This light weight jacket is perfect to use in cool weather and as an outer layer in cold weather. I wish it had snaps on the collar to snap on an insulated hood like other Carhartt jackets.

Living in the Pacific Northwest, we get plenty of rain and have learned that layers mean comfort. I don't like to wear bulky, heavy jackets, which give you only two choices: very warm but dry...and neither warm nor dry. This Rain Defender is the perfect answer to dry comfort but not so warm that you need to break a sweat. It's very lightweight and comfortable enough for the Nor-Easter icy winds off the Cascade mountains and capable of keeping you dry to boot!
