Amazing venue and staff.

Words cannot express how happy we are that we chose Swynford Manor for our wedding. From our very first visit with Katie, to our planning meetings with Kate, and Maria coordinating every detail on the day, we were blown away from start to finish!

Every single member of staff was incredible. Professional, warm, responsive and genuinely seemed invested in making our day special. Nothing ever felt too much trouble and, unlike some venues, everything felt personal rather than transactional.

Maria was absolutely amazing and truly made for this job. She kept the whole day running seamlessly while somehow managing to look after us every step of the way, from fluffing my veil and bringing us canapés and shots, to keeping us calm and on schedule throughout. She was an absolute angel. Kate was equally amazing during the planning process patient, thorough, friendly and so helpful in bringing all of our ideas to life.

The venue itself is stunning. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather, so we made full use of the incredible outdoor space and even got photos with the nearby horses. Every corner of Swynford is perfect for photographs. Inside is just as beautiful, with the emblack and white décor looking amazing in pictures. The cocktail bar is such a fun and unique touch too.

The pricing was fair and transparent with no hidden costs, and the flexibility to add or change details was hugely appreciated.

The overnight rooms were spacious and loved by our guests, and breakfast the next morning was delicious, such a lovely way to continue the celebrations. The getting ready toom was also fantastic spacious, air-conditioned and perfectly set up for hair stylists and makeup artists.

We also loved the tasting evening. It was such a fun experience meeting other couples and trying the different dishes ahead of the wedding.

The food on the day itself was exceptional. Portions were incredibly generous and all of our guests commented on how amazing everything tasted. The evening food was brilliant too, especially the huge selection of sandwiches on the midnight board which kept everyone staying over going late into the night.

We honestly cannot recommend Swynford Manor highly enough. It was perfect in every way and we genuinely wish we could do it all again. Our friends and family all have the same positive feedback about our day which is so lovely to hear.

If I could put no stars I would!!

If I could put no stars I would!!
We booked our wedding at this venue that I was really excited for but my dad suddenly passed away which broke myself and my family.
I made the decision to cancel my wedding as the thought of my dad not walking me down the aisle or do the dad speech or even have that moment not seeing me in my dress for the first time was just too much for me and my day would of been full of emotion instead of happiness.

I gave the venue 11 months notice, we had paid £10,300, they said I would be entitled to 50% back which was a huge amount loss but it was my decision to cancel so I accepted it.

After a month I still hadn’t received any money to the point I had to chase them for it twice both times I was fobbed off with excuses, they finally paid over a month and half later with a stupid amount of £2825!!!!
They kept £7000 of our money which is disgusting considering the situation, so on top of grieving my dad I also have my wedding venue taking a huge chunk of our savings and not having a care in the world, ohhh sorry forgot to mention that if someone chooses our date then they would still keep 33% on top of getting another full payment off another couple.

After looking more in to this venue and speaking to other couples or guests who have been there, they have all regretted the venue or complained about things even said if they could do the day again they would but at a different venue, they also said the same as us as soon as they have you money that’s it!

So please think twice, I don’t want anyone to be in the same situation as us.
I’m already hurt and this venue has made the hurt a lot harder to get through.

Thoroughly disappointed

I recently visited Swynford Manor and was disappointed by the overall experience. The venue itself is below adequate, with smaller rooms than pictures show. The setup felt poorly maintained, and the lack of attention to detail was evident in areas.

To make matters worse, some of the staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that customer service was not a priority to certain members of staff including the coordinators, making the entire experience even more unpleasant. It was evident that someone had entered our room whilst we weren't in there, which I find unacceptable as we hadn't even been there a few hour's let alone overnight.

Additionally, the water temperature in the taps was dangerously high, whether in the toilets or in the rooms. The boiling hot water posed a serious safety risk, especially with no clear instructions or warnings. The bath tub that is situated in the room was also leaking overnight. It's clear that the management has neglected important details that could significantly improve the guest experience.

Overall, I would not recommend this venue and will not be returning.

Unfortunately we felt very let down

Unfortunately we felt very let down by the team at Swynford, we booked a late deal so had around 6 months to plan the whole day. We had 4 different wedding co-ordinators during this time, Ended up with Lorna who seemed on the ball, however only saw her maybe three times throughout the actual wedding day. After sending 2 emails about our disappointment in certain areas, we were literally ignored. Firstly we were supposed to have access to 1 room for the bridal party, (which was agreed prior) by 10.00am. My mum went to check as we hadn’t heard anything by 10.30am and there was a couple from the wedding the night before still laying on the bed. We notified staff who turned the room around by around 11.30 which was slightly worrying for the 3 bridesmaids and bride to all get ready for 12.30, luckily WE made it happen! I then had one of the staff members show me the cake on a basic silver cake stand I hadn’t agreed too, she informed me the one we had booked had broken 2 days prior. I would have been extremely greatful to have been notified as the venue stylist we booked had included a cake stand in her package however we declined as we were happy with the venue stand we had been promised. Prior to the ceremony the groom was informed we didn’t have enough chairs for guests, so the best man was rushing around to sort this out last minute, luckily it was resolved, again by us, not the staff at Swynford. After the wedding meal, which we cannot fault as it was lovely, the turn around began for the evening, some of the guest commented that they could see the staff through the conservatory pretending to lick the donuts we had provided for our donut wall and taking selfies with it, which for a venue like yourselves I find very unprofessional, not to mention they were handling them without gloves! At this point we were unaware but Lorna had said her goodbyes and it was onto the evening buffet, now I’m not a caterer but for approximately 100+ guests, a few slices of pizza ( that apparently tasted of cardboard) and some chips were completely unacceptable. We had guests travel over an hour in the evening that didn’t even get any food as I would estimate there was enough food for 40 people. The best man notified the chef who bought out some sausages from the breakfast for the day after and that was as good as it got. I don’t know if it’s because we booked a late deal that they dont accommodate and try to ration food for the evening guests, however to hear people commenting about it was highly embarrassing. Had we have known this we would have happily paid an extra amount to ensure people had been fed in the evening. Another point to mention is your staff charge different amounts for drinks, 2 rounds of the same 5 drinks had a difference of £8.30, I’m not sure how that works, you should probably speak with your staff. The best thing about the day was the breakfast the day after! We feel thoroughly let down by Swynford Manor and a reply to one of my 2 emails would have been extremely appreciated.

Disappointing

During the process of booking my wedding/planning and run up to the big day I had 4/5 wedding coordinators who 'lost' or misplaced our information. come to the big day and bridal rooms are not ready causing delay and stress. An extremely rude lady came to check on us whilst getting ready and we needed to make a last minute change this seemed to be a massive inconvenience to her as she physically rolled her eyes, wedding party also had multiple problems with her. I was also extremely angry to speak to my husband later in the day to find out the same woman had asked him to hurry up and leave due to her showing another couple around the venue ... on our wedding day SO MUCH FOR EXLUSIVE HIRE. I had a special day but not due to the staff there the only one who was helpful was Lauren. Overall very disappointed and I have many other issues with this venue but these are my main points
