moved to the area and found the Magazine's pub by valle park newbrighton promenade. what a fantastic pub dating back to the 17 century. lovely hosts Steve & mary nice staff good selection of beers and lovely food have eaten here on numerous occasions never disappointed .Trevor & Julie Dickson melling court wallasey
Arrived as a reserved party of 10. For a roast dinner.
Some meats were inedible, (blue instead of being medium to well) soup starters came out after everyone else had finished. The mains contained ham which was out of the fridge and most ingredients cold to the touch.
Many meals were missing some of the ingredients specified on the menu. Vegetables were unable to have a fork put into them never mind cut with the butter knives we were given.
The vegetarian nut roast was also inedible and left on the plate.
When paying the bill seperately, we were unable to do so at the table and had to go to the bar. Being seperate some had to wait in the queue of people waiting for drinks.
No apology, we had to even pay extra for the meat which was given to a nearby dog.
No apology, charged full price. Shall not be returning in this state.
Great place to visit - the girls behind the bar very friendly, warm smiles and happy to help. Tuesday night is Folk Club - live music (unplugged) - great choices of songs being sung and guitars, banjos, violins, recorders and percussion being played. A good time had by all in this venue so it seems.
