolutely disgraceful! People next to us ordered after us and we got the food way after them. Disgusting service!

Long Past Its Best

Let’s not kid ourselves. This place is long past its best. The wooden laminate on every single lane is not just worn out, but worn right though; as is the carpet in a lot of places. The pin mechanisms very often don’t give you all 10 pins and I can’t remember the last time I saw CRT monitors instead of flat screens doing the scores, which probably explains why it’s almost impossible to read your scores from them due to the huge amounts of screen burn in and picture brightness and contrast issues.

And then we get on to the prices. OK you have to put up with a certain amount of price gouging at places like bowling alleys and cinemas, but £3.20 for a slushie or Coke about the same volume as a can costing a third of that. Come on!

The staff are friendly, if you can ever find them. Visiting the bar for a drink (closed despite all the lights on and you have to order soft drinks from the soft play counter) or the counter for an extra game, or the soft play food counter for soft drinks and food, entails a decent wait for a member of staff to breeze by. Once you get their attention they are OK, but it took nearly 30 minutes to get a pizza that we ordered and I had to go back to the counter to get it.

It’s irritating that I always seem to bowl well here, otherwise I’d go to a place that the owners clearly cared about and spent some time and money on the upkeep.

BASINGSTOKE branch cold and dirty

Crazy club soft play area looked like it hadnt been cleaned all day, dirty tables everywhere and as for the toilets well i wont even go there. Came when it first opened and has definately gone downhill in the 2 months its been open. Drink prices are a complete rip off £3.10 for a tiny cup of draught sprite, 2 mouthfuls and it was gone.

Awful place

New branch , recently opened in Basingstoke, staff are useless and arrogant, lost of restrictions preventing parents having a good time while kids are playing.Oh sorry Can’t do that can’t do that , sorry can’t bring Starbucks but their own beverages are overpriced and tastes terrible. Other menu options are not acceptable either I’ll better starve than eating anything from their menu .
Waste of money ! Be Warned about this!

Pleasant staff but avoid the food.....

Six of us went to the Ipswich branch on a Friday early evening & I honestly cannot fault the staff...very pleasant and efficient and the bowling was fun, However the food offering really let the whole experience down. 1 of our group hadn't eaten so decided to have something there. Alarm bells should have rung when we noticed no prices in the menu, not for anything! One small, very dry hotdog & chips+ a small beer came to nearly £14! We won't fall for that again.....

If I could put 0 stars I would!

If I could put 0 stars I would!! No we absolutely did not have a great time! My Family, consisting of myself, partner and 4 teenage and adult children were happily enjoying our bowling when the manager came storming over to us shouting at us to get out and leave! She had been misinformed by two rather incompetent members of staff that my 17 year old son was ‘smoking weed’ in the toilets because another customer had said it smelt like weed! My son just happened to be in the cubicle at the time trying to stop his nose from bleeding, that started at the lane, that is all on camera! The two members of staff waited for him to come out of the cubicle and accused him of smoking weed, told him he was acting suspicious and he obviously denied it, explained that he was having a nose bleed and trying to clear it up, one of them (he had an American accent) then turned round and said come on you can tell me, I do it too! They then told my son he looked stoned and looked like he smokes weed! (He’s a 17 year old scooter kid!!!) when he came out him and his girlfriend (she’d gone with him to help him with his nose) stared telling me what happened then that’s when the manager came over, shouted at us to leave before we could even tell her our side and explain the truth!! After being told to calm down and me desperately try and tell her what happened, she was more concerned that a member of staff might smoke weed in their spare time than the embarrassment she caused my family as result of her poor staff and incredibly poor customer service!! No apologies no nothing!! Very bad experience from Super Bowl uk Norwich! Being accused of something and being shouted at across the lanes was just utterly unacceptable and unprofessional! I’ll be sure to make sure people know exactly how bad it is!!

Macclesfield Given 1 star because cant go lower

Further to the email below I write to complain about our families disappointing booking today.

We were allocated lane 14, which from the outset didn’t work.

• Player names were setup accurately, but,
thats where any semblance of guest
service ended.
• The first player bowled but no scores
were registered. We reported this to
the deputy manager who called for
technician. He came and reset the game.
• We restarted and again the same
problem. Once again the technician reset
the game, which allowed the second
player to bowl. The first players score
had been recorded, but now not first the
second player.
• We we’re then told it was required for the
technician to reset after every bowl,
he wouldn’t do.
• My reaction was to ask for a refund, to be
told of the no refund policy, even though
our game had started on a faulty lane.

We were then offered three options:

1 We could wait 30 minutes for a new lane,
but, as it was now 11.05am, wouldn't have
time to complete the two games for each
of the five players. We had a luncheon
appointment 12.40pm.

2 There was a “short lane” available which
we could move to. Due to the time
constraints, to finish two games, wasn’t
an option.

3 I could get a voucher for bowling, that I
had already paid for. It was described as
free bowling for the five people. It’s not
free as I hadn’t used the game I had paid
£70 for.

Surely you can see that for us to have free bowling, we should have been able to play the paid for game. The free bit is the offer of free drinks and a pizza.

In order to make it a free game, you need to refund the £70.

The deputy manager refused to give me contact details, for head office to complain. Instead she gave me the email address for Super Bowl, Macclesfield.

There appeared to only be two staff on duty, which resulted in queues for check in and payments.

Extremely upsetting experience at Super Bowl Ipswich

Extremely upsetting experience at Superbowl UK Ipswich that left our family shocked and humiliated. My family and I decided to enjoy a simple day of bowling, but instead were met with disrespect and blatant discrimination.

My cousin, who is 21 and visiting from New Jersey, ordered a cider and was asked to show his ID. He presented his valid New Jersey driver’s license. What followed was appalling. A staff member (Rhi, the deputy centre manager – middle-aged with brown hair) came back insisting the ID was fake and that we were committing a crime. She said she would confiscate it and hand it over to the police.

We asked for clarification, and she claimed that according to “Google” and “a website,” New Jersey IDs must have a star and a specific hologram. First of all, not all NJ IDs have a star. Secondly, the ID had multiple holograms clearly visible. She refused to acknowledge this and seemed more focused on being right than actually understanding or verifying anything properly.

Even the security guards she called over looked uncomfortable. They quietly admitted they didn’t see anything obviously wrong with the ID, but Rhi doubled down. She had no training, no evidence, and no clear source for her so-called verification. Her tone was rude, accusatory, and confrontational from the start.

This felt like racial profiling, plain and simple. We are a Black family and were treated with suspicion and disrespect over something as basic as showing ID. Would a white visitor have been treated the same way? We honestly doubt it.

It’s unacceptable that a deputy centre manager would accuse someone of a crime based on vague assumptions and misinformation she found on Google. This is a bowling alley, not a border checkpoint. Her actions were over the top, intimidating, and racist.

Superbowl UK needs to do better. Train your staff. Understand that international IDs exist. And most of all, treat people with basic respect and dignity.

We will not be returning, and I would strongly caution others, especially, POC, before visiting this place.

Rip-Off, Don't Waste Your Money.

We have been a couple of times to play darts. The system is good, but the darts were dreadful, and we wasted our playing time getting them replaced. The drinks are so overpriced it is a joke. £6.50 for a large soft drink!!! They don't display the prices of the food or the drinks because they know it is a rip-off!!!! We wouldn't recommend going to others and won't be going back.
