Newer is Not Necessarily Better

Recently bought a new Technisat UHD TV. The VIDAA operating system is miserable when compared to the old Technisat OS. VIDAA is not as flexible, has compatibility problems with films recorded on the old system, and is not easy to work with. I contacted Technisat several times to get the TV up and working (fully). During one call I asked why the change and the reply was that it was cheaper to produce the TV with the VIDAA system. Funny, because the TV is not cheaper for the consumer. Had I known VIDAA had replaced the excellent Technisat system, I would not have bought the TV, but would have bought a comparable TV at a much cheaper price. If you are familiar with the old system and buy this TV you will be disappointed. I do not recommend Technisat TVs with VIDAA OS

Thank you for your open and honest feedback. Unfortunately, we were unable to continue using the old operating system because it is not suitable for implementing the latest technologies.

This includes HDR10+, Dolby Vision, the latest HbbTV version, and also streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Furthermore, there is no longer a chipset supplier that allows us to access the middleware needed to implement the operating system accordingly.

Companies like Panasonic are experiencing similar problems, having switched to the often-criticized Fire OS because they can no longer equip their traditional operating system with this content.

The Vidaa operating system is distinguished from other providers such as Google TV or WEB-OS by its intuitive operation and the necessary compliance with the latest TV standards.

We believe that, under the current circumstances, this is the best option for intuitively offering modern content to our customers.
