STAY AWAY FROM TOYOTA!!!
I am beyond frustrated and deeply disappointed with Toyota. I own a RAV4, and the white paint is literally peeling off across the entire vehicle—large sections of it, not just small spots. It makes the car look old, neglected, and poorly maintained, even though I’ve taken great care of it.
After doing some research and speaking with representatives, I was told this is a known issue—especially with Toyota’s white paint. So clearly, this isn’t an isolated incident. Yet somehow, my vehicle was conveniently excluded from any warranty coverage.
That makes absolutely no sense. The peeling only started within the past year, which shows the defect persisted far longer than Toyota expected. This isn’t normal wear and tear—this is a clear manufacturing defect. Toyota is fully aware of the problem, but instead of standing behind their product, they are choosing to ignore it and push the burden onto customers.
To make matters worse, their customer service has been incredibly disappointing. I was given the runaround, met with generic responses, and ultimately dismissed. No accountability, no real attempt to help, and no willingness to make things right. For a company that prides itself on reliability and quality, this experience has been the complete opposite.
I trusted Toyota when I purchased this vehicle, and that trust has been completely broken. Between the defective paint and the lack of support, I feel like I’ve been stuck with a problem they know exists but refuse to fix.
I will absolutely not be recommending Toyota to anyone, and I will never purchase another vehicle from them again. Buyers beware—if something goes wrong, don’t expect Toyota to stand behind their product.
