it was really a great buying experience

I was really worried when I started to dig a bit deeper after ordering - a rarely used Facebook account and Twitter which wasn't public.

Contacting the company is hard - it's all by email; the phone number is just a call centre.

I asked for tracking details and was given them, and a phone number. I ordered a bathroom cabinet, the tracking details were for a pallet distributer which I thought was bizarre - but my order was delivered by a pallet lorry...

I ordered on the Friday before a bank holiday, and I recieved my order on the following Wednesday (so about 12 days later including a bank holiday and 2 weekends). Delivery is slow compared to other online retailers, but be patient and it will come.

The communications aren't great - an email to say "your order has left the warehouse" and other helpful status updates would be good, as would proactive tracking so you can track your order. I think this company is small and perhaps they are simply overwhelmed with orders, plus people only ever write bad reviews online!

Initially phoned sales line for further info about a product but they said they were just the order line and I had to email. Received no reply to email. Stupidly phoned sales line, checked my items were in stock and confirmed delivery would be in 3-5 working days. When order still not dispatched 3 working days later I chased it up, received email saying they would look into it and advise of a delivery date. Nothing more since despite phoning sales line, (who reckon they don't have a number for anyone else in the company) and being assured that they'd get someone to contact me. Can't find alternative phone number or valid address which leaves me suspicious about the credentials of this company.

I purchased two items, one set of taps, and a hung toilet. The taps were delivered within two days which was excellent. However at the time there was no information at all on the other part of the order, and neither the product nor the information about the product ever seemed forthcoming. Following an order on 14th Feb I am still awaiting this toilet. There are two main problems; first of all there is no customer service line (the telephone line is for orders only and they claim to know nothing about outstanding orders, only that the company director "may be called Mr Patel"). There is an email query service available but this is either swamped with enquiries or the person answering the emails is very much a part-time employee. The best I've had from them over ten days of enquiries is that the quality control failed and the batch was sent back, but my further questions remain unanswered. Somebody told me they were going to get some information from the warehouse about the status of the order but that hasn't happened either since the email three days ago. I believe that this company is highly efficient if they have the stock ready, but if not, forget it, they'll send it when they finally remember your order but will be in no hurry.

I may have this all wrong, and the toilet may appear on my doorstep tomorrow, but I remain highly sceptical....

Bought my kitchen and bathroom taps from platinumtaps.co.uk and must say customer service, product and price was excellent. platinum taps have also started selling bathrooms so worth a look at some of the excellent showers they also. Overall a very nice website, great customer service, all taps listed are accurate and pictures make it easy to choose.
